i have been using pep boys in north miami for at least 6 years. i am a snowbird and spend the winter in florida. while i was visiting a friend on pembroke road, i decided to get an oil change and tire rotation at midas near my friend's house. i had a groupon coupon for $68 to this synthetic oil change, filter and tire rotation. i got screwed there! strickly a bait an switch place! instead of $68 + taxes etc. they charged me $115. almost double. they gave me a free car inspection and they told me that i should get the brakes taken care of immediately. i knew i had a complete brake job done a year and a half ago and i have only driven near 12,000 miles since then. to do this brake job at midas was going to be $1647. i said that i would think about it. today i went to pep boys in north miami and asked for a brake inspection. if it needed a brake job, i would do it at pep boys. the mechanic roberto called me in to the garage and told me that everything is fine. i have brake pads in good condition but there is a little bit of rust on the rotors but the pads are not touching the rust. he suggested that i drive it and do nothing. he said, when the pads wear down and eventually make noise, that is the time to bring it in for new rotors and pads. i only drive 4000 to 6000 miles a year. he said that it should be fine and when i come down next winter to florida, come in and we'll see the condition of the brakes. i dealt with wellington the manager and roberto the mechanic. i highly recommend using pep boys in north miami. they are honest!!! i almost got screwed again by midas again. read more

I took my car in for an alignment. They had me waiting for hours. I went up to check for an estimate of when my car would be ready and they told me "Oh, your car has BEEN ready." meanwhile, no one notified me. So I was just sitting there. Then, as I left the shop I noticed that my steering wheel was still a little to the left. So it looks like they did not even give the car an alignment in the first place.. And there are other reviews I've done to the location in miami lakes. Went to this location in north Miami Beach for an oil change. After my car being there for almost 4 hours they called to tell me that the oil changed could not be done because the people that did the oil change last stripped the drain plug on the oil pan. Thank god she did not pay it and got the leak in her AC fixed down the street (forgot the name of mechanic) for $220! What a bunch of scum bags here. I've been coming to this Pep Boys for about two years and always have had amazing service, as well as amazing customer service. I came in today for an oil change and Hernan even remembered me from a transaction that occurred back in July 2019. I was informed that I needed a new battery and I (begrudgingly) said they can change the battery. Before I paid, I inquired about the warranty, as the old battery was purchased at a different Pep Boys location. When the young man (different person) said it was 30 months, I further asked what my resolve would be if I found my receipt from the old battery and was still in warranty. The young man asked Edwin (whom I'm assuming is a manger) and Edwin stated I would be refunded if I am within the warranty period. After paying, I didn't even leave the parking lot; I looked in my glove compartment and God is! I found the receipt from the old battery and was still within the warranty. I went back inside to show that I was in the warranty to get my refund. Edwin looks at the receipt and says "if you had the receipt, why didn't you say that before?" And THIS is why I will give such a low rating. That comment was unnecessary and uncalled for. Before I walked out I stated to him I may have the receipt and, lucky for me, I found it. I get it: had I remembered the receipt and given it to you before, you wouldn't have to do the extra work of doing the refund. But things happen, and people forget their receipts in the moment. However, that comment was unprofessional and I will be diligent to avoid working with this person if I return to this location. read more

Worst Service I have ever received, KATHERINE O. is a disgrace to the company and has terrible customer service skills. She really needs to be retrained or replaced. I walked in to get 1 tire changed, from the moment I walked to her, she didn't properly address me. Not even a good morning, just what's your tag number, I gave it to her, she said I don't know what to tell you, its not coming up. My question is how can you assume I've been here before for you to be able to find my information in the system. Secondly good morning to you too. Her first question should have been, Have you been here before? Once advised her that the tire that I needed to be replaced was a run flat tired. The manager, Joel yelled unprofessionally from across the counter to advised me that his not going to replace a run flat tire because it will make too much noise in his head and the amount that his charging me to replace my tire he would be losing money. Which was extremely frustrating because I literally just got my car towed to this location and the tow man had already left. I decided to choose this location because I was told by their partner who I purchased the tire from that they are able to change my tire for $24.99 Eventually the manager Joel agreed to changed my tire. I watch Katherine walk over to the service guys to turn in 3 keys one at a time from people that came in after me. She never turned in my key which mean I got skipped 3 times. I waited over 2 hours for 1 tire to be changed. One of the guys that was serving the cars realized I was sitting for so long and he decided to go to the front desk to get my key to change my tire. When he was done, I wanted to tip him but I didn't have cash, he also didn't speak English either. I wanted to Venmo, cashapp or zelle him. Joel said not on my watch. if you don't understand machines, don't go to them. asked to change the thermostat, the manager said that they would change it without any problems. in the end, they offered to repair the system for $ 1600! under the pretext "we are responsible for quality". and refused to change what was needed. After seeing the tire on the floor, the mechanic sent us to the other side for one of the service attendees to issue a ticket. Attendee Hernan comes and asks us to drive the car back and forth, looking for a hole until it popped out of the rim. When it happened, Hernan said we had to drive back to the mechanic or take it across the street. I then called the manager Leila, who was insulting and disrespectful, she turned around and never came back. They made US take the tire out and carry to the mechanic to fix it, give it to us so WE put it back on the car. Their customer service is terrible, from the person at the tire counter to the mechanic installing my tires. I am quiet surprised after reading all the negative comments on Yelp that their management have not taken any steps to make the customers have a better experience. First time their "master tech" wasn't there for an appt I scheduled through their system. Why allow me to make the appt? Second time I make the appt and call ahead to make sure the appt was held and the "'master tech" was there. Worst service ever! Avoid the place! I had A/C blowing hot air and I asked Pep Boys to fix it. They charged me over $ 200 dollars and after less than a month I started to notice the air getting hotter again. Today it is exactly like it was before they "fixed it". I also noticed they said I DECLINED the $ 3.94 EXTENDED LABOR WARRANT, but I never DECLINED IT. It is unbelievable these scammers are still in business! Went in for the millionth time and this place has changed. They take their time in helping you. Some catch an attitude and refuse to price match what's on their website or even to special order tires. One employee flat out refused to help when we asked to have a price match and handed us off to another employee. They take over an hour to just look at the cars and when they do, it feels as if they do not use integrity when giving you a diagnosis. We walked out instead of using their service. I am just going to flat out give up coming to this place, and so will my family for the better. There are better places in Miami that are honest and care for their reputation. I just want to thank the crew at Pep boys!! I went to location store #0173 in Miami Gardens 295 NE 167th St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162. I got 4 brand new tires. They had broken a part trying to get my old tires off and it took a couple of days for the part to come in. I brought it in on a Sunday. The part could not come in till Tuesday. They covered my uber's to get to work Monday, and a rent a car for 3 days so I could get the rental back on time. I was so impressed from Greg, who originally helped me, to the assistant manager at that location Edwin, to Gloria in Customer Service and Kenny Rice in Orlando - Supervisor. They all helped me to get to work and had my back with a car rental. I am super happy with feeling that I am in good hands with Pep Boys all the way around. Thank you everyone! I used to go to the neighborhood Pepboys . Always great customer service, associate Norman was great. Not sure if he still works there or not. I dropped my car off at 9am on a Saturday morning. An early appt for an early day, Busy Saturday. They said 45 mins, 1hr the most .. I expected 1hr and 30 mins. I received a call at 11:23 asking did I know where my rim lock key was located. I admit , I forgot the lock key at home. But what type of customer service skills is that to call 2 hrs and 30 mins after I dropped my car off . The associate replies " ma'am yes we were looking for your lock key for about an HR". In my head thinking so you searched all through my car for hours VS calling me and asking the owner the location. This just wasn't a smart move. Pointless.. I was calling them since 11am to check the status of the car.. they literally had me on hold for 30 mins .. on 2 different lines. I called from another phone. After being frustrated I hung up and then the associate called me with the drama. Unprofessional, new young associates that needs better training. That was a simple situation that could have been resulted better. As a result, this late timing gave a domino effect for all of my Saturday plans. Thanks Pepboys. When I went to ask the service representative about it he said "yeah well I can't help you" and was so rude about it. Such bad customer service!!!
