Went to purchase a battery at 12:15 today. I was told by employee that they couldn't enter at ticket. Only the manager could. He just left for lunch. Said he would be back in about thirty minutes. I waited and asked again to a different employee. Said he wouldn't be back for a hour or so. Left and went to Walmart and purchased. read more

Driving on a Sunday to church, I discovered I had a nail in my tire. Pep Boys was one of the only places open. It was easy setting up an appointment online. I ended up having a nail in the tread and one that went to the sidewall. The guys doing the work in the garage bays were great. They were fast and treated me well, but I feel that I was overcharged as I was never asked about a hazard warranty on the tires (2) but as I left, I found out that I was sure charged for one by the guy taking orders. I have always been asked when buying tires anywhere, but not this time...just added on. I think this is unethical! I had good service at Pep Boys in Acworth, but I won't ever go to this location again. If it had been any other day of the week I would have gone to Discount Tire or Mavis. Took my car to oil change somewhere else and was told the last place didn't even add any oil in. This location was the last place I went to. Don't go here unless you want them to try to milk whatever money you have. They will keep your car extra time here unless they get more service done. The tall African American guy wouldn't take my card and wanted cash so he can use his card. They're scamming people here. read more

We had an amazing experience at Pep Boys! My mother in law noticed her Toyota Corolla was driving differently than normal. Pep Boys is a partner of the CarvanaCare warranty program, so we went to get a diagnosis for the car. We dropped it off at about 10:45am. By 12pm, Jose had determined that the car needed a new throttle body, contacted the warranty company to get approval, and already ordered the part! He anticipated the part would be delivered by 3pm so that we could pick up the completely repaired car by 6pm. As it turned out, the part got delivered early, and the car was fully done around 2:00pm! Such a fantastic experience. We will use this Pep Boys exclusively going forward because Jose was so great. read more

Needed a new battery for my car, as I had to jump start it that morning for my trip home from Florida to Illinois. Called Pep Boys in Cartersville, Ga and they had the battery in stock and could install it that afternoon. Got off I-75 and drove to the shop. They checked to make sure it was the battery and not the alternator or some other problem, which I was glad that they were thorough. They installed the new battery and had me back on the road in about a half hour. High fives to Brett and his team. Nice job. read more

I called and was quoted $154.99 to replace my brakes on the rear of my truck. I told them I'd take an oil change and wipers also and to turn my front rotors as I knew the pads were fine. They told me they would do an inspection and call me. That they did. When they called back, I was quoted nearly $800.00 and recommended rotors and pads for front and back and included the cost of the oil change and wipers. I told them I could supply my own parts as I have family discounts elsewhere and was told they don't install customer parts. I respectfully declined all services other than the oil change and asked them to set it back down and complete just the oil change and wipers. I go get my hook up on parts and pay less than $200 for 4 new rotors, front pads, 2 cans of brake cleaner and some grease. I already bought the rear brake pads some time ago. When I start loosening lug nuts, I discover nearly all of the lug nuts are over torqued. Way over torqued. It took me (300+ lbs) jumping on a 4 way lug wrench and my brother pulling up at the same time to break the rear axle loose. No big deal, these jack wagons just over torqued by 400 lbs (97 ft lbs is the spec on my aluminum wheels) and probably enjoyed knowing I'd struggle getting them off. Rear brakes are done, let's move on to the front. Same deal. Everything is way too tight and then I get to one that is obviously cross threaded. I immediately stop working and call this location to explain the problem. Assistant manager Brett argues with me, tells me they were torqued to spec and hangs up on me. I called back and was told that he doesnt know of a customer service number I can call, doesnt know of anything that can he do to resolve my problem. I would have to wait until the morning to discuss my problem with the manager, Scott. I call another Pep Boys in search of a customer service number and I get a 180 degree turn around on customer service (check the review for the Woodstock location by 575/publix to see more, A+ ). I decide I'm going to show up to the Cartersville location to get a refund for the hassles when they open. I explain that my truck is in another Pep Boys shop getting hubs replaced because they were torqued down so bad that two studs snapped pulling the wheels off and another one so hard that the stud actually spun inside of the hub splines (holy shit!) that are designed to receive the stud. Manager Scott's response? "I have been doing this 35 years and I would rather over torque and replace a few studs or hubs than under torque" completely averting the extreme and overly excessive torque that was needed to damage my hub assemblies as bad as they did. Of course it's the lesser of two evils but this wasn't just over torqued. This (in my opinion), was maliciously hammered home, obvious by the damage evidence and went completely ignored during our conversation. Manager Scott then asks me why I didnt bring it back to them. I explained that Brett wanted nothing to do with it and that I would have to wait until the next day. The end result? A very disappointing visit to a service provider. The first time in my life I have ever brought my vehicle to anyone outside of my own hands and I was met with a disaster because I refused to pay the excessive premium for brake assembly replacement. I will never return to this location and I wont tell anyone else not to. Just read this review and make up your own mind. This is my first truck I have ever purchased and paid off in my life and it's my baby. This facility did not meet my expectations at all. Manager Scott did refund my money per my request and said he was sorry I had a problem as I was walking out the door. I'm now waiting to see how ridiculously over torqued my canister filter will be from the oil change and will have that in the back of my mind until the time comes. read more

My wife was on the road to South Georgia, from Kentucky, and noticed her tire light on. She pulled off at the only place she was familiar with, Walmart, and they were going to have her wait 3 hours to plug her tire, from a very small nail. With no other recourse, she left Calhoun Ga Walmart trying to get further down the road to get the small leak fixed. I googled, knowing nothing of the area, and found this Pep Boys in Cartersville, Ga. They gladly took my wifes car in, and fixed it in less than 10 minutes, for free. Pep Boys have gotten a customer for life. This particular Pep Boys gladly fixed a frightened lady's tire that had no idea what she was going to do. Passing through on my way to Tennessee and got a popped tire, went to Honda who needed to order the parts and would cost a ton, Walmart said they couldn't do the bent rim, these guys took a look at the tire and said no more it was fixed quickly at a good price and they stayed after closing to finish, good honest people read more

I dropped my truck off the night before 2/15/2019 I got a call at 11:03 am 2/16/2019 told me my truck was ready. Arrived at shop at 1:23pm and my truck was still on the lift. This is what kind of service I have been getting here lately. I used to recommend this place to everyone but every since Scott left the service here has been terrible. I was coming to this location before Pep Boys took it over. I didn't know it was Pep Boys now. I needed an oil change so I just went ahead and let them do it. They gave me a good price and I have no complaints. I will update this review when I go back again if need be. They were nice and my car has not exploded or anything so that's good. read more

I called at 11:15 7/3/2020 and spoke with Brett about having my tires looked at after the "low tire pressure" notification came on in my car. He said bring it in, we are busy but if you can drop it off we can get to it. No problem. When I get to the location I go in and Brett is at the desk. He asks what I'm having issues with an I explain to him I spoke with him about 10 mins prior about a low tire pressure. Brett says he really doesn't have time but if i insist i can leave it but strongly urges I should go somewhere else (recommends a tire shop down the road). I call the recommended place and they aren't answering, I'm assuming because it's a holiday weekend. I came back in to speak with Brett to let him know I do need to leave it and have it looked at. Brett then begins to speak very rudely and says "Do you see all these keys, I have a lot of other cars with bigger issues than a tire. If you still think you need to leave it here tell me what tire it is." I told him I wasn't sure because mine doesn't show which tire, it simply shows an alert. Brett then responds with "well did you buy the tire here??" I didn't, I told him the tire was the one that came on my car (2019) Brett says "well how do you even know it has something in it. You may just need air. Have you even gotten down to look to see if there is a nail in it. If you haven't how am i supposed to tell my guys what tire to fix" I'm sorry but I thought it was THIS COMPANIES job to fix issues. I did look at my tire but didn't see anything, the previous week and I had to replace another tire so i had a pretty good idea that's what it was. I will NEVER come back and I believe this place needs new management. read more
