This bar offers drinks for great prices and a good variety of draft beers. The bartender was attentive and quick. They have pool, darts, and foosball which is awesome. I wanted to play pool but the day I went the bar was a hosting a foos ball tournament so the pool table was closed. The foos ball tournament was cool but i was sad I couldn't play pool. If you cant stand the smell of cigarettes i don't recommend coming here. But if you dont mind it, its well worth it. I will return for some cheap drinks and hopefully pool! read more

I have only ever had the drinks here and they are good and strong with a pretty decent selection. What I come for most are the vibes, they have darts which are a lot of fun as well as pool and foosball. Their outdoor patio is great too, it is very large with lots of seating and the lights are nice and during the winter they have heaters. For me, parking on the street or across the street is always convenient. They also offer a arcade, foosball, and pool! I will say though the service was okay. One of the waiters slipped me a note saying he has to go through a torture chamber every month and telling me to call the police?? im not too sure what that meant so i tipped her 10%. Tried to grab a few drinks with in with my girlfriend. They denied her at the door because they claimed her ID was fake. It was a legitimate Maine ID, and a REALID at that. Was a decent new years experience AT FIRST. My complaint is that they had a bartender who was impatient and rude to customers. I suffer from extremely poor vision.. when asking bartender what beers were on tap, I was told to look for myself and to then "figure it out" WHEN I INFORMED THEM OF MY DISABILITY. When I informed the bartender of my vision impairment they said it was my problem. Ignored me. And refused serve me. This place discriminated against visually impaired individuals. The bartender involved was a younger 20's-30 longer (DARK BROWN) haired individual who seemed to be in a constant rush and can't really do their job effectively. Don't come here unless you value being treated like a peasant while spending more money than you should. I really hate to complain. But this discrimination against disabilities shouldn't be allowed. My husband and I were invited here for a friends birthday. This being our first time out to a bar post COVID we were excited ! We traveled an hour out and thought it would be worth the trip. As soon as we get into the car, we get a text saying that we should stop and get food , as this bar (that closes at 1) stops serving food at 9. Super cute bar from the street , but the "manager" or person in charge (who identified herself as Tabatha) was rude -- and shouldn't be the initial person greeting if you expect repeat customers. We were able to get a parking spot right up front. As we were trying to figure out where our friends were -- we noticed two 21+ signs so we got our ID out. Walked into the bar , ordered our drinks and I went to use the bathroom. Upon entering the bathroom there was a sign that said "no drinks or food in the bathroom". Side Note: The bathroom gave me real college vibes with the bin of condoms attached to the wall -- but makes sense with the 21+ signs they make sure to have all over the building. I say that to say this... there wasn't any signs on the patio stating "no drinks beyond this point". There wasn't any room where our group of 10 was sitting so my husband went around to where other people were standing on the side walk, still with our group but I was able to sit. Not knowing you can't drink over the fence , I passed him his drink and Tabatha "ran" over to him.. snatched his drink and said "you can't drink that here and you are no longer allowed back in." Oh? No warning , nothing. We weren't hostile or rude, it was an honest mistake. Spent an hour in the car to meet Shrek at the Swamp for 10 min. Thanks for letting me use your bathroom? 1/10 don't recommend -- the party we came with left and enjoyed our friends birthday at a more welcoming environment. Always nice service. Nice games such as darts, pool, a few video games inside. Patio is exceptional. It's got a neighborhood feel to me, I would not call it a dive bar, although some might. The aesthetic is much nicer, almost lodge-esque. Seems like a lot of the folks are Nashua-natives with their own local work or business. "Cinematic" is the best term that I can think of to describe this place. My co-worker and I visited Penuche's last week when we were in town for work. This bar definitely has local/dive bar vibes. The inside of the bar was pretty small and empty. There were a couple people playing darts, but it seemed like for the most part people only went inside to get a drink from the bartender. Honestly, I don't know how to go about this. I did complain about my drink. Everyone at my table was complaining about their drinks. I went up to the bar tender and very politely said "hey man. I really don't mean to be that guy, but half of us ordered doubles after our first drinks with you and we still are not getting any alcohol. For the extra dough we gave you for double shots we should be able to taste it and we can't even tell if there are anything is these" he asked if I had a tab, ran my card, then kicked me out. I would not be as upset as I am if he didn't run my card first. If I was a heat case and yelling or being belligerent do you think I would help him find my card and give him time to run it? I mean the place isn't all that bad aesthetic wise and I guess it has a cool history, I have even met some cool people there, but after this experience I avoid it unless it is literally just me in the group who does not like it. read more

They truly deserve a bad revue now...tried to stop in after our belongings were stolen (thought we'd give the place another try since the bartenders were decent people) and we are told to "fuck off, you gave us a bad revue! " by mayo and Lisa... I've been going there, off and on, since I moved to Nashua in 2001. I've always taken the gruff attitudes as what to expect from a dive bar, but acting like petulant children because of a perceived slight is ridiculous. I did try to explain and apologize for any confusion, but they were rude and unstirring. I used to think the summer was the best time to go because there is a good sized outdoor seating area but now the inside is so spacious I think any season will be the best time. So many people think they go to dive bars because they found a place that serves PBR & Ganset. Those bars tend to be full of hipsters and scensters who think its cool they "found" the place that is catering to them especially since the PBR's are usually $6-$8. Then are real dive bars. Places that have a sketchy vibe and you feel out of place in nice clothes and the fact you have a good career/future. If you want that time of experience than welcome to the 'nuche. I stopped in here recently for the first time since I had my fake ID back in the day although I don't think I even needed to use it when we used to go here. The beer selection is actually pretty decent and they had one of the coolest TouchTunes jukeboxes I've ever seen. So not everything is sketchy about this place. The truly sketchy part are the people in the bar. There were a number of toothless older woman who looked like they had done enough crack and meth that they were lucky to be alive. Then there were the random guys who were just itching to drug some girls drink. Not to forget the ever present fact that 70% of the bar was outside smoking at any given time. Certainly an experience and while I make this place sound it bad it certainly is not. If you can appreciate the charm of the sketchiness and the fact you'll have a conversation with someone who you might not normally ever than you will like this place. If you want beer in a fancy environment full of hipsters and that ilk than this is not the place for you. read more

My first visit to Penuche was last night. My friend and I arrived around 5:15ish and found the place somewhat busy. I definitely love the building and its interior decor, almost like being in a converted garage, barn or woodshop. It seems they only serve drinks. There was a jukebox going that made a lot of the ambiance. Two dart boards were present and it was clear that besides the beer and drink selection, this was the main draw. My friend and I waited about 20 to 30 minutes before a board was freed and proceeded to play a good number of games. There was a decent beer selection on tap, including Uinta's Hop Nosh IPA, Long Trail's Sick Day IPA, and Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale. Things started off good with the Hop Nosh, tasting as I had expected (it's a good IPA). However, the Sick Day was nothing like I anticipated, tasting more like a thick brown ale than an IPA. There were practically no hops. The Celebration hardly fared better, again with the absence of hops, almost skunk-like in its flavor. Granted it had been a while since I had a Celebration, and had never tried the Sick Day before, but I am certain both brews should have tasted differently. My conclusion was that they had a different beer hooked up to the Sick Day tap and the Celebration tap hose was just filthy. Those are my educated guesses explaining how each brew missed so badly. The final tab for 4 pints was $7 and change! Turned out there was a happy hour (more like hours) happening, on a Saturday night no less. I was psyched. Definitely returning back to this place for more darts, Hop Nosh, and a test of their bottled beer selection. read more

One of the few places in Nashua with no cover. It's a dive, but a fun one. Drinks are fairly cheap, and the bartenders are great. Very friendly, even when I made complaints about my tequila sunrise being mixed (and therefore, not "sunrise-y"). They have a decent beer selection, cider if it's your thing, and they do a fine job with mixed drinks. I'm rarely disappointed, but when I am I'm not shy and they've never had a problem fixing things the way I like. They offer fries and chicken wings and the like, and it hasn't killed anyone I know yet. They recently added a good-sized patio, so sitting outside is no longer a hazard for the overly tipsy. (Uneven pavement and plastic chairs don't get along well!) Inside are some awkwardly placed tables and booths, and a really nice horseshoe nook in the back that is a little quieter if you actually want to hear over the music. An awkwardly placed big screen TV is usually airing sporting events, but the place isn't really set up to watch a game. The women's bathroom at the 'Nuche has always been a frightening place, though even this has had a recent upgrade as there are actual doors on the stalls now, that actually close! Bonus! It's still the size of a closet, though, so don't expect to bring friends with you for safety. If you're a girl that needs to travel in a pack, I suggest taking the walk down to Margaritas. (It's cleaner there, too.) Also, pro-tip: when you walk out of the women's room, keep one hand on the men's room door so the guys don't hit you on their way out. And if you can leave your coat/purse/baggage with someone, it's easier to navigate unburdened. They offer "entertainment" in the form of Foosball, pool (on a TINY table), darts, and a few random video games. Want to go Buck-Hunting? You can do that here! It's dark, it's sketchy, the bars are usually wet and/or sticky, seating is awkward and uncomfortable... and I love it. read more

Fun bar. The music and atmosphere inside reminded me of being in high school though. Pantera, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and other classics were blaring from the speakers. That wasn't a critisicm on my part...don't care if you judge me, but I give the place props for having Rime of the Ancient Mariner playing when I walked in. Penuche's is a definite dive bar that appeals to the younger locals of Nashua. It is great for people watching, cheap booze and maybe playing some pool or fooze ball. Don't come here if you don't like obnoxiously loud (and IMO, bad) music, drunk people, and have no sense of humor. The bartenders seemed to be pretty cool, even if they did refuse to play the metal that I put on the juke box (not the first time I've had my music turned down on me at a bar. Haters.).
