Quaint local bar with a good beer selection. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Food isn't always available due to the time of day or if a food truck is on site.

Cold beer, outdoor seating , and daily happy hours. What more can you ask for in a local bar. Parking is a bit confusing but it's a bar practically in downtown! Street parking or across the street always works for me . They also have pool , foosball, and a Big Buck Hunter arcade! Schwing!

My husband and I were invited here for a friends birthday. This being our first time out to a bar post COVID we were excited ! We traveled an hour out and thought it would be worth the trip. As soon as we get into the car, we get a text saying that we should stop and get food , as this bar (that closes at 1) stops serving food at 9. Super cute bar from the street , but the "manager" or person in charge (who identified herself as Tabatha) was rude -- and shouldn't be the initial person greeting if you expect repeat customers. We were able to get a parking spot right up front. As we were trying to figure out where our friends were -- we noticed two 21+ signs so we got our ID out. Walked into the bar , ordered our drinks and I went to use the bathroom. Upon entering the bathroom there was a sign that said "no drinks or food in the bathroom". Side Note: The bathroom gave me real college vibes with the bin of condoms attached to the wall -- but makes sense with the 21+ signs they make sure to have all over the building. I say that to say this... there wasn't any signs on the patio stating "no drinks beyond this point". There wasn't any room where our group of 10 was sitting so my husband went around to where other people were standing on the side walk, still with our group but I was able to sit. Not knowing you can't drink over the fence , I passed him his drink and Tabatha "ran" over to him.. snatched his drink and said "you can't drink that here and you are no longer allowed back in." Oh? No warning , nothing. We weren't hostile or rude, it was an honest mistake. Spent an hour in the car to meet Shrek at the Swamp for 10 min. Thanks for letting me use your bathroom? 1/10 don't recommend -- the party we came with left and enjoyed our friends birthday at a more welcoming environment. Being watched from the moment you get out of the car by "said staff" and then noticing the lack of diversity-- I should have known there were going to be problems

the 'Nuche is quite a place.. great large deck for enjoying cold beers during daily happy hours (4-6). The place is far from fancy and saying they have a menu is a bit of a stretch. It attracts a variety of people from all walks of life.

Have the bathrooms been cleaned in the last 20 years?

That's been my experience. The bathrooms were always disgusting. The smell would knock you over...

Do you guys have line dancing?

Unfortunatley we do not. However, line dancing is fun! I'm not sure who does it in the area. Thanks for thinking of us!

What days and hours for $1 oysters?

I’m sorry. We don’t do oysters!

Definitely a surprise to the regular clientele. Look for the roadside sign into their large parking lot. The building is set way back. Signs every where instruct patrons. A large over head sign lets you know to "order here." No waitress service. Belly up to the bar and place food and drink orders with the bartender. A sign at the bar instructs "order, pay, move outta the way!" I just love this. Signs on the tables instruct "Do not drag tables". however, you can pick them up and move them. Just don't drag them. For our crowd, we did have to move a couple tables and chairs. There is a jukebox on one wall and I must say the clientele have excellent musical taste. This is absolutely my kind of bar. We had some fun conversations with locals. The bartender was friendly and efficient. All together an enjoyable visit. Besides soft drinks, bottled beers and a full bar, the food menu is pretty extensive. Apps, sandwiches, salad, entrees. With live music, pool table and darts this is a good neighborhood bar.

Walking in 7 minutes after opening, this place was already packed. Full of Patriots fans hooping and hollering to the end of the fourth quarter. Every appeared in a merry mood, and everyone knew each other it seems. Service here was great. Our waitress whipped around the room with finesse and speed, working the bar and tables all by herself. She was to the point but pleasant. The beers are ok, but they aren't anything spectacular. An average selection of nearby beers of all varieties. Going to other breweries in New Hampshire, I know that this state can produce good beers. Perhaps they just had a mediocre selection the week I was there. We ordered a medley of items and most of it was hit and miss. In the sampler, the pork cracklings were decent, although dinner pieces were hard to chew since they turned into a dense fried bit. The fries were ok, but standard. The tator tot was actual pretty good, but there's this sweetness and texture that makes me think of pumpkin? That could be upsetting to some. The chicken tenders are ok, but the breading isn't seasoned or exciting in texture. It felt like how I would fry chicken at home with only one coat of breading. The pickle chips were good, even though they were not spicy at all. If they called these paprika coated chips, then I would agree. But texture wise, they were actually crisp and not super watery. The pulled pork tacos are ok, but they rely more on sweet barbeque sauce more than anything else. The tortillas are subpar in flavor, but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The veggies slaw did add some nice acidity though. The wedge salad here is terrible. I should have looked up what others posted before I ordered it. It was a literal wedge of plain iceberg, with all the other ingredients and fixings dumped in the middle. The stuff in the middle was ok, but nothing felt harmonious. Just a bunch of salad ingredients added to a giant paper tray. It felt like a waste of 9 dollars for what was lazy preparation.

You insouciantly scroll through your Yelp feed, not particularly sure what you have an appetite for because making decisions is about as difficult as adulting. This, ladies and gentlemen, is my wife to a T. Although, she highlighted this place to me and I was instantly hooked - so, I can't complain too much. Now, it isn't clear to us how long this place has been in our midst. But judging from the lack of photos, I'm willing to bet that it's either not yet well known enough or it's a fairly new place. In any case, O'Brien's Sports Bar deserves far more recognition than it's getting at the time of me reviewing this. I've been to plenty of Irish pubs. Some good, some rather meh. I've only tried one meal so far. But based on that, plus the copious menu selection, I can already tell you O'Brien's is possibly the best Irish pub I've tried food from in a long while. I was quite disappointed when they permanently closed down Waxy O'Connor's in Lexington. But I believe O'Brien's will be a more than suitable replacement to satisfy my yearning for Irish cuisine. So, as the intro infers, we ordered take-away via DoorDash, of all things. Which implores me to bring up this caveat: there's a vast difference between ordering from DoorDash versus what's actually available on the O'Brien's menu via their website. Basically, DoorDash represents a severely gutted version of their menu, in my opinion. Certain items, you just can't order from DoorDash...for SOME reason. A few examples include: the seafood chowder, chicken marsala, and pretty much any burger that's more complex than your traditional cheese burger. Not really a ding against the restaurant itself. I'm just ranting here to state that I really hate DoorDash sometimes. They're as overpriced as they are underequipped. /endrant Anywho, I kept things simple this evening and tried the fish n' chips. Upfront, I gotta tell ya....they give you a shitload of fish! Like...at least 10 to 12 ounces (or 6 huge nuggets), if I had to guess. And whilst the fish itself was delicious and meaty, the batter could have benefited from some type of seasoning. Let's just say...this is the type of fish that requires tartar sauce. Oh, speaking of which.. I didn't get any tartar sauce with my order. No idea why. But it's a good thing we always keep some at the house (and it's the fancy kind, too). Now, their chips are like nothing I've ever seen. The best way I could describe them is....well seasoned boomerang fries. Hey, I don't care WHAT shape they are, so long as they're tasty as hell! Overall, the dish gets an 8 out of 10, despite them forgetting the tartar sauce. We've already decided we'll dine in at this place apropos for a date night. I mean, based on our DoorDash experience, it seems clear to us this will be the only way to experience their complete menu. And I've already got my eyes on the aforementioned chowder, chicken marsala, and/or one of their delicious looking burgers. And then maybe, just MAYBE...we can get some more photos onto their page already. I have a feeling this rating may get adjusted upon revisit. But for now, I'm giving O'Brien's Sports Bar 4 gigantic fish nuggets with tasty boomerang fries out of 5.
