The absolutely worse. We went to the location off of Memorial: the "manager-Jason" has the worse temper and customer service I ever experienced. We went to this location on Tuesday to have my brakes/rotors, wheel alignment, and AC evaluation done. They did not perform the task we requested, the manger Jason himself told us when it comes to brakes/rotors check they use their own personal phones to test the lifeline of the objects instead of taking them off and doing as they should, they never checked the wheel alignment. When we were told about two studs were broken off our tires & he instantly started yelling at us over the phone & being extremely hateful when we were just trying to get to the bottom of everything. Been trying to contact the higher end, and all locations are refusing to provide that information call. The customer service line gave me the runaround. The experience with them has been the absolutely worst nightmare I have ever encountered. I would not ever recommend Pep Boys they would not perform the measurements to make sure your car is in good hands. They lack professionalism. read more

Billed at $158/hr to replace an oil pan gasket, electric fans coming on even in 37 deg weather, AC compressor making noises and 2nd time looking at my brand new brakes squealing. Only thing fix/diagnosed was my oil pan gasket that was replace at $158/hr. Told my brakes squeal because they just do.. Their resolution to my brakes, to bring it back a 3rd time and have them look at it... What are you going to find this time? Couldn't be repaired, but before he sold me a new tire, he told me to check the dealership and/or Michelin for warranty. Wow, what great service! I had a nail in my tire and called up to this store to see if I could have my car dropped and have the tire patched. The man on the phone "JC" told me I'm good to come and drop off the car. I get to the store and there is an employee asleep on the chairs in the lobby. Im talking to the mechanic and apparently he's the only man authorized to put in work orders and they don't want to wake him up... they said that even if they woke him up he wouldn't be coherent enough to put it into the system. I am done with the Pep Boys located at 2317 W Memorial Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73134! I have no clue how it even stays in business! That has to be to poorest run auto center in the company! I complained once before because I had a 9:00 am appointment to get just an oil change. When I got there the Service Manager at the time said it would be 5:00 pm before they could get to it. For an Oil Change! Last week I called to check on having my radiator checked and possibly replaced, as it has a small leak. The Service manager that took the call said that he would have a service tech in at 8:00 am this morning 1/4/24. So I made the appointment to take it in. I got there at 8:00 am as scheduled, and there was no service manager on duty. only one person that was a service tech. He told me he did not know why I was told there would be a service tech in at 8:00 am as they do not come in until 9:00 am - 9:30 am! But yet, he was a service tech and acted like he didn't want to do anything. Once again, I was given the run around with this location! As a Senior Citizen, with only one car, I need to get my service/maintenance done early, as I need my car available for early afternoons needs. I will never take my car to Pep Boys again! Made an appointment on Saturday for 11am and when I arrived 30 mins early was told it would be a 4 hour wait. I declined because what's the point of making the appointment if they don't keep it. Was told to come back tomorrow and I'd for sure be seen at 1pm. I arrive at 12:30pm and they say 1 hour wait. Fine im not unreasonable and i need it done before a trip. Well here I am at 3:24pm and my cars only now been brought back. Honestly for the prices they charge ($104 for a full synthetic oil change) you'd think they'd be able to keep appointments. Precision tune charges $60-$80 for full synthetic and manage to get you out in a hour or 2 with no appointment. Unfortunately they close on the weekends now. Just incredibly frustrating read more

The manager was on duty and he said he couldn't even do a diagnostic because the machines were locked up. As a manager why don't you have access and why can't you do it??? Unprofessional. Jason is so amazing! We had the tire pressure light come on in my husband's car on a Sunday when most places are closed and it was pouring rain so he did his best to air up the tires but the light was still on. We took it here and Jason checked all the tires and filled two of them up for free in the rain. That shows amazing dedication to serving others. As my dad frequently laments gone are the days of the roadside mechanic. When you are faced with a high cost of going to a dealership, and being sold another car instead of just fixing your perfectly good car, this Pep Boys is the place to go. I've been coming here since we moved back to the city. Everyone here is very professional. We have older model cars, and have needed to come here a few times a year. I believe at the moment between two cars, Pep Boys on West Memorial has fixed a starter, and alternator, a few tires, idler bearing problem, and an evap canister problem. I have found that the service department is always willing to listen to what theories I may have as to what's wrong, as I have just enough knowledge to be a little bit dangerous. They are courteous and prompt to respond to my questions. I feel like my car is in good hands. Now granted with any mechanic shops there are going to be a few Miner issues here and there. But they are always willing to make things right. I leave here with confidence knowing that my car's been taken care of and that I have been treated with respect. read more

The wait ended up being twice as long as originally stated. They charged 15 dollars to install a set of wipers and 15 to install an easy air filter. Something I could have and should have done in 5 minutes. They also said I had a break light out and a blinker, a service I refused and gladly because I checked once I got home and my lights were all in working order. I also heard them tell another lady the same two lights were out in her car. A suspicious coincidence. I would not recommend their service for a quick oil change as it will be anything but quick. And they will try to push you into replacing parts that either don't need done or that you can absolutely do yourself for much MUCH cheaper. read more

I've been shopping at this Pep Boys for years now. I mainly go in for my bi-monthly oil and oil filters but I've also shopped for a number of other auto parts and supplies over the years. They have a large selection and 99% of the time have what I need for a reasonable price. The store itself is organized and clean, except for the bathrooms which need some help. My only issues are that the employees are really hit-or-miss. Sometimes you get people that are professional and helpful. Other times, they are way out in left field. I've also had some repairs done in the maintenance shop. Some of the guys are ok, but others I really don't feel very comfortable with working on my car. When I just need to go in, find a product and get out, I don't have any issues at all. I mainly keep coming here because of their rewards program and the store points that I receive every so often. read more

Went to pep boys to get an oil change and have my tires checked and they told me I had two tires with nails in the edge of the tread on the sidewall that would have to be replaced. I did not have the money at the time so I waited. In the meantime I looked for the nails and could not find them. So I went to discount tire and they showed me where the nails were and they were no where near the sidewall and they fixed them for free. Pep boys lied to me and tried to rip me off. Utterly abysmal customer service. Brought in my VW GTI for a scheduled 8 AM appointment for brake pad change right after they opened. They said that they would call when they started working on it to provide an assessment of the rotor condition. I called a couple of hours later, at 10 AM, because I hadn't heard anything, and they said that the technician that my vehicle had been assigned to hadn't shown up to work, but they'd get to it when possible. At noon, I finally got a call from the service center, stating that their mechanic didn't know what kind of wrench would fit the caliper frame bolts (a 14mm triple-square), and that they had already contacted O'Reilly Auto Parts and they didn't know either. I told them that I'd track down the part and called O'Reilly and a few other places. At 1 PM, I dropped off the M14 triple-square socket that I had just picked up from O'Reilly Auto Parts. The guy at the front desk said he was shocked that I found one. Finally, at 6 PM, I received an automated phone call stating that my vehicle was ready for pickup. They never contacted me with an assessment of the rotors, but simply replaced them and charged me. When I paid for the service, no discount was offered despite the fact that I had been waiting on my vehicle the entire day. The complimentary multi-point vehicle inspection with the invoice wasn't even filled out. I've never been treated this poorly or had a worse experience with an automotive service center, and I absolutely will never return to this place. Like another reviewer said, I urge everyone to stay away from this Pep Boys. I regrettably didn't have access to my tools, or I would have performed this simple service myself and saved an obscene amount of cash and rude treatment. read more

I called Pepboys for a quote on 4 new tires for my car. I spoke with Sam and he was friendly and informative and he made an appointment for me the same day. He called me well before my scheduled appointment and asked if I would like to come in earlier, as they had a cancellation. Excellent communication. When I brought in my car everyone was very polite and professional. I asked them if they would add on an oil change and they happily obliged. My car was done faster than expected and I also qualified for a discount. The team is always willing to patiently answer any questions we have and find was to complete the work our cars need within our budget and in a timely manor. Last Visit: The team at this Pep Boys has always been great but on our last visit they went above and beyond. My car had the fuel pump and the computer module that controls it go out. To make the story as short a possible the team at this location quickly repaired the problem and dealt with my extended warranty company to get the work paid for. read more

I was not able emotionally to pursue this, I did meet with manager who treated me like dirt, and the service writer was fast to tell me of all his years in law enforcement, and he used intimidation tactics on me when I showed him the battery that was in my car.(I did get a refund on the battery theft) I was diagnosed with Asperger's/Autism last year, 2 years after this happened. I got this in my Facebook memories this morning. This is the update of what happened back then. Wow 3 years and the car is still going strong. Turned out they never unhooked the battery and shorted out the computer messing up the AC (still not working) and the transmission. First it had no low gear so I took it to the Ford dealer and they got it going but then it had no overdrive (at this point I had paid total over $2,000 on a $2700 car) AAMCO transmissions wanted $1800 just to diagnose the problems shown on their diagnostic computer. So I took it home and kept driving like it was. After a few months the trans started shifting and I just checked and I am getting 20-MPG, I just replaced the "bad battery" late last year after the car sat for 6+ months after my truck wreck. read more

I have been to this location twice and had great experiences. Both times they got the job done in the time they told me and they were friendly. I gave them four stars because I had an appointment and a coupon that expired today to get an alignment but they did not have anyone there due to the weather. I needed to have a hitch put on my suv. Uhaul was really expensive, so I called pepboys, They were able to order my part. I had an appointment for Thursday. Honestly, this was one of the best pep boys experiences. The only bad thing, the bathrooms were so gross. I had to use them twice and I almost wanted to ask them for the cleaner to clean them. Other than that it went great. I went in with my patient hat on since I had a humogous wait on nw exp pep boys. Joe was very accomadating, since I asked him to look at a few other things while they had my car. The regional manager was there and asked if we wanted a soda. It was a long wait but again I knew it might be. They had problems with the hitch and I did have to remind them to do the other things. But that wasn't on my appointment so it wasn't a big deal. Also, Joe said he didn't have the lighing thing I needed. He told me he would show me where to click it into the hitch, when I bought one. Then I didn't need another install.
