Came in here twice to get a screeching sound taken care of in my car, paid over 500 each visit. They told us the car was done and to come pick it up, we sat there with my 2 year old in the car for over 2 hours waiting for it to be done. Each time they came back with more things to be fixed, and still the screeching sound is still there and I have to take it somewhere else to get it fixed. Won't ever send my car to this place again. Update i had to sell my car this place messed it up so much that it stopped working in the middle of the road in the middle of a intersection. Had to get it towed to the nearest place they told me nothing was fixed that the cables to the battery needed to be fixed and i needed another battery. I said forget it. read more

Ok so I normally go to competitors but we needed four tires for my son's car who was getting ready to go back to college out of state and we were looking for deals. Pep boys had an online special of four Starfire RS-C 2.0 for $325 which may not be the best tires out there but they looked good for the price. So we made an appointment online, four hours prior. We get there and they could not find anything in there system for our appointment (glad I decided the option to pay in store because only God knows what would have happened with that). I can tell you details of everything that happened that to me was very unprofessional but I'm sure I'll run out of space here so I'll just finish with this. When we got there I saw no cars in their bays so we figured we would be in and out. It took 1:45 hrs to get new tires installed and about 20 mins to pay. I did get a good price. read more

Man this place is a joke bought a battery for my vehicle. 3 months later it goes bad. Bring it in and he takes it back and 3 min. Later walks back with it and says all is good. So put my car in the shop. After paying that shop 100.00to check everything they stated its the battery so I bring it back to the store. And the store rep says we need to put it on the charger for 15 minutes. One hour later and was still waiting. In the mean time I listened to them lie to several people on the phone and sell them things that were totally wrong. But finally 1:15 into the visit he comes back out and states the battery is bad. And then I had to pay a 3.00 fee. Wow If you want true service don't go here. If you want to be lied to and given the wrong info this is your store!! read more

Wow!!! Had a flat tire on a Sunday we're most places are open. Fortunately, the spike in my tire did not prevent me from driving it to this location and I swapped out my spare for the flat. 98 breeze outside and I was sure don't want to do this myself. Matthew and Justin got the spare down and changed in no time at all. They offered to put the spare back under the vehicle and I told him just to leave the cargo space Later to bite the bait actually put plastic underneath it to protect the carpet. Let me just start off by saying I have given this place numerous chances, so my review is long overdue. I came a couple years ago due to some issue I was having with my gas tank light. The gentleman who helped me, whose name I REALLY wish I remembered, was so sweet. He gave me his card and told me we could call him anytime we had issues. Really enjoyed chatting with him over our families, etc. and he was letting me know what could wait on my bill, what shouldn't wait, and what a recommendation for a budget friendly fix would be, etc. Needless to say, he is the reason I said I would come to this location. Fast forward some time, we needed a part for our windows. Called the store, specifically asked for the item. The gentleman said he checked and the item was available. We then made the drive to the store, which isn't the closest, and the couple people we spoke with said they don't carry the item. We double checked the phone number and verified it was the right store, and the man's voice was with such an southern accent and heavy voice it wasn't hard to miss. But none the less, we dismissed that as sometimes inventory reads can be wrong. This would later be strike 1. The second time we came in was to have a tire replaced that was under warranty. I'd been having to put air in it for some time, and when I went to a different place with a relative he told me there was a nail in my tire. I told him it was under warranty so I would take it to get replaced that way. So that evening the gentlemen said that there was a nail but it was artificial and they were able to pull it out and it wouldn't cause a leak. I asked them to double check because the air was coming out and causing the sensor to go off. Again, they told me that they checked all around and I did see them do so with a flashlight. After insisting, they dipped the tire and saw a few more nails. Unfortunately, there was not a tire of my kind on hand an another store would have to deliver it. I asked them if they could patch it up, and they said no. They put my spare on and advised it would be there tomorrow and that it would be covered under my warranty. Fair enough. In the same visit, we went to the front to buy some snacks for the kids while we were waiting on our car to be looked at - so before all of the above. The girl just pointed to the back service desk. I turned and gave her a questionable face, she told me they would have to check me out. I saw her manager there and she was taking her register, it was 30 mins to closing so fair deal. Not so fair - I went to put something back up front, and the same girl was checking out a patient buying the same snacks we were. The girl hung around the store afterwards and purposefully avoided eye contact. Don't want to accuse someone of anything prejudicial, but oh the red flags. This will be strike 2. Back to the tire, I came in the next day and they said my tire didn't come in and hasn't left the other store. That serviceman told me they could plug it. But I asked repeatedly about my new tire, he said that it would be here for sure Monday and they weren't sure what was going on with the driver because they hire a third vendor to do those drives on weekends, etc. but that for sure it would be in on Monday. It was Christmas so I figured he may have overlooked that, but I wanted a new tire not just a plugged one. He assured me that the tire would be delivered but that my plugged tire would be okay until then. So now it is Friday before New Year, my Uncle drives on my behalf and is told that the serviceman told me he cancelled that tire order because the plugged tire would be fine. I advised that was not the case. I even went back to check my messages because I was texting a girl friend the updates as to what was going on, and sure enough I told her that the gentleman told me my tire would be in and we could replace it then but for now it is plugged. They reordered the tire, again, and said the manager at the store assured they had it and they would call me when it came in the next afternoon. They did call me back after I followed up and let me know the tire was there, but now I had to pay half price because of the warranty time, etc. which was never explained in all the other conversations. So this was my Strike 3, and I'm out. I told my uncle we didn't need to fight it, to just leave. But because they acted irritated with him after we had to return three times before finally getting our service, along with being rudely treated by a cashier and given mis-information, we will not return. read more

These guys have terrible service and absolutely no clue about TPMS systems. The tire pressure light on my 07 Camry started flashing, then staying on; the manual states that this indicates a TPMS malfunction, and the internet says the most common cause is a dead sensor (which only lasts 5-7 years. So since the Pep Boys website states that they offer a free TPMS checkup, I took it in to see what they had to say. An hour and a half later, I noticed my car parked out front, and went to the counter to see what was going on. The guy at the counter had no clue which car was mine, and handed me the key I pointed at and said "no charge". When I asked what the problem was, he ran to the shop and then came back and said "The left front sensor was bad, so we replaced it". I went out and started the car, and the tire pressure light was still blinking, so I went back inside and asked again. This time he went to the back and came out saying "There's something wrong with the TPMS, you have to go the dealer". All in all I wasted 2 hours to learn absolutely nothing I didn't know. The only reason they get 2 stars is because they didn't charge me anything for their incompetence. read more

Not good customer service. Went in for oil change (no appointment) so I first asked if there was a wait. No wait-great! About 5 min seated and they pulled my car in the shop. An hour later, I go to the front desk and ask how much longer. Was told they were changing oil for another car, and mine was next in line. So much for no wait. Was told another 30-40 minutes before I would be done, so I asked to have my car back to leave. I don't mind waiting when I don't have an appointment. Just stood at the checkout counter for 10 minutes waiting to be helped without a single associate acknowledging me. There was one other customer in the store at the service counter. This has been a recurring trend everytime I visit this location. The staff here is also very unpersonable. There is an older lady that works here that always looks extremely unenthusiastic and isn't extremely willing to help. Will not be returning to this location. read more

I checked tire prices and stock online and picked out a set advertised for $65 each before driving almost an hour to get here, as it is the closest location near my house. When I arrived I was told that I could only have those tires special ordered and would have to wait a week for them. I was then bullied into buying the road hazard warranty and when my car was on the lift the manager came out and told me that I needed to shell out another few hundred bucks for new shocks, otherwise my car would implode as soon as I drove away (or something to that effect), even though I told them repeatedly that I JUST wanted new tires to pass my state inspection and that my car literally gets driven once a week at best to the store about 4 miles away. The staff was very rude and condescending, I would NOT recommend this place and WILL NOT be coming back for future services. Avoid this place at all costs unless you're in the mood to be treated poorly then ripped off. And a word of advice to the ladies: Bring your own reading material. They have an ample stock of gear-head magazines and ONE cooking magazine geared for women. The little LCD in the "customer" waiting area was locked to the NFL playoffs with a sign warding off anyone who might attempt to change it. The employees were constantly coming out of the shop area (away from working on cars) to check the scores and whatnot on this TV....isn't that what breaks/a breakroom is for? Isn't the "customer waiting lounge" supposed to be a comfortable place for customers to wait? read more

I am greeted with a welcome to pep boys when I walk in the doors and there has always been someone there to listen to my concerns. I have shopped here before and noticed that the attitudes in the store are great! I don't know about the negative comments I read but they have shown me exceptional service. The headlight on my van was burned out and I went over to Pep Boys to get a new bulb. Ricardo was at the counter and he helped me pick out the right item I needed. He explained to me my options for the bulb including the brightness compared to the price factor. This was very informative/ When I asked him if I could get a hand at installing it, he was quick to offer a helping hand and in a few minutes, he had it replaced on my car. Customer service needs work at this store. Dropped my car off to get serviced at 6 am and no one bothered to check the drop off box provided. Bottom line, my car wasn't looked at until after 4pm and didn't get it back until after 6pm. A whole day wasted for them to change an O2 sensor. read more

I needed a transmission oil change after driving about 30000miles. I religiously change my oil every 3-4000 miles. I was referred to this location by another Pep Boys because their transmission oil change machine was down. I called in to this location, spoke with Crystal, gave details of my car and was told to go to the dealer. What is the point of opening up shop if you are just going to deny business? They did not even see my car. Called customer relations and filled a complaint, they said that they will follow up, we'll see. read more

I always come here for my tires. However, they never seem to have the brand of tires I get in stock. I always call beforehand and get told on the phone that they are in stock, but after arriving at the place its a different story. They always have to get them sent in from a different location or I have to go to that location. (I come to this one first because it's the closest to my house) On 05/21/19 I came here after discovering that one of my tires had a nail in it and needed to be replaced. Since my tires are from here and they're under warranty I came here. I checked in and explained my situation and they told me I would be taken care of. I had been waiting at least an hour before they told me they didn't have my tires in stock and that I needed to go to the Perry location where they had them in stock. When I got to the Perry location they said they didn't have my tires in stock either but that they would figure something out for me. I went to 3 different locations that day. First, the Louetta location sent me to this one because they didnt have my tires and said this location did, then this location said they didnt have my tires either and they sent me to the Perry one. It was there that the guy was the most helpful after I explained it was my third location that day and he shared my annoyance with the service of the other places as well. read more

I took my vehicle to pep boys in Little rock Arkansas to have tires replaced. In doing so they damaged my 22 inch chrome wheels. I returned to Houston Texas and took my truck to this Pep Boys to file a complaint. But before i could do that the Service Manager Ms Btissma and Mr. Andrew proceeded to fix my problem with no issues. Mr Andrew has been an excellent sales rep in assisting me. In my humble opinion. Mr. Andrew has went above and beyond to assist me with my problem. I would recommend this particular pep boys to anyone if you are looking for outstanding Customer Service satisfaction Guaranteed. However his great efforts have been diminished by his claims department that have been giving him a run around on his Ernest efforts to support his customer. read more

I'm the only customer waiting. Was told an oil change would take less than an hour. An hour later I ask how much longer it will take and the manager tells me they'll get to it when they finish another customers car. (Remember I'm the only one waiting). Took 1 hour and 20 minutes before they even drained the oil. Never coming back... I was promptly contacted by the store manager who refunded my money. This is my 2nd time to this Pep Boys and I have never had a issue. I made a overnight appointment to get a oil change and to fix a flat/buy a tire. When I arrived there was no issue with the guys finding my appointment. Prior to going to the location I went on their website and did my homework on the kind of tires I wanted to see if they had in stock. FYI: Anytime your a woman and your dealing with your car...if you DO NOT have a guy available to go with you then YOU need to do your own homework and have your ducks in a row and KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND STICK TO YOUR GUNS! That is with Pep Boys, car dealerships, etc. I arrived with my list and I knew what I wanted and I knew what the cost should be! I found tires on-line that I was interested in. I had a choice of 3 I wanted to see about. I wrote down the names the sku number etc. I was ready. There was a tire that I wanted to just simply buy on-line and have the guys at Pep Boys to put on. Will when I attempted to buy it THE PEP BOYS WEBSITE advised me that the tire had to be mailed out and the website would not even allow me to set a appointment until Saturday. So if you find a tire you want try and buy it on-line and that will tell you if the location even has it in stock. Will the guys did not have the tire I wanted on stock, so Daniel went out his way to speak to his boss about giving me a clearance tire that was priced for $121 for the price of the tire I found on-line and his boss quickly agreed. Daniel gave me the tire for $85. I also had a coupon for my oil change but my car took more oil then the ad offered, but Daniel worked that out. The estimated price was $201 I almost freaked out! I demanded that Daniel explain how in the heck this came up to this price and he did. They did add road hazard I demanded it be removed and Daniel removed it without any issues and told me my bill would not be that high. Daniel said my car would be ready in 1 hr and it was. My price end up being only $149 for the tire the flat fix and the oil change. The guys also found a nail in my front tire and Daniel had it fixed free of charge. Also during my visit no guys ever came from the work area to look at the TV. When I was paying my bill I was advised that my brakes were getting low. I thanked the guys for the info and that was the end of that...there was no hard sale it was just informative information. I would like to thank Daniel and the guys at Pep Boys for helping out a broke law student. I told Daniel I could only pay $150 and he made it happen! I was going to go to Walmart for a tire and the cheapest one they had for my car was $135 but I went and got everything done at Pep Boys for $149 I left feeling great! read more

JOKE, OVERCHARGED. So basically my car needed a Hermonic Balancer and a belt.. I told them to make an estimate then call me once they had a price. One hour later they called to inform me that they wanted SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS which is totally unreasonable (googled a couple parts and they were no more than $50) once I came to pick up my car to take it somewhere else I looked through the invoice and here was their breakdown. Over $200 for labor, over $300 for parts and about $100 for miscellaneous things. My problem is on the invoice they charged me TWICE for the same part SCAM ARTISTS.. then their labor panned out to be $200 for one hour to fix it... HA! they even slapped on 3 different warranties not including a warranty for their labor which is just ABSURB.. when I came to take my car elsewhere and told them "with all due respect I am not naïve and I know I am being overcharged" the worker BILLY told me to cut out my attitude when all I was stating (with all due respect I said) that I was being overcharged (which was correct, I was being overcharged) basically this place is a SCAM there are other local shops so don't setltle for the price these guys give you just because they think you don't know anything. I had a backup camera installed to my car here a week ago and I called multiple times in advance to make sure they would be able to do it on a Friday morning since I don't live in the area. They told me they were able to do it and had all the available parts. I get there on Friday morning and the manager tells me they actually don't have the backup camera at this location and tells me I'd have to wait 30 minutes for one of his employees to go pick it up. The 30 minutes actually turned into an hour and a half. At this point, I'm a little annoyed but I still want them to finish the job which takes another hour and a half (I expected it would take about an hour or so to finish the job). The tech actually did a good job of installing the camera and monitor but they never told me the monitor wasn't hard wired to the fuse box and that a wire would be hanging down from the mirror to the cigarette lighter... So now I have a "ghetto"ish backup camera. It took about three and a half hours to complete everything and I wish I hadn't gotten it installed. The only positive from all this was that the camera actually does work (all-be-it a little slow/laggy) and the manager gave me a whopping 10% discount for making me wait an additional two and a half hours... yeah! boy, this place I tell you the truth. They and drive time or just in it for the money. Do not go to this place if you do you will surely regret it. Here's why! I was having problems with my car stopping on its own. I noticed that my brake light would be on when my car was off. I didn't think any thing of it until the next day when I was driving about 40 mph when my car just suddenly braking on its own, it did this about 6 times while I was on the feeder with my kids in the car. So in distress I drove back home and called drive time, of course they gave me the full screening of what is and what could not be covered and to call pep boys and have a tow truck com pick the car up. If the car was to be covered under the maintenance of the drive train warranty that I wouldn't have to pay anything and everything would be covered. So after a couple of days in the shop I get a call back saying that my brake light switch was out and that it would cost 14 dollars and 60 dollars for labor which is stupid its just a fucking snap on housing. So I said ok no big deal, the next day I get another call back from drive time telling me that it was going to cost 1,200 dollars to fix my car. I told them what tha hell for, what did you all check. They said they that all brakes needed to be changed the rotors needed to be changed the brake fluid needed to be changed I needed a new battery right tail light was out front left head light was out. She said because its a brake issue that drive time wouldn't cover it. I told her I just changed my brakes a few months ago and my fluids. I know the a tail light is out and a front light is out and my battery needed to be changed. All I wanted to know was what was causing my car to stop on its own, how tha hell did it go from 14 dollars to 1,200 dollars. Any way, so I went up there to pep boys and I asked them about my car, she straight up said that it would cost 1,200 to fix everything. I said well before we get to that, did you all test drive the car. 2 of the maintenance guys said yes we did. I asked them, well ok did the car stop on you, he told me no. I looked at him with a confused look on my face. I said what, it stopped on me 6 times she said oh wow we didn't hear anything about that. We just know the brake light switch was out. first of all the two maintenance guys I was talking to couldn't even look me in the eye when I was talking to them and now I was starting to get suspicious. He said he drove it for 5 miles and it didn't stop on him at all. so I asked her to give me a copy of everything that was checked. I took the paper work and showed it to my dad, he works on cars too but its an age factor. He said why are they charging you in packages. a battery shouldn't cost 250 to replace. you can only imagine what the other packages said. So I did my own research, If the brake light switch was out and not was working properly, then how could they test drive the car... unless they unplugged the switch. Turns out that is exactly what they did. They unplugged it and that would explain why it didn't stop on them. So I looked on you tube about the brake light switch and guess what I found out... there is a plunger right underneath the switch that when the brakes or not depressed that it will tell the car when to brake. Two things can happen here, either your switch is out or there is a hole in the plunger from over time ware and tear. So I finally got paid and my wife drove me up there and i went in and paid the 114.00 to get my car out because I wasn't going to pay 1,200 dollars for this shit and notice that they couldn't put the car in reverse. So the manager came out that was in charge of everything and pressed the manual release lock to put the car in reverse. So I did that and followed my wife home, so the first thing I did was take the panels off the to get to the switch and sure enough there was a hole in the plunger. The switch cant depress it's self if its going through the hole, so I had to go get a new battery that needed to be replaced. I got one at Wal-Mart for 120.00 so I can start the car and press the brakes down and install a new plunger through the metal brackets. I plugged the brake light switch in and guess what happened next... absolutely the opposite of what they told me. The car works just fine and the reverse works just fine and there was nothing wrong with the switch at all when I test drove my car and all it took was 6 dollars to replace. I checked my breaks they are a little worn but not to the specification of replacements. So here is my advice, (1) when the car shop calls you and asked you what's going on with your car. Don't tell them what you think is wrong with the car, tell them what's going on with the car there is a difference. (2) If they say oh ok so it's a brake problem, tell them I don't know, all I know is this is what's going own other wise they are going to work based off what you tell them exactly. Brought my car in for a knocking sound when you turn. I even told the guy behind the counter it sounds like the drive axles. The next day I get a call saying that I have bushings out of my control arms and that is where the noise is coming from.We went back and forth for a minute and I told him to go ahead and fix it. A few days later my wife picks up the car and drives it home. Same noise coming from the front while turning. So I called pep boys and ask them if they even test drove my car to see if they fixed the problem. The answer I got is that yes it was but the technician had the ac on and that is why he didn't hear it. Really this is how your mechanic test drives a car that was brought in for making noise!!! So I brought the car back and insisted they check the drive axles, and it was. But I just spent $580 on replacing bushings. I asked the manager to make it right so he gave me $100 off the drive axles. When asked for the old bushing parts back I was told they threw them away, how convenient. I was hoping for some of my $580 back seeing how they mis diagnosed it in the first place. But that didn't happen. This place used to be a good place to have your car fixed but it seems like they are just a shade tree stop and shop. At the end they replaced both axles and my car is on the road again. But this was a horrible experience. Next time I will use Yelp before bringing my car to anyone for service. read more
