There isn't anything not to love at People Optical. The store floor is bright and welcoming. The staff here are extremely knowledgeable of all the styles, brands, trends, and designs they carry. They are very approachable, kind, and offer a no-pressure atmosphere. People Optical's wide selection and quality are without a doubt top-of-the-line, ranging from the most practical & stylish to high fashion types and designer brands for all ages. Some frames they carry are even made with flatter Asian faces in mind, giving plenty of breathing room between the face and frames. They also offer on-site eye exams. All of these things come at extremely reasonable prices that would wow even the most savvy of shoppers. I've bought both my main frames and second pair at this location because of how impressed I felt about the whole experience. I look forward to coming again in the future. I went to People Optical for the first time last week since my sister offered to buy me glasses for my birthday present and suggested it. I didn't care where as long as they had a frame I like or suits me. I really can't say for sure if the frames were cheap or over paid since I didnt get a chance to shop around and only some research while editing this review. I think the final price with glasses and exam together was $230. It seems like it's on the average to be honest but the service is excellent and makes up for any dollar over paid. They seemed busy but I never waited a minute when I got there. I was late for my eye exam by 5 min but still got the eye exam done in time. Dr. Fara was professional, courteous, and even cleaned the chin rest a 2nd time by request. James was the service rep that helped from the start. He answered all my questions about the frames they had. Their variety of choices are pretty good. It took a long time to pick the frames I like and tried on more than a dozen different frames. But, James was patient and helpful throughout the whole process. Then, when I finally tried on a particular black frame with white lining, I knew I found the pair that suits me best. I checked their contact lenses prices and seemed competitive. I haven't had an eye exam in awhile but i never had to pay for 2 exams before and seemed fishy. I always paid for 1 exam in the past even when i bought glasses and contact lenses at same time. I tried to compare with other store prices but kind of hard to compare exact same brand and style before my eye exam and asking what People Optical carries. But the overall price even with the 2nd eye exam still seemed lower than other stores, especially when I calculate the extra this place gives you. It seems this place is competitive in prices and may only see something cheaper during black Friday. But the quality of service is top notch and makes you feel every penny was worth it. I would definitely restock my contact lenses before the end of the year but may shop around to see if anything better next year since their exam is valid for only 1 year. Which has a high chance of still being cheaper than other places without another eye exam. read more

The employees here are the friendliest and extremely helpful. If there are rebates, they even do most of the work for you so that it's pretty foolproof. To top it off, their prices are reasonable and they take care of you if you have a supply emergency. Something you can't get online. The only complaint I have, if any, is their optometry office that seems to operate separately? An examination is an examination so I wouldn't stop going only because of this but I've had better where the doctors are a little more personable and informative of what they are doing and comments on what they see/observe. The best service - a gem in Irvine for the optically challenged. Highly recommended. I came here on a Wednesday for an eye exam and a year's supply of soft lenses. Generally, I frequented another optometrist's office in Garden Grove, which is far but (I thought) worth the drive. After the stellar help I received here, though, I won't be returning to the old office. The staff at People Optometry are not only helpful but also generous; I received my contacts and new glasses lenses per my order plus an extra two months' worth of soft contacts. They also included five travel-size bottles of Opti-Free solution. Not to mention I received all this on Saturday...a day after they called to say my order was ready for pickup. Anyways, my little sister has a bad habit of sleeping with her glasses on her bed and one morning, she stepped out of bed and stepped on her glasses. They snapped. We quickly made numerous phone calls from the Optical centers around Irvine, and none of them could get the glasses fixed by the end of the day except for People Optical. Being new, they were super friendly and had a pretty great deal going on. I hope they keep those prices because they could really gather some clientele for the prices alone. I used to go to Garden Grove area to get my check ups, contacts, glasses done but now I'm so glad that there's one in my own backyard with comparable pricing. Expect great customer service. I got both my glasses and contacts done for a lot less than what they quote you at lenscrafters or the like. That's why I like to stick with Korean establishments as they always give better prices! Even better, they speak English fluently. The doctor is very kind and actually educates you on your eye condition which is always a plus! They even got my glasses done under 10 minutes when they got my lens order in. This is one of the few times that yelp disappointed me. I came here based on the high ratings, but received very Luke warm service. The guy picked out glasses that looked very old fashioned and ill fitting and he abruptly abandoned me when another customer came in to pick up her order without even a courtesy excuse-me. Two things you should know - they are out of network provider (my insurance only covers half as much here), they are much more friendlier towards Korean customers than others. I met a friend that recommended Asian fit glasses. To my surprise there are Asian fit glasses. Then I found People Optical. I came in and everyone was very nice. I had the pleasure to work with Sam. He is very knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect frame for my face shape. They have a a huge selection that you can feel overwhelmed. They have nice high end brands and reasonably priced frames. But Sam is so great at listening to my issues with my frames. I didn't feel any pressure or like he tried to up-sell me on anything. They are super friendly and attentive. I came in and probably tried on 10+ pairs but the mister (owner, possibly?) never got annoyed and even suggested different styles to try! I ended up getting new glasses (Tiffany frames for under 200 bucks since they had 15% off promotion going on!) for around 300 bucks. It's such a good deal for me especially because I have really bad eyesight. It's probably cheaper if you have better eyesight than I do... but seriously, comparable prices to garden grove (if not cheaper) AND WAY CHEAPER THAN lenscrafters and way better quality! I was just visiting Irvine and stopped by this place to see if i can get some new glasses and walked out with new ones in about 40 minutes! They were very helpful when i tried on many different frames. They gave me good comments and suggested even more variety of styles instead of being annoyed. I had my prescription on me but i think you can get one next door as well. Once i chose my frame they told me to wait 15 minutes and that was it! I didn't have to wait couple of days to pick them up or anything which was great since i really didn't want to drive back to Irvine (i live in SD) to pick them up. Even though the lens are pretty expensive my friends who are expert in this field told me it's still a great deal and the craftsmanship is excellent. Extremely happy with my experience here. I came in to get lenses with pre-bought frames. Costco wouldn't accept them because they were wire frames. They were very polite. On top of that it only cost $70 to put in the lenses! Cheaper than Costco! However, I opted to pay a little extra ($30 more) for Seiko brand lenses. All lenses come standard with UV protection and anti-reflective coating. They had it ready within only a few days. A few days after getting my glasses, I realized that one of the lenses wasn't set perfectly. I took them back to the store and they fixed them right on the spot! This place surpasses any top notch customer service i've ever experienced for any business, by far. I got an eye exam here & the lady was extremely nice & took her time to understand my complicated vision due to the extreme astigmatism i have. The lenses for prescription glasses were also fitted here & they took their time helping me out, making sure they fit me comfortable & that the lenses themselves worked for me. My contact lens situation is another story. Due to my extreme astigmatism & odd prescription, i require specific contact lenses that have to be custom ordered which make them a 3-4 week back order. They accommodated me with a sample pair that were similar to my prescription so i had samples to wear in the meantime. After a work trip, the lenses were trashed just a week out. Sam (the main person i've been in contact with throughout my entire experience with People Optical) has been nothing but understanding & accommodating with me throughout everything, making sure i'm taken care of in a timely matter every time something new comes up.
