This was my first experience with Pep Boys on 2/24/2025. My car broke down on the way to work at around 9 AM. It was a battery system fault, and I tried to fix it myself but couldn't. I am grateful that Pep Boys offers towing and car service as an all-in-one service; this was the perfect situation. The whole process, from towing to car repair, was quick and efficient, and the mechanics at Pep Boys were kind, professional, courteous, and understanding. The job was a quick turnaround; I got back on the road the same day. They aim to help people honestly. They are not the kind of salesman mechanics you may find at other shops. They will tell you the truth about your vehicle situation to help you in the best way possible. They are also reasonably priced for the parts and labor required. They offer financing options and are willing to work with DIY people like me who try to save money and take care of their cars. I've had my car for over 10 years, and working with a shop like this is highly refreshing. I recognize and appreciate Vladimir and Thomas, who both were instrumental in helping me through this time. I went in for a patch at 12:30pm and instead of doing what I asked to be done on my vehicle the mechanic decided to do a full inspection and try to sell me other service. On top of telling me they can't patch my tire and can only sell me a new tire. Just brought my Nissan Frontier in for a 5K tune up.l and oil change. While on the lift, inspection found the LR tire clearly had cord and obvious wear showing. The other three were serviceable for now. Nobody likes getting bad news,however, Thomas reviewed the estimate over with me and the end total was accurate. made an appointment at pep boys for an oil change, tire rotation, and balancing of my tires. came in for my appointment and was told they couldn't honor said appointment because it didn't show in the system. I showed them the confirmation page to which he turned his computer to me and read me all the names that weren't mine as if I was an idiot. I left and called to see if there was a mistake to which the manager said that i could have my appointment and it would take around 2-3 hours to be finished with the car after I wait my turn. He then proceeded to question why I wanted my tires balanced and implied it was a stupid and unnecessary request. they don't care about customer service or about you at all. A whole lot can be improved like people not sending your name on insurance documents so they can get paid overcharging you for just listening to a car and charging you $100 I mean and then overcharging you and then taking your credit card and adding more money to your card when they tell you it was $295 and it ends up being almost $600. Yeah they lied. He signed my name to my insurance papers as well and pep boys won't do the damn thing about I've been calling and calling so you know what yes I would never recommend pep boys again. I called for an appointment and once I arrived for an oil change, $69.99 for Pennzoil synthetic, it took about three hours. I don't mind because this Pep Boys is in the Tower Shops. We were driving when the car alerted us to an issue with the tire. We quickly checked the tire and found there was a nail in it. Pep Boys was the closest repair shop, so we immediately drove there. The staff quickly checked the car and conducted the tire repair. We were in and out in under an hour, amazing! Do not go here. I've been a loyal customer for a number of years. I'll never go back. I had a screw in the middle of my back left tire and I had the warranty package that covers everything to replace my tire. When I got there this morning there was a jumping Scott who had no idea what he was doing. Horrible at figuring anything out couldn't see my warranty or anything that I had because they never update everything correctly on their computer system. Then they measured the depth of my tire. They said it was 4 mm which was not true (I'll get to that later) then they try to oversell me on some tire $375. Then the store manager named Thomas give me a major attitude and told me that all they give is prorated discounts on the tire. He was totally rude and didn't wanna help me at all. I left quickly and I went to one of the competitors. They measured my tire and they said they had no idea what they're talking about. My death of my tire was over six MM and they patched it. They said they got so many people complaining about that Pep Boys and Davie and how they were getting ripped off they love when they hear stories like that. I also blame Thomas's boss Ramses which I've complained about before and I'm still waiting for him to call me back over three years ago. If you can go lower than zero, I would definitely put it. Absolute waste of time and total rip off. This is the second time I've had issues with my proration or whatever it's always some garbage or some stupid excuse. The funny thing is they sent me an email asking to reschedule my appointment that I missed, which I never set up an appointment. STAY AWAY! YOU'RE NOT WELCOMED HERE! That's how I felt going up to the counter in this place. The manager said "hey" and kept on talking to the coworker and said he'd "be with me in a few minutes" as if I should stand there and wait for him to finish his conversation. I waited 30 seconds and walked out. The mechanic saw me, ended up checking out my car and said if I go back inside, they may not be busy now. I decided to give them a second chance and went back in, still no "sorry about the wait", "how can I help you"- so I walked back up to the counter and asked one guy, Vladimir, if he was open. Vladimir did not seem particularly welcoming from the gate. I said Thomas looked at my car and said I needed a new battery and something else. His nastiness immediately got worse and he said he needed to know what exactly was wrong. I told him I don't work there am not a mechanic- he could simply talk to Thomas. He got up in a huff and I asked what the problem was? He acted like he was unable to do that visibly huffed and puffed. I thought the blond guy with the piecing was just another worker because he was right there and witnessed Vladimir being rude and condescending, it apparently the blond fit with the piercing is the manager and did absolutely nothing as as he heard the whole situation and saw me walk out yet again, a second time. I'll also add the initially when I walked in the first time, I was stand at the booth managers register and he was the one ignoring me so poor customer service runs from the top down apparently. The second time I walked out, I was crying. I was shocked to experience and see that people working at a place and that it's their literal job to provide customer service would do such a shitty job at it. I was treated horribly by Vladimir and the manager is implicit- really could be everyone at the shop. Vladimir never apologized or anything and I could tell he was used to treating certain customers like this and getting away with it. The manager ended up playing dumb when the mechanic said I had a bad experience. I told him he was right there when it happened and he was still playing dumb and I was over it. I'll never return to this Pepboys location for service. I'm not sure what it was, but it was glaringly clear that I was unwelcomed here: the ignoring, the rudeness and condescension, huffing and puffing as if it's not their job to provide service. This was my worst car shop experience in all my years. I'd honestly rather pay more for great customer service. I also see an older review from 4-5 years ago mention Vladimir being rude and he is still employed at the shop - clearly customer experience is not important here based on this fact. read more

They had 24 hours to let me know this but didn't. So rude, unprofessional & horrible customer service. Not even an apology, the service tech actually laughed about the situation. Brought my car in to the Tower Shops location to get some routine maintenance before a road trip and had the most awful experience from start to finish.. The work I needed done was simple, air filter change/ fuel filter change/ oil change and a tire rotation. I have been to this location for a couple oil changes in the past and never had a bad experience but this past time was enough to never return. When I picked up my car from having it serviced, the tires had not been rotated (although it was listed on my receipt and my lug for my rims was removed from my car) They refused to change my fuel filter due to the fact that it wasn't already having issues, so preventative maintenance clearly isn't their thing.. My A/C is making noises that it never has before, and my car now shakes when it is idle. Everything that they touched is now mysteriously broken and they are refusing to look at it without charging me. After bringing this to their attention, the employee at the front desk George C. treated me so poorly and spoke to my husband and I, as if we were completely incompetent. His utter disrespect for customers, specifically women, his lies, excuses, and lack of knowledge for services they offer makes me question how he has a job in the first place. I will return tomorrow for the last time to speak with the manager about the damages done to my car and how it can be corrected with out needing to communicate with George and his condescending demeanor. read more

On my way to the mechanic my tire literally starts losing air. I'm close to this place and stop by to see if I can pay for them to put my spare tire on. I didn't have the equipment to do it. I explained to the guy my issue. His response: You need new tires. Me: I know. I'm on my way to the mechanic that's 10 mins from here. I literally just need to make it down the street. Him: You'd have to wait, there are a lot of people in front of you. Me: Yes. I'll wait. I'll pay. No problem. Him: I shouldn't put on the spare, the lug nuts might swell. Me: -_- . I've used my spare plenty of times without an issue. I could get it towed, but that doesn't really make sense if I have a spare. Him: If I put on the spare, Iyour mechanic will have to take it off. Maybe you should just get it towed over there. He then walks away. So, if you aren't going to buy tires, but are willing to pay for other services, they won't help you. I was going to have them do my oil change and windshield wipers since I was already there and had to wait and just get my tires put on Monday morning. Stay away from this place. read more

I brought it in to be replaced under warranty. They switched it out with a substandard brand and cheaper battery than the original. I was in a bind. I knew my battery was starting to go from a couple of days earlier, and had deteriorated more by the time I found myself at Tower Shops in Davie for a haircut. I live in Palm Beach County nowadays, and my mechanic doesn't work on the weekends, so I was stuck between waiting until Monday to bring in my car and hoping my battery would make it... or bite the bullet and bring it to some place close to where I was currently. Being that I've been getting my haircut from the same place for 12 years in Tower Shops, I knew Pep Boys has been around that whole time as well. Having gone in for oil changes in the past when I did live in Davie, I knew they got the job done. Like most auto repair franchises, I'm always a bit iffy to go to one, whether you're worried about being price gauged between parts and labor, or the "worse case scenario" experience is going to happen. I will say my experience was great at Pep Boys. Their service was spot on. They gave me a few options on batteries to purchase. I went with one that should last 4-5 years -- my old one sustained for 6. Being that I should have the car a few more year, I didn't want to have to worry about battery replacement again. I was impressed with the personnel who serviced my car. I was in and out in under 45 minutes to replace not only the battery but one of the terminals that had gone bad. They were timely in providing me with an update, and made sure I had no issues. I'm glad I didn't wait a few more days, and went to Pep Boys. I'm sure I would have ended up on the side of 595, 95, or somewhere I didn't want to be due to a dead battery had I done so. They did their job and did it well. I will never ever go back! They tried to make me purchase four new tires when all I needed was a balancing. Vladimir at the front counter was rude and annoyed when I dropped off my car. Made me feel like I was bothering and inconveniencing him. I was on time for my appt and mentioned I would be waiting in the area. When I called 1.5 hours later to see if they had gotten to me, I was told that all four of my tires were bad and needed to be replaced. My tires are in excellent condition and I knew this. I took my car somewhere else the next day and the guy couldn't believe pepboys tried to make me replace them. He told me I have top-notch tires and they're in perfect condition! Stopping into this particular Pep Boys just prior to Christmas, I had an issue using my Car Care One credit card. Pep Boys had "on sale" a drone that my six-year old son wanted for Christmas. Although ultimately unsuccessful, store manager Adrian Lemus spent almost 40 minutes on the telephone with a supervisor at the credit card company. According to Lemus, this private branded credit card was always an issue. Clean store and friendly staff. Although it was the Christmas rush - and the staff let me know this - they tried their best with the creditor. It feels odd giving Pep Boys even one star as I feel as though a star represents something good and my experience at this store was far beyond good. I chose this auto shop and repair because they are open on Sundays and I wanted the option to leave my car (if necessary) overnight as I dropped it off on a Saturday early afternoon. The customer service was lacking from my first interaction with Pep Boys employees. The gentleman at the cash register/car "check in" did not smile and did not appear to know what he was doing, but assured my brother-in-law (who accompanied me since I'm not too knowledgeable about auto repair) and me that he would call us to let us know if someone had a chance to check out the car's air conditioner by the end of the day. When we didn't receive a call from Pep Boys before they closed, my brother-in-law called them and apparently no one knew if the mechanics had a chance to even look at my car, so they told us that they would call us back the next morning. Of course, this did not happen, so my brother-in-law gave Pep Boys a call the next morning. Again, no one could tell us if my car was even evaluated, so they promised to call "right back" with an answer. We let an hour pass and then my brother-in-law and I just decided to go back to Pep Boys to obtain a status report in person. Well, apparently, nobody evaluated the car and the staff were unable to explain why. Service was terrible. Never had such a rude person wait on me. Gentlemen's name was Richard and his customer service was the worst I have ever seen. He was snippy and had major attitude. Told me job would be done in 30 to 60 minutes and it took 2 hours while him and his fellow employees chatted, texted in their phones on took repeated breaks to eat bags of chips and candy. I've always had a great experience at this Pep boys. Become a member by giving them your phone number and email. You can get some good discounts. Park it by the garage. Walk in and go to the cashiers by the tire center on the right. There's usually a couple guys available. I've had nails in my tires and I bring it to this location to get fixed multiple times. They even fixed nails that were close to the edge of the tires that Costco doesn't fix. $12.71- to pull out the nail, seal it and add air. It saves me so much money instead of buying a new tire. This time it literally took me 10 min to get it repaired but probably cause it wasn't busy at all. I've also had my brakes replaced. Even though it was kind of expensive, they got it done on the same day after a few hours. And I haven't had any issues since. They take appointments here and are pretty busy on weekends. I give this business 2 stars kindly because they will get your car back to you within a good amount of time, most of the time; however, I brought my car in for an oil change recently (have a 2015 accord sport 2.4l), and it's not like it's the first time they've seen me and taken care of me, which is neither here nor there - it's besides the point and rather, that shouldn't be a problem either. I've been a reliable and good customer to them for about a few years now, getting alignments, new tires and brakes, pads, rotors, tire rotations, etc.. The shit they pulled on me last time was the final and only straw needed to prevent me from going there again - $90 for a synthetic oil change! My car takes 4.4 quarts of oil. They use a $36 jug, which comes new with 5 quarts, so they don't even use the whole fucking jug, and they charge $90. These people are scam artists/conmen, and honestly since I paid cash last time, I feel like they tried pocketing the money for themselves! But I couldn't let that go. I went back in the next day to get $30 in cash back, and originally the manager said he'd return $40 back to me after arguing over the phone for 20 minutes. So all in all, I paid roughly $60 for a full synthetic oil change. That's still ridiculous when you can do it yourself for cheaper, and it doesn't require much work at all. Or take it someplace else to get it changed. I hope this place either gets demolished or goes out of business because the people in charge there are incompetent, unloyal and disrespectful. They're idiots working on people's cars. Don't go here. I'm done with this place - boycott it. Their big thing is they'll install parts and a bunch of extra shit you don't need, and then they'll say "your total is $$$," when you honestly don't even know what they're putting on your car, or what parts they're using.
