I went in to get my break lights replaced and they were very helpful. The total service cost $33 to replace the bulb that needed replacing - this includes the bulb and service. I went in early in the morning and they were able to take care of me without an appointment. It only took about 45mins wait-time which is very reasonable considering I was a walk-in. Probably the most notable moment was an interaction I overheard where another customer was considering selling his car because of an issue, but Pep Boys were able to find the problem other mechanics weren't able to find. **There was a mixup with the payment and I was overcharged so make sure you look at the bill. But when I talked and showed it to the people at the desk, they were incredibly nice and professional and corrected the issue. They even gave me a spare set of break lights on the house. read more

I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about going to this particular Pep Boys after reading all the negative reviews. However, it was on a Sunday and I needed something done with my car. So, this was one of the few car repair businesses in town that was open. Adam was pleasant enough not only with myself, but with the customer ahead of me. This location is a little step up from the pep boys on E. Colonial Drive by Dunkin' Donuts: there wasn't a FULL waiting room of people, an annoying lady singing and playing guitar or customer complaining BUT the wait time is still the same! I again used car advise to book my appointment because I do instacart and wanted my discount. My appointment was at 9am and I arrived at 8:55am.....my car didn't get pulled into the garage until 11:20am! What's the point of scheduling an appointment, I didn't leave until 11:55am! I witnessed a five different customers get their car done before me and I was there before all of them. The only thing I can say is the staff is very nice and I kinda eavesdrop on the conversation they had with customers in person and on the phone, they explained things in very clear details about what's happening with their car. read more

After visiting another PepBoys (the third) they attempted to balance my tires, but were not able to check the alignment done at this store. Just like the previous 2 times the tires were not balanced and my truck was almost undrivable. At this point I needed to salvage my investment so I wen to a real tire shop. They said the alignment was so bad, it wasn't even safe to drive and the tires were already showing irregular wear. They corrected everything and it cost me an additional $189.00. I posted the picture I received of my alignment as it was after this location said they had completed. I ask wow really I'll give you 5 stars! When on my merry way! Tuesday 5/5/2022, Update on the great service! Don't go to pep boys. They don't know what the heck they are doing! What should have been a simple patch, turned out to be a nightmare!! woke up this morning with a completely flat tire! Called Geico to use my roadside assistance to get air on my tire. When back to Pep Boys and explain to the manager what happens to me. He said you can leave here because we are full at the moment. I said what!! He said I can call you a Lyft. I said fine I guess I don't have any other choice. As I am waiting for the Lyft 48 minutes later. I see the technician getting my car. Did I say you going to repair my tire? He said yes, I said I want a plug, not a patch. He said I'll plug it for you. I go back inside and said to Adam cancel the Lyft as the technician is taking my car now. He is going to plug the tire. He said we don't plug tires we just patch them. Then you start explaining why I need 4 new tires because my 2019 Legacy Subaru requires me to get 4 new tires if not my transmission will eventually fail. I said what the heck are you saying. Why do I need 4 new tires when came in for a nail repair? He goes on to say I'm sorry but that is what we can do. I said give me my car. Started to cry and walked out. When to Goodyear and the Gentlemen told me that none of the big-name brand companies plug tires. Only the hole in the wall/pop and mom companies would plug my tire. So I when to JV General Mechanic on East Colonial. 9903 East Colonial Drive Orlando, FL 407- 207-6967 You would not believe what they found. Well, pictures speak for themselves!!! Their Irresponsible way of doing business cost me four hours of work $250.00, in addition to, a claim to Geico for using my roadside service having to wait an hour to get my flat tire replaced with the spare so I can drive back to Pep Boys! This simple fix cost me some Serious aggravation, a waste of time and money. Please don't go to Pep Boys, now I realize why that place is always empty and we're asking me to scan and give them a five-star rating because their service and workmanship are horrible and not worth our money! I took a fleet vehicle here in June of '23 for brakes and shocks. May of '24, I had an ABS light come on and took it to another vendor. The ABS sensor wire had been left dangling by Pep Boys and the tire had nearly rubbed it through. Considering how poorly that work was done, it makes me wonder what else was done poorly. Man, this place had a rough couple of years. The reviews certainly discourage you from coming in. In my case, I had no option. Another Pep Boys location gave me substandard service, so I had to come here because my car was leaking oil. But the person who helped me said, "Don't worry about it, we'll fix it!". Yes, that's what I like to hear. After about an hour, he called me up and informed me the oil filter was faulty, and that he replaced it with a new one. That was a relief. This is the best place to go for any car issues or needs! They are soo reliable, friendly and go above and beyond! I have been to them maybe 5 times or even more and each time they are always so helpful and honest which is rare to find! They don't take advantage! I worked with Clayton today and have worked with Bob in the past and they are both super helpful! The entire team while I don't always interact with them must be just as amazing as those two! I tell everyone I know personally to go to them and I will tell you as well! If you want a place that will care and not try to rob you, this is it! I promise you!! I drove cross country and my check gage/service engine light came on. I had my vehicle checked out before I left and everything was fine. I called my shop back home and they told me everything was fine. I got an OBD error code though that something was wrong. I came to Pep Boys to get a second opinion. Bob helped me out and told me everything was ok and did not charge me anything. He was super friendly and helpful. It was reassuring to get a second opinion that backed up the first and for free. I happy that Bob was honest and did not try to sell me service that I didn't need so he could make a quick buck. Bottom line is that they were friendly, helpful and HONEST. read more

Went here to get some things checked out on the car. Was given a list that was a page long and estimates at over $2000. Took the car to a local mechanic and he laughed and shook his head after seeing the list. He looked everything over and found only one issue with the car. Phenomenal service!!! I took my car in because I was concerned about some grinding that I heard on my brakes after just having them replaced. Pep boys does free brake inspections so I decided to take it in. I had an appointment time of 11 and was seen with a representative almost immediately! I explained to Matt that I just had my brakes replaced but I heard a grinding sound and he said it would be no problem to take a look at check it out for me. He also squeezed my work in so I didn't have to wait super long or come back in the afternoon as they were super busy! Matt informed me that there was nothing wrong and thoroughly explained what the sound was. Not only did I receive super fast service but these guys were really nice and genuine and it makes going to a mechanic that much better knowing that are people that won't work you over! Dropped off a car for an oil change. Given 2 hour window for pick up. Left and came back 3 hours later and car still hadn't been worked on. Had to wait another 90 minutes to get car and paperwork. Almost 5 hours to get an oil change and out the door. Manager apologized for long wait. For my inconvenience they didnt charge me the $7.00 for brake bulbs that needed replacement. read more

Came in for an appointment that I booked online. The guy at the desk said I didn't have an appointment and the place was packed, so without the appointment it would take several hours. I showed him my confirmation and he basically said too bad and there's nothing he can do, because it didn't show up on his computer. The last Pep Boys I went to broke my air intake resonator and hid it from me. This was the last straw. They've lost my business. Next door is discount tire. I came in two days ago to have my car checked out before I take it on a very long drive to make sure my car was definitely road ready. I've been coming here for all my service needs since I moved to Orlando and never had an issues but I was just so shocked with how badly my experience went. After checking my car, they decided that I need new coolant and my valve cover gasket was leaking. I was quoted that for all the work I would be spending $240 which sounded reasonable to me. The work was suppose to take a couple hours and I could pick it up in the early afternoon. When I showed up to pick up my car, they had not ordered the parts needed yet but I was told that it would take about 10 mins once the piece came in. This startled me a little since I was told the labor that I was paying for was 1.5 hours... When I come back at closing time, my car still hadn't been started but I went ahead to pay while they spent that 10 mins on my car. I got charged $340 which is much more than I was quoted and when I asked how the labor was only 10 mins, I was condescendingly told that "It's because the mechanics are just that good". I have felt very taken advantage of since then and this has left a very bad taste in my mouth about this location. I highly suggest avoiding this place. read more

I've had less than stellar experience with Pep Boys when I lived in Maryland, and I don't know why I was expecting this visit to be any different. I came here because it was the closet place I could get an oil change, albeit 15 minutes before closing. I was downright turned away because they "had too much work". Management at a service-oriented business needs to understand that staff isn't expected to close up shop at X hour and just leave. If a bank branch closes its doors, staff needs to attend to everyone inside before they clock out. I'm off to Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Pro: they do great work. I've been coming here for years and my car is often fixed without issues for a long time. Cons: Oil changes can take over an hour, even with an online appointment. The facility is very dated and run down. The women's bathroom is appalling. It's not the kind of place you want to wait at while your car is being serviced. I wouldn't mind paying a little more to have nice bathrooms and some wifi. read more

I am so unhappy with their dishonesty. I came with a nail in my tire, but they claimed that it is unfixable and that ALL my tires need replacement and alignment. I know that it was all a lie because the tires were fairly new, and the nail was very small in a totally fixable area. They wanted to charge me $900 for all the BS they came up with. I drove then to another tires shop (I do not want to say it's name so that people do not think I am counter-advertising), they told me that my tires are good, and they still have good life on them, and fixed the nail FOR FREE!!! Because of this location I will NEVER go to another PepBoys EVER AGAIN! I've been a customer with PepBoys at the Pensacola location for years, and after relocating and going this location I just won't ever put my trust in them. I should have known after a visit in May, the representative tried to charge me for pre labor and a part that had to be ordered... He told me it was 300 dollars.. Then when my father showed up it went down to 90 dollars! How? Still not sure! I went today to get my brake pads checked... The representative tried to charge me 400 dollars and gave me a list of other problems. When I told him I was only concerned with the brake pads, he became EXTREMELY rude to the point I demanded that he just give me car and I would go elsewhere. On top of that...for an inspection I was charged 25 dollars!! JUST TO LOOK AT MY CAR!!!!! I'm so displeased with this company, I will NEVER go back and I have made sure to inform others about them.. I've been a customer of this Pep Boys location for a few years. Not only myself, but my husband, daughter and son-in-law are also loyal customers. Why are we loyal? Because Arty knows how to take care of his customers and is an expert when it comes to Customer Service. Ron, our mechanic has taught me more about cars than I ever thought I'd know. He explains the problems and I have never had an issue with a repair I had done there. I have had many issues with other places over the years...I have learned a lesson each time. Scheduled an oil change and although we waited and were there a little longer than expected I left satisfied with the service they provided. They gave us a few suggestions on work that needed to be done soon (which we knew about). They have a Keurig with coffee/tea and a TV to entertain you while you wait. Both gentleman helping us that day were helpful, communicative and Kevin was great a few days prior when he took a look at a tire we have with an issue with the rim that causes it to leak and provided a solution to our problem. We scheduled it as early as possible because I know these places are like going to a doctors office, you have to sit and wait (Patience is key). Associate was very rude on the phone. Tried to rip me off. Was quoted for $160 for a brake fluid change. Associate claimed that I had a speciality car. Which is a bmw. So, I called another pep boys that was 3 miles away. I went to the pep boys at 351 S Avalon Park Blvd, Orlando. Which was actually closer to me. And I was quoted for $69.99 for the same exact brake fluid change. In and out in an hour. Service was done. It just shows you. You can't trust this particular pep boys. In past I've taken my vehicle to get the air refilled at Pep Boys in Waterford when my tire pressure light comes on. A few months ago I was told I had a nail in the tire and they could fix it if I could wait 45 minutes. After the repair I went to the cashier area and was told there was no charge! Last week I repeated same scenario except the nail was on the wall of the tire. That is not repairable. I drive an AWD vehicle so replacing less than 4 tires is impossible. Jeff Flake, GM, assured me he could put Cooper tires on the following day. Long story short...I drove out with top of the line tires, buy 3 get 1 free at a ridiculously low price (a steal really). He recommended an alignment with new tires...no charge! I did purchase the tire warranty to protect these new beauties. Jeff Flake's generosity and customer service are impeccable! I would rate this Pep Boys location higher than 5 but 5 was the highest option. Jeff gained a full time customer due to his efforts. I have left my previous car maintenance business permanently! Iv heard of automotive shops taking advantage of customers but I have never experienced it first hand. Thank god I have experience in the field for the manager Richard was really trying to take advantage of my friend. If you have any repairs done, double check the labor time he is quitting you on because Richard likes to charge extra on labor. Richard was trying to charge my friend an extra half hour of labor, roughly an extra $80 in labor for no reason. The funny thing is, when I showed him he was charging us extra labor, his response was "okay. This is what we charge". That's not how the automotive industry works! Everything is quoted through a labor guide. Not to mention he did work on my friends vehicle without any kind of authorization and then tried to make us pay for it when We went to pick up the vehicle. Know your rights people, without authorization these people can not force you to pay for anything. If you do go into the PepBoys on alafaya close to Waterford lakes, I'd suggest you take it just for a $20 oil change and tire rotation and NOTHING else. read more

They really shouldn't get three stars but they replaced a tire for me rather quickly and Ryan (manager on duty) was very friendly and helpful. They told me they couldn't patch one of my tires because the puncture was too close to the wall (which it was not) and tried to sell me another tire and services that were unnecessary. I can confirm because I took my vehicle into a family mechanic and everything checked out alright. If you're going to go to Pep Boys, only get what you need. I do not recommend giving in to their "suggestions", they are commission based and will target you to make extra. Dishonesty for me is a no go and is the reason I will not be returning to this location. read more

Loyal customer for several years, until I realized I had been lied to more than once. They "fixed" my air a total of three times..it is still not right. The final straw was when I went in with issues with my headlights getting dimmer on and off..I was told point blank that I needed a new alternator. They hadn't done a full diagnostic....just the handheld like you can get at any parts store. So, I had the good sense to get a second opinion. All I needed was a battery. EVERY TIME I went in for any maintenance they always found some other "issue" to fix. I assumed they were just thorough....now, I think I was being gypped. Also, if the sales manager, Sandy, called me "sweetheart" one more time, I think I would puke!!!!! Some folks may find that cute, I think it's creepy. read more
