It takes an lot to ruffle my feathers, so to speak, but this is the most deplorable excuse for an auto shop I have ever encountered. GO ELSEWHERE if you want decent service. I went to return a used battery after purchasing one the week before. The apparent manager named Hiram was not only unwilling to help me because I did not have a receipt, which I accept I should have maintained, despite never being told to keep it. Hiram was outrageously disrespectful to me personally, and would talk over me with a smirk on his face while I vainly attempted to reason with the man. He was so unprofessional and insulting, that I left leaving my battery there, without any refund. Incidentally, the woman ahead of me, stated "i am done with pep boys!' and marched out. I am unaware of her circumstances and won't go on to assume anything, but she was dealing with the same "manager" , Hiram, so you can do the math. Deplorable excuse for a business. read more

My 16 year old nephew went there for his first oil change on his first car with a coupon from pep boys for oil change for 20 dollars. When he got there the guy behind the counter said that the coupon was good and it would take about an hour to do. When my nephew came back an hour later they said it wasn't done yet. Finally after 3 hours it was done. When he went to pay for it they pulled the old bait and switch and said that he needed synthetic oil and was going to charge him 80 dollars. My nephew said that there was a different guy at the counter now and that the new guy said the other guy shouldn't have accepted the coupon my nephew had. The new guy said he could take 20 dollars of the 80 and charge him 60. Those people should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of a 16 year old kid on his first oil change. Wasted my time today. Went in to have license plate light replaced (1 of 2 bulbs are out) and they called me 2.5 hours later to tell me that my car doesn't have a light above the plate and that the car doesn't even have the wiring to put one in. They said I would have to take it to a place that installs LED lights on cars. I argued over the phone that it's definitely there but they were adamant it didn't exist. I figured they're the professionals and I shouldn't argue with them so when I went to get the car I didn't say anything and came straight home. Looking at the car from the outside you can see the wiring and see that there is a bulb working and a bulb not working. It's clear that they didn't even look because it's physically visible from outside of the car without removing anything at all. I feel disrespected and insulted. read more

HORRIBLE service! We waited for 20 minutes for service. Then tells me my car will go in right away. 10 minutes later my car is still in the parking lot. THEN, I was told 30 minutes for the oil change. Me thinks NOT! I took my car & left! Slow as molasses! Stay away from this Jiffy Lube! read more

Bad service. Called me and told me what was wrong with car and I authorized repair. They called back 5 hours later to tell me what was wrong with the car asking for authorization to initiate repair. I told them we had already spoken in the AM. They said, must have been a car mix up. Your repair will now cost 3x more than call earlier. And your car won't be ready until much later in the day. Well I am sitting here one hour before they close for the night and still no car. Poorly run operation here. Need new management. I should say that Christian was helpful though. read more

I've had some bad experiences with pep boys and I was reluctant to try again. Yesterday I had a check engine light turn on and the Internet told me pep boys will run the codes for free. I decided to give them another shot. I was immediately impressed as associates were quick to help and instruct me to drive around and they provided me the codes in a few min for free. Ran the codes through the Internet and suggested I try a few fuses. Sure enough I had a blown fuse and I went back inside to buy a few fuses. Replaced in the parking lot and the check engine light was gone. Thanks pep boys. read more

Had a screw in my tire gibs morning. Got it off the car put the spare on and drove up there. I was out in less than ten minutes with a plugged tire. AND they did it for free. The technician was fast and friendly. Would recommend! read more

Outstanding customer service and repair experience. We had an issue with our 2008 Pontiac. We thought it was a battery issue so we went to them for a replacement battery. The repair evolved into a much more complicated matter. Instead of pushing the blame onto anyone else, they took steps to repair the vehicle and make sure we were satisfied and the car was running. Robert and Daniel were professional, courteous and given the circumstances could have taken advantage of us., but they did not. A lot of people here in Jupiter have had very bad experiences with Pep Boys on Indiantown Road.Items missing from their car and Pep Boys not doing the work they were paid to do, like tire rotation, etc.They are thieves. They took a 50.00 gas card from the console of our car. I noticed a small spot of grease on the console and when I looked in the gas card was gone. We took the car in for oil change and tire rotation, they did not need to access the middle console. We reported it to the manager, he said he would "look into it", but who knows whether he did anything. We have never gone back read more

I have always bought my motor oil at Pep Boys. Tried to return used oil today but was told that I could only drop off one gallon. Since my car takes one and one half gallons this policy does not work for me. If I cannot reliably drop off my oil at Pep Boys my only alternative is to stop buying their oil and go elsewhere. I had to get tires immediately, I called all over but no one had 230/50 18s in stock that were of reasonable price. Pep had some, and tire kingdom. Pep beat the price, and when I went I was helped by Joe. The guy was awesome asked what i needed and said I'll take care of you. He looked at my quoted internet price and without hesitation rang me up for the same price. He was extremely knowledgeable and very professional something that you rarely get at a garage. My wife was shocked at how quickly they got me in and out. I was further surprised when Ely called me the next day to check on how my experience was, but was not pushy told me to call back if i had any concerns. I do agree with some reviews that an oil change takes forever. But one day my Granddaughter was sick and while waiting for her prescription my Car battery died. I called Pep Boys and with in 10 mins, they met me, jumped started My car and I followed them back to their shop. I switched my business to Pep Boys for Tires and other small services. I currently drive a BMW which I have found some of the other retail chains to have issues with. I have had a great experience with the service staff! I have let them know this in the past. Well today I dealt with one retail employee her name being Fr e dd ie. She has no business working in any establishment. She was on her cell phone the entire time checking out the customers in front of me and myself. When I told her what I wanted she just kept saying oh not sure what that means. I was asking for a car battery! Finally I walked away from her and got a gentlemen who quickly located the battery for me. I then had to checkout with her which was one heck of a task for her as well. I told her I had a ten dollar off coupon for my $180 dollar battery she couldn't figure it out. I said forget it and just paid the money because I was about to tell her how I felt. Should I mention she signed me up for rewards card without even asking me. Ill change my rating once this bad seed is gone. read more

Picked a set of tires from their website, Scheduled an appointment to have the tires installed, showed up 5 min before my appointment and they did not have the tires in stock. What a waste of my time. To make it even better, they sent me an email saying I missed my appointment and wanted me to reschedule. Guess that's to cover their $&@ from corporate. read more

This place is terrible. When someone finally does talk to you at the service counter they act like its a chore. I brought in my vehicle for an oil change and they had to order the filter. They said two hours so I said I would come back. Five hours later it finally and in but was too late that day for me. So I made an appointment for a Sunday morning. Brought it in about 20 min earlier than my appointment and 1 hour later they still had not stated on my vehicle. They of course offered no apology for the wait. read more

Be carful using these guys. They will try to sell you services you don't even need. I went in to get a headlight bulb changed. They were busy but they looked at my car verified they had the bulb in stock and a set an appt for the next morning. I went back the next morning and the guy behind the counter a/k/a Justin, grab a bulb and walked out to my car, looked at the light and asked me if I knew if I needed a halogen or HID bulb. I told hm I didn't know and that's why I wAs here. He told me it was my responsibility to know not theirs and told me to take the car to my dealer to have this done. Really??? I asked him if someone else was available to look at it. He said no not that day. I asked when someone would be and he told me the next day. I asked him if I could set an appt with that person the next day and he did that and proceeded to tell me that they would charge me $50 to do an electric inspection to make sure there wasn't an electrical issue and that the bulb could costs me $99, so I needed to be prepared for the $150 costs the next day. I went home googled the type of bulb I needed, found out just by looking at the outside casing it shows your bulb type and replacement number. Hmm, wonder why Pep Boys didn't know that? Called JiffyLube, they had the bulb I needed, went there was greeted with a smile, they changed the bulb in about 20 mins and charged me $23. No electric issue, just a burnt out bulb. Avoid Pep Boys. Instead go see the staff at Jiffy Lube. read more

Terrible Service, never going back I had an engine light problem and went in to get it checked out. The first solution was to replace gas cap. That did not solve the problem so I come back in. They tell me they need to do a smoke test to determine where a possible fuel leak is, so I schedule an appointment. My appointment come around and the mechanic informs me that the person who knows how to do the smoke test is not there today (why they scheduled the appointment on that day or didn't call me is a mystery). I end up rescheduling. I do some research and determine that the code pulled is a common problem in my make and model vehicle and has to do with evaporation canister. I tell the employees this and they agree this is likely the problem. They say they can order the part, and swap it out, so I again schedule an appointment. When I come in for the appointment, I find out that they have ordered the wrong part. They tell me it's their mistake and get the new part ordered. Since it was their mistake, two employees tell me at separate times that they will give me a discount on the part because of the ordering mistake. That is, they would just charge me the price for the mistakenly ordered part. I am happy because the correct part costs roughly $200 more. I agree and schedule ANOTHER appointment and drive with my car still not fixed. At this point, I really need to get my car fixed so I call to confirm the part number and order it myself on Amazon for a lower price just in case there is another part-mix up, knowing that I can return for free to Amazon. I store this in the back seat of my car. My appointment rolls around and I go to the desk and confirm that they have the correct part in and they will install it. I get my car back and everything seems to be fine. In actuality, they took the part from the backseat of my car and installed it, instead of using the one they ordered and installed it. I think this actually constitutes THEFT. Then they try to charge my for the part they ordered, which is actually crazy. I would avoid them at all costs. read more

I got great service today at Pep Boys. The service manager Robert was courteous and thorough when checking me in to get tires. He told me the tire job and a front end alignment would take two hours. The entire job was done an hour and a half and I was completely satisfied. I would recommend this location for new tires. read more

The only good thing about this store is they have a/c while ya wait. Went for two new tires, spent almost $600. They mixed road tires with my all Tourane that causes my vehicle to shake...after taking it back and pointing out their mistake they wanted to charge me another $500 dollars to fix their mistake. I waited there from 1:30pm to 6:45pm after being told it would only be an hour and 30 min. Wait... Needless to say their mistake was never fixed... I was disgusted with the service... The "low tire pressure" light came on in my car as I was about to drive back to Port Saint Lucie. I found Pep Boys on my maps feature. The manager there was friendly and prompt when greeting me. He asked me to pull my car around to the service area so one of the service guys could check my tires. Travon was super nice and would not accept the tip I offered... No charge for the air! extremely disappointed with this place. had a flat tire and was a half mile from the location. called pep boys to see what the towing was. The representatives told me its covered theres nothing for us to worry about and we dont owe a thing. the next day im getting charged 50$ for a half mile of towing and another 50 for just putting the tire on! so they wanted me to pay a total of 200$ for one tire. read more

The desk is always quick to give me the information I need, they quote prices that are right, and they do the work in a timely manner. I'm in the "Glove Box" program. They check fluid levels and refill them for me pleasantly. They rotate my tires when needed, too. I've taken my vehicle there several times and they treat me right. When I was traveling across the country, they took care of everything. I recommend Pep Boys for any service and plan to continue taking my vehicle to them in the future. read more

The smell was awful but they stayed after it until it was removed. Anthony was able to fish it out with a coat hanger and to top it all off they did not charge me. Worst experience in an auto store!!!!! Most of the time, when a person goes to an auto store service department, they are in some kind of need or distress. That was my case, and I went to Pep Boys thinking I was going to get the help I needed from professionals. Well, they turned me away! I explained I was on vacation, my kids were in the car, and my battery went dead twice already and I needed a new battery. Kind strangers had jumped the battery twice that day already. They told me they had no appointments available. No appointments! I had an emergency! They told me I could leave the car and they would get to it some time tomorrow. I am from New York and know nobody in Florida. So I left....crying. I googled "auto service" from my phone and found a Tire Kingdom nearby. They were busy, but helped me and were also very kind to me and my children. It took 10 minutes to change my battery! They didn't charge me for labor and also checked the tire pressure for me. Those are professionals and I will write a soaring review for them. I am forever grateful to the employes at Tire Kingdom and will recommend them HIGHLY. My friends in New York know what happened and agree that Pep Boys is the last place they would go for service if that is how they treat a woman in distress. Pep Boys needs to train their employees in some common decency toward human beings. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband needed two tires, both on the driver side. I personally changed the one tire with my husband, since we had a full size spare. We were able to have the car towed and paid for 2 new tires. We get the car back and to our surprise, the spare was still left on the car! We called immediately when we realized it and left a message for management to call us back. I received a call from Nick, the manager and flat out said to me, "I was told by your husband to change the back two tires since the back two tires are different sizes than the front". Excuse me? We never said anything about both rear tires; we specifically told them that BOTH of the drivers side tires needed to be replaced. Funny, not one person from that store told us when we picked up the car, yet as per Nick, my husband and I are liars. I changed the front tire. I'm pretty sure I knew which tires needed to be replaced. Instead of just trying to make customers happy, he was argumentative towards me telling me my husband did not tell him it was both drivers side tires that needed to be replaced. Poor customer service, to say the least. I don't know how this place is still in business. read more

Every time I go to pep boys for parts they only have one person at the counter and you wait and wait. Then they know nothing about cars only what they see on a computer screen. So to help last time I found all the part #s for them went to the store nobody at the counter or customers so as usual I waited and waited. Finally someone showed up looked at my order said he could do it put it down and waited on another customer that came in. I was shocked after waiting so long. About this time another pep boys employee who works the parts counter strolls up to his register again no other customers. So I ask him if he coul gather the parts and he just says oh no he can do it when he's done and continues to just stand there.i was furious so I took my list of about 400.00 worth of parts and went to advanced auto parts who by the way gave me outstanding service. They treated me like there customers are the reason they stay in business. Don't get me wrong I gave pep boys many chances and almost every time there service sucked so bad I left wondering why I went there. So if you want parts in jupiter start at advanced they know about cars and they will give a discount of 10% that will almost always make it cheaper than pep boys without the aggravation. Pep boys needs to change there customer service. I am not the only mechanic that feels this way. read more
