Went against my first thought and tried to get service even after seeing the reviews. Walked in and nobody was in the lobby around 6ish and asked about a check engine light code. I had an appt., dropped my car off while I went to a store. 2 hours later, I came back and was told they didn't even look at it yet. They told me some other guy came in that had "priority". Why even make an appointment if it's not going to be honored? And then bump me for TWO hours for someone that popped in without an appt? I will never use Pep boys again. read more

My sister goes here very often. Not once was she told that she had a low coolant level OR any fluid. Well, she called me today in a panic and was completely out of coolant, dry as a bone and had to have her car towed! Missed her doc appt and now has to pay for towing! They also told her her oil was at least a quart low and she just had an oil change 2 weeks ago!!!??? THEY SUCK!! read more

The nightmare started in May of this year. I was told by the manager of the shop that the oil leak I had was supposedly a "valve cover gasket leak", and it would cost me over 600. to have it repaired (after these people had changed my oil the month previous). When I gasped at the cost, the manager then called me back later and told me, " Good news! It wasn't your valve cover gasket- it was a leaky O ring. We have installed a new O Ring, done an oil change and replaced all of the spark plugs because they were drenched in oil". I was charged 425.00 for the entire thing- 200 for the parts, and 225. for the labor. I forgot to include that I had to walk the two miles back to my office in 95 degree heat because, " Uber doesn't work out here". I am 68 years old and thankfully in good health. At the end of July, my car stopped in the middle of my street because it had no oil! I called the corporate office to complain, then spoke with the manager of the Griffin store, and he was especially upset with the idea that I had complained "after everything I have done to help you!" He was adamant that they had fixed my car and I was being completely unreasonable. I even had a mechanic of 40 years speak with him to explain the issue. THEN, on Monday of THIS week August 22, when the car was started, the car spit out billows of white smoke! Once again, the car faltered driving down my street and half way to Griffin to my office. The white smoke was not continuous but only spewed when the car was started. When I started the car at lunchtime, the car billowed the white smoke. A client was walking by (who happened to be a mechanic) was able to discover that there was oil leaking into the anti-freeze. When I called the mechanic of 40 years, he also agreed that it was THE O RING that was leaking. I now have three mechanics who are in agreement that this was not fixed correctly if at all. I now have to have the O ring replaced and additional repairs done to my car. Since I live in Marietta, but work in Griffin, I also have to rent a car so that I have some way to get to work while my car is being repaired. This has been a VERY expensive lesson. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PEP BOYS. When I asked a local Griffin mechanic about the leak and if they could repair it quickly, he asked me where I had had it fixed in the first place. When I told him Pep Boys on N. Expressway, he replied " Oh! It figures! We get their "fixes" in here all the time!" DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE TOUCH YOUR CAR UNLESS YOU DON"T MIND GETTING RIPPED OFF AND TREATED RUDELY. read more

After my husband check my tires (due to the low pressure alert from the car) he realize that my rear passenger tire had a nail in it. So after riding around on it for maybe a week or so, knowing that the tire needed to be plugged, I decided to go on my lunch break. I was greeted as soon as I entered with a smile and assisted immediately after the customer had left the front counter. I was told that it will take 5 to 10 minutes. Although I was there about an hour and a half I will say they did continue to touch base with me and let me know the process. I was informed that they had run out of plugs and had ordered some and they also checked on it 2 or 3 times to make sure that the delivery was definitely on its way. I can always appreciate being told what is happening along the way. They were extremely friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend this location and the plug was actually done for free. I love a deal. The sales associate Matthew and the store manager David were extremely helpful and pleasant. read more

No appointment made. Oil change on vehicle went without a hitch. Personnel and service seemed to be just fine. Hot coffee was available. The problem - hope you don't need to use the bathroom while you're there! Thank God I stand to pee! I want to add the photos I took. This was the most disgusting bathroom, ever. Worse than any abandoned truck stop, and probably worse than anything found in a two-dollar whore house! I'd be specifically descriptive of the scene, but people don't want to read about the urine and fecal matter all over the toilet, toilet paper scattered all over floor, and even worse - the sink - oh, gosh... i was even scared to touch it, to turn it on! I love this store and the employees working there especially Mr. Daniel Adams. I live in Florida,however, I have my 18 year old daughter that lives in Griffin, Georgia. She is very hard on cars. I have her take her vehicle to this location four times. Mr.Adams has taken care of my child and her vehicle like he was her brother. They are very honest, I had other establishments in Griffin that basically tried to rob me. The work they perform is A+++++. This is the worst place ever. They only care about your money! They cost us $1500 that we did not have to pay. Nothing was wrong and nothing was fixed. Had light to come on in one car. They did work and left with light still on. They did not care. Had oil changed and caused a leak. Filed a complaint and never heard back. Said my van with 200, 000 miles on it didn't have a cracked head so they did work. next day it blew up. Had to buy a new van. read more
