This shop just literally saved my life! I came in because of a horrible noise in my front wheel. They found a little pebble and removed it...the bigger problem was the shaky wheel in back. They had a look...and showed me that the dealer did not put a screw in properly, thus the lug nuts weren't secured correctly...and they confirmed that if I hadn't brought it in, the wheel was going to come off!!! This shop was professional, quick to handle the issues and above all, honest and competent! Any other problems...I'll definitely be going here first! read more

Made an appointment online for a brake job. Bob the manager wrote the service order and mike the mechanic did the brake inspection and the front brake job. They didnt try to oversell and replaced what needed to be done at a great price and in outstanding time. I am very happy with their service and even found a coupon online to use. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE So sorry I went to this place, out of many I chose them because of location. 2 simple jobs: Balance new tires & putting on a new serpentine belt.1st, the tires were not balanced properly ( broken machine), I had to get them rebalanced at Firestone-weights were off by a lot. Brought receipt to Manager for refund and he did, all 4 tires $60.00 refunded. As for the belt-the mechanic put it on wrong after working on it for over 1-1/2 hours, cussing, walked away from car, he was frustrated. This is maybe 1/2 hour to put this on As I drove away within 5 feet my car died, told manager who proceeded to put it back on and showed my my belt tensioner had 3 burned off ribs 6 total. This car was in pristine condition 47,000 miles as new. Thoroughly checked the car before I bought it. The manager claimed the teeth were burned off before I brought it in..ridiculous. In this condition, the belt could have came off when driving causing a catastrophic event. If they could not fufill these 2 simple tasks, I would not trust them for any job & neither should you. read more

I used to be a regular customer but the past three times I made an appointment for an oil change they told me they were too busy and wanted to make another appointment or told me they were "slammed" and it's going to take a long time. Key word is AN APPOINTMENT. My definition of an appointment is that you should be attended to within a reasonable length of time, not to be asked to wait a long time or be re-scheduled. I'm a regular customer for many years at this particular pep boys. I made an appointment today for my breaks and a/c they were trying to charge me double the price on my front breaks service when couple months ago they did the rear breaks. The a/c repair estimate they gave me were way too high and I decide to call the dealership for an estimate and compare prices. Surprisingly the dealership were half price of pep boys. I'm very upset with that. I definitely will never go back to pep boys and if you are considering them to work in your car you better get a second opinion somewhere else. Brought my highlander in for oil change. Bob the service mgr called me to say they changed the oil but couldn't rotate tires. He said the tires were bad, "one of them was down to the steel belts" and that he couldn't rotate the tires. Old fashioned Scam ! When i came to pick up the car he wanted to sell me tires " buy 3 get one free. There was nothing wrong with the tires. I went to my regular tire store ( family owned in Oldsmar) and he sent me on my way. My current tires were fine and wearing evenly. Come back next year he said. Had two cars that needed their 50k-60k service to maintain warranty coverage. Caught a Groupon with a great buy for basic service and inspection so bought two deals. The manager gave me a complete estimate of all service procedures, letting me double check the required items and compare prices at the original dealers where purchased and serviced since then. Just Brakes price was $300 less on one, and $250 less on the other than the original dealer. The savings made one car's service essentially free. Cars have been running great since then. I've had great experience with both excellent dealers, but have grown disappointed with their high service charges. I'm extremely satisfied with the service from Just Brakes location, and I'll definitely be going back. read more

Way overpriced. You are essentially paying the salaries of the execs who would not know a car from a train. Better to try your local Mom and Pop Shop. I was quoted $350 and left paying $850. My next-door neighbor was quoted $100 and left paying $300 (see Bruce R.'s review by way of further corroboration). Yes, these things happen. But with too much regularity, I suspect, at this firm. This is NOT an indictment of the mechanics, who did a good job, but of the pricing scale, which they do not set. read more

After being charged $464.28 to change back brake pads, a rotor and a caliper the manager wanted to charge me another $79 that was not originally quoted. He said he mis-charged me for my service. I did not pay the extra amount which he said he would have to pay out of his pocket as the whole thing sounded very fishy. I had to come back to have my tires rotated as your ad says I get with my service because of the length of time it took to handle my vehicle. At this time the manager told me he had been fired due to his mistake, even though he was still working. He also informed me I would not have the lifetime guarantee because I didn't pay his extra $79. I'm pretty sure I'm OK with the no guarantee as I am pretty sure I won't be back but the whole "I'm out of the game, I got fired" was extremely uncomfortable. I have a hard time believing your company does business like this but this store does! They then stripped a stud on a wheel, understandable, but they sent ME to the auto parts store for the part. The auto part store was out. Their area manager who started dealing with me by not wanting to hear what went wrong sent me to a repair shop of my choosing where I had to have $280 worth of work done to repair the job they did to my car. I speaks volumes that they wanted me to go elsewhere and let them pay for it than to bring it back to one of their own shops. They don't have confidence in their people and neither should you. read more

I had a power steering leak. Giovani said power steering pump was bad in my 2003 Lincoln Aviator. Took them from 11 am until 7 that night to replace the pump. They then drove the car to the front of the store for me and as I watched power steering fluid was puddling around my feet. Somewhat comical. I gave them a second chance to correct the problem. Picked up the car the next day and started to hear that humming noise again. The next morning I had another puddle of power steering fluid in my driveway. I was forced to use another service. They found the replaced pump was defective. After replacing with a good unit the original problem arose. Bad high pressure hose!!!! The service manager ,Dennis, is not to be trusted as he assumed no responsibility for the misdiagnosis of my vehicle. I am out over $500 to just brakes for a bad pump that was not needed. Took my 06 Pont G6 in to get the breaks repaired, figured it would be expensive due to the fact they were beginning to grind, was shocked when they came back with a nearly $800 bill, immediately told them that was to much and after non-stop back and forth talking managed to get it down to $477. Well after a cpl hours we returned to get our car and left only to find out that the breaks had absolutely NO pressure in them, I called the location back and they told me to bring it back and they'd look at it, well while driving on U.S.19 I had to stop at the light at Nebraska ave, well I was amazed to find that when i applied my breaks they went all the way to the floor and the car wasn't stopping so I had to apply my emergency break to stop. Well when i did get it back there they looked at it and apparently while repairing my breaks they had somehow managed to put a hole in the break line..seriously! There is NO excuse for your car to leave the break repair shop in such a hazardeous and unsafe condition, god forbid there had been someone in front of me on 19 at Nebraska or I had been t-boned by another veh. I will be contacting their corporate office immediately and demanding a full refund for not only shabby work..but a complete lack of attention to detail by the service tech. I took my 2012 jeep patriot into Just Brakes in Palm Harbor Florida because there was some squealing when braking. The Jeep had only 21,000 miles. I figured it would be something minor. They ended up telling me me the Jeep needed rotors, pads, and drums on all 4 wheels at a cost of most 600. I was shocked and asked how could that be on a vehicle only 1 year old and with 21,000 miles. They had no good explanation and just said it needed done. Since my daughter mainly drives the Jeep, I told them to do the work. 2 months and 2500 miles later the front end started shaking when braking so I had the Jeep dealership look at it. They showed me the warped rotors and ceramic pads they said were aftermarket pads and should never have been put on this Jeep. The pads were way too hard and ate into the rotors. They told me Just brakes is notorious for doing this. When I went back to Just Brakes they denied everything and the said the Jeep needed calipers. They are the biggest ripoff I have ever dealt with. Now I have to sue them in small claims court to get my money back. STAY AWAY from these people. They are total hacks. read more
