I have relied on Mavis for repairs at other locations over the years, and found this location to be among their best locations. I've had routine service and tires, but most recently a new AC compressor and brakes. The service staff is great and I highly recommend them. 1 star is too much! I suggest, Go elsewhere, life is too short for bad auto service and disrespectful auto desk managers. I just got home from a very long day waiting for my vehicle, a 1998 GMC 1500 Pickup truck, the front shocks were replaced today and it was supposed to be a 1.0 hour labor charge, I was quoted a price of about $176. after the 10% Veteran's discount. I did have the job priced by Pep Boys and they said 0.8 hours, Firestone Complete Car Care also said 0.8 hours to complete the front shock absorber replacement. Now the job took much longer than that and I was there at 8:45 A.M. today, 9/8/2025 left briefly and returned there at about 1:00 P.M. The technician only worked on it for 15 minutes this morning and then finally resumed on it about 1:30 P.M. after I expressed my agitation for the vehicle not being ready when I returned. When I was there this morning I observed the technician working on at least one other vehicle besides my truck and he quickly grinded off the lower hardware, the threads of which visually were not rusted at all. One magically came out with no grinding needed while 3 were just grinded off and then drilled out. I am not sure why this was done, but they claimed the hardware was seized, I have no way of knowing for certain, but I am not convinced that 3 of 4 lower hardware were seized while one came out no problem. The job was completed at 3:30 P.M. My 'ABS BRAKE' warning LIGHT' is now on in my vehicle dash cluster. I notified the manager and he denied any cause on MAVIS' part despite knowing nothing about what the technician did to cause this new problem. I am a US Marine Corps Veteran, and a senior citizen, and I am flabbergasted and disheartened by the disrespect shown to me today, and I find it unacceptable my bill today for this is $356.10 and I am now left with a vehicle that has been damaged in new ways, leaving me to find a new service place to troubleshoot, analyze and correct this new ABS BRAKE issue. The manager said that I would have to leave the truck, I declined after spending the best part of 7 hours today for a 1 hour appointment. I look forward to hearing back from The Mavis Customer Satisfaction team as soon as possible. I provided brand new Bilstein shocks, so this charge was all labor. The senior manager on the desk stated that he was not happy with customers bringing in their own parts and that he aims to put a stop to this. I suggested that they should charge what they quote and today he gave me no 10% discount for being a veteran. The initial quote for this job was from one of the assistant managers named Mike on Thursday 09/04/2025. Mike was there today and I believe the senior manager's name is David, an elderly man who said he had over 40 years experience in the automotive industry. I will be having my brakes inspected as soon as I can make an appointment tomorrow, but I will not bring my truck back to the Mavis that I went to today under any circumstances, nor will I ever go to another Mavis, as a matter of fact I will let all of my friends know what happened as well as the VFW and American Legion Post and the Elks posts that I belong to. On top of that I will dispute the charge on my credit card, I am also considering calling the BBB as well. I stressed safety today and obviously this fell on deaf ears. The senior manager basically walked away from the ABS BRAKE problem created there today by the service technician, another customer was witness to this discussion. I cannot in good faith refer anyone to go this Mavis Tires and Brakes business after what happened to me there today. read more

Went to the Mavis Tire Store in Largo to get an alignment for my van. Was told to come back tomorrow at 2:30-3:00 and they would have it done. Went back the following day and no one there knew who i was nor did they have any info on my name or vehicle. I spent my time and gas to get a service done. No one knew or had any information. I have seen some piss poor service in my 70 years but nothing like this. Cussing and yelling are not the kind of employees any store should hire! I would not believe anything that this store has to say nor would i have any service done there even if it was Free! They should Close this Store Down! read more

Got all new tires. They refused to put the spare in the rear of our suv and then when they finally agreed to put it back, they couldn't figure out how. We had to google how to do it and got it done without their help. They also didn't hook up the tire sensors with the new tires. Think twice before going here! read more

Excellent service! Showed up on Sunday 3/30 to schedule an appointment for brakes and tire service and they took me same day. I understand that can't happen all the time but I certainly appreciated them getting me in. Staff is awesome! The workers in the shop deserve praise. The cost was definitely competitive with other companies in the area. This location is definitely convenient and will return for future work. I read the few negative comments left and they just seem to entitled people. I always understand that sometimes things don't go the way we want which was why I did not pressure the staff on a time frame. They definitely delivered service to me and kept me informed throughout the day and I was thankful. Great job to the entire Mavis staff. read more

Waste of time at the new Mavis Discount Tire location on Walsingham Rd in Largo, 33774! This was my first visit to this location, and it will likely be my last. (For context, I was a loyal Goodyear customer for over 20 years, but their service has changed drastically in recent years.) Here's what happened today: I dropped off my car at 11:10 a.m. for a simple tire patch. Price was reasonable, $29.99. David clearly stated they were backed up, but the car would be in the bay by 1 p.m. I understood and assumed that a completion time of 2:00-2:30 p.m. was reasonable based on what David said. At 2:20 p.m., I called to check the status and was told the car was still not in the bay, but they would call me when it was ready. I showed up at 3:15 p.m., only to find my car still sitting in the parking lot, fixed. And I received no call to advise me of the completion. When I went inside, Don acted as if everything was normal. He claimed he had just received the ticket and started creating the bill. I told him this was the worst experience I've ever had for a simple tire patch. Instead of addressing the issue or apologizing, he handed me my keys and said it was free--completely missing the point. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and I won't be returning. read more

Place is a joke. Made an appointment for an alignment, informed the gentleman it was technically aftermarket parts but they utilized the factory alignment bolts so it should be quick and easy. Get there today, the guy behind the counter says I don't have an appointment for an alignment because they don't make appointments that late (you know, the day after I made the appointment where that time was confirmed). Then he tries to scare me off with the price, I said I don't care I need it done. He says it's not happening today (I was an hour early for my appointment trying to be considerate and give them even extra time over what they might need.) Before finding my alignment appointment after all, and saying it's "all wrong, not doable" He told me it was going to take AT LEAST 2-3 hours to turn 4 alignment bolts on an upper control arm and adjust 2 tie rods. I put these arms on myself and eyeball aligned it in my driveway in 15 minutes. I've had cars modified with every aftermarket arm available that were aligned in an hour or 2 at most, this is 1 aftermarket arm he needs 3 hours to do. If I had a rack I could have done the alignment myself faster than our conversation was. Then he tells me the soonest I can get an alignment is the next day, no problem I took it cause I needed it. Well, I called Tire Kingdom down the street upon leaving and told them I needed an alignment, they were aftermarket parts but factory alignment parts. He said no problem bring it on down right now, I dropped it off and it took 30-45 minutes at most. Worth the extra 5 minutes to not go here. Also, a young woman in front of me needed a flat repair. He gave her a price somewhere around $50, she said I'm sorry I don't have a job right now because of the storm so I need to go elsewhere, I found another place that would do it for $20 so I'd like my keys back. I started losing air in my tire just down the street. I went in and asked for them to check the tire pressure and they said I would have to wait an hour or I could stand out in the sun and use the tire pressure gauge that they had. I said no thank you and went across the street to Jiffy Lube. They were very helpful in getting me back on the road. read more
