Extremely disappointed with Tire Kingdom/Mavis in Palm Harbor. After being a loyal customer since the late 1970s, I am officially never returning. Six months ago, I paid over $1,100 for a complete brake job here. Recently, a loud noise developed that turned out to be a defective part from that repair. While they agreed to cover the part under warranty, they refused to waive nearly $400 in labor charges for an error caused by their own defective inventory. In an effort to find a win-win, I offered to buy a brand-new set of truck tires today if they would fully cover the warranty labor. They called back 45 minutes later and rejected the deal.It is shocking that this location would rather lose a 45-year customer and an immediate 4-tire sale than stand behind their own work. They do not fully back the parts they install. read more

They do not know what an appointment means. I had a 200 pm appointment and waited 1 hr and 30 minutes in their lobby. They had not even brought the car into the shop. They made no apologies and no explanation. They did not even have the courtesy to let me know what was happening. Will never go back again. read more

So it's been about 1 1/2 weeks since I had my tire patched here. I've driven no more than 20 miles and the tire with the patch is showing low pressure again. I took it in. They explained there is another nail , this one is close to the sidewall. So patching is not an option. So we discuss getting a new tire $150-$200. I ask about getting a refund on the patch as they clearly missed the 2nd nail. Had I know obviously I would not have patched and just gotten a new tire. They said "No" because there is no way to PROVE that it was missed, and I didn't drive over another nail. I said you can check the Odometer reading from my last visit - I don't have 20 miles on it. While I can't be 100% sure I didn't drive over another nail in exact same tire in that 20 miles I drove in 10-12 days it seems the more likely they found the one nail *patched* and never did a 2nd pressurized test to find the other one I cannot PROVE they didn't know about the 2nd nail - patched it and then waited for me to come back and sell me a tire on top of the patch. I mean, if I am not 100% sure, then I guess I'll use their logic. I am now having my tires serviced by another company. So then I started checking out their positive reviews. I appreciate how quickly they changed my tire. However I got a quote before I came in and verified the amount before having the work done (4 new tires and balance). When I picked up my car they increased the amount. I tired to explain to the sales manager but he insisted it was correct and that I had to pay more. When I left I called customer service and they went over the invoice with me and discovered I was being overcharged. They called the store and requested a refund. Glad I eventually got the refund but it still seemed I was intentionally being overcharged and that the sales manager would not correct it when given an opportunity. This is the only reason for three stars. read more

While still giving a high star, I left pissed. As all shops, to stay in business, you have to up sell, I get that. The sales people are trained to do that, with a step by step pitch, the one they use is standard across the boards, but it's not real data but created to seem real. Like if your tire is over 5 years old they can't fix it and you have to replace it or a gage they use to show you how much tread you have left. Then act like it's against the law for them to fix it, they don't say that but imply it, when questioned on it the reply was "we're a corporation", not sure who came up with that one, but made me laugh. In reality when you buy a tire, it has a lifespan to it, and it becomes an investment, the longer you can use it the better the return on that investment. What they are doing is trying to have you reinvest before you get the full value out of what you paid for. I don't blame the salesman for doing his job, I just don't like the pitch they use trying to "create" a sense of urgency, that in my case didn't exist and the salesman trapped himself making it impossible for him to fix my car. I knew what I wanted and he didn't deliver so now I have to spend more time finding someone that will. This is how it went: I had a nail in a tire, I wanted it pulled and plugged, that's all I wanted. He came out with the standard line, "here's what we found". Adding his whole sales pitch after that. All I wanted was, did you find the nail?did you plug it? lol. Sadly, how many people fall for that and believe the pitch then spending money, in a lot of cases, they don't have and put it on a card they then pay 20% interest on. So to summarize, if you need tires, this is the place to go. Anything else probably not. By the way, I have to say I'm sorry for being a jerk about it, but I'm a busy guy and wasting time that I don't have hit me wrong and I expressed it loudly, that's still no excuse for being a jerk, sorry about that. read more

This is my first experience at any Mavis location, as I moved here last year. I'm going to give a detailed and blunt response to what I experienced. I will start by saying I do have years of experience in Automotive Technology as a Technician in the dealership level and in service writing. I did initially have an appt for earlier in the week, but rescheduled due to illness. I made the appt for Friday, March 7, for 4 new tires and alignment if needed. I came in at the 10:00am time spot and checked in/ gave my keys. I was there for about 30 mins or so, when I was told my tires hadn't been delivered yet. I'm confused by this, because they confirmed my appt. I assumed that would've been checked prior to confirming. Apparently not the case, all good, it happens when you get busy. I tell them I'll just come back Saturday morning so it didn't ruin my whole day today. I get a call around 2:30pm later in the day, tires are ready and they have time to do the work. Cool, let's knock it out and I'll have my Saturday free. I bring my car back, second time, and they do the tires and check the alignment. They said it was out, I figured it was due to tread wear on old tires. I approve the alignment. I'm outside talking to my friend on the phone and I see my car go from tire bay to alignment rack. No pre-alignment test drive. Not uncommon but still should be a good habit to see your baseline before you set the sensors. The alignment rack is in the back of the store, so I didn't go watch. The technician was gone maybe 15 minutes and my car was done. I saw the technician go on a "test drive" for maybe 2 mins, if that. Again, a test drive is vital to ensure the vehicle drives like factory settings. She parks the car and I pay the bill totaling over $1,000. All is good, get my keys. Here's where it all comes to light on what this company is showing new customers. I get on the road home and as soon as I turn the wheel, I knew something was off. So I get on a straight area and the steering wheel is off centered (to the left) and not by a little bit, about 1.5". If I straighten to 12 o'clock, it shoots right. If I hold it to the left where it tracks "straight", it's going left. So I turn around and say the alignment is off. I was gone about 5 mins of so. The alignment tech is already on an another vehicle, so I had to wait. All good, that happens. About 30 mins goes by and I'm sure that she's down by now, I mean my car took her 10 mins right lol. Nope, I was told she was struggling on a car. I was asked to bring it back tomorrow morning. I'll admit, I was getting irritated at this point. His will now be 3 times I'm here for tires and an alignment. I leave and come back at 8am Saturday morning. I give the keys to the manager and they take the car back. I didn't see them take it due to a tire truck blocking my view. I did notice they had my car up on the lift and I went to observe. Here's my observations: I asked the new tech working on the vehicle if he had test driven the vehicle prior to putting it on the alignment rack. His exact words " yes, from the parking spot to the rack". I don't know if he was being a smartass or he genuinely thought that was enough. I told him o didn't think that was enough distance to tell, but left it alone. Another tech, showed me the result of the initial measurements after the first alignment. It was off on the right toe by 21degrees in the "red" and off slightly on the left, but in the "green". He set the toe and pulled it out. They did show me the measurements after adjustments and all were in the recommended range by the manufacturer. So I go inside to wait. The tech goes from the rack and parks it. No test drive to confirm the repair fixed the issue. And I ask them. "Did he test drive it?". Al they said was "no" and handed me my keys. This is the customer service they are giving at this location. I was not offered any sort of refund for inconvenience or anything. Basically it was a " here's you're car, now leave". I didn't even get a print out of the alignment results due to faulty printer. Update: Update: Stay away from this shady company. They got me to the Regional Manager, Jonathan. I was told to take it to another location for re-check. All good, but at this point I asked for a refund on the alignment. I was told a re-check was needed to refund. I already did a re-check and re-alignment!! I just want a refund on the alignment is all. $119. He flat out told me I would not get a refund if I didn't get it checked and fixed. I told him I already did this Saturday, for the second time. I asked to refund and allow me to get it done elsewhere and was told it would void the warranty of the tires. So I'm stuck using these crooks. I did a claim, but I asked to speak to someone higher than him and told that the highest I could go. Please avoid this company at all cost!!! I went to Mavis on Main Street in Dunedin on 1/26/25 to have my 4 new tires put on and to have an alignment and it was such a pleasure to do business with them. The young man that put the tires on was so nice and professional and the man at the desk was very nice also. read more

I just got back from the marine corps and one of my tires had a manufacturer issue that I had gotten from them 9 months previously. The receipt showed it had a part and labor warranty which I was eligible for. I went in and got told by the disrespectful service clerk that the tire is technically not a part and that I would still need to pay for the whole tire. I was then told by customer service all the way up to the regional manager that there was nothing they could do and I was treated poorly while waiting to get my truck. This is the most pathetic excuse for a tire shop and I suggest anybody thinking about coming here to look elsewhere. read more

I called my local Palm Harbor Mavis shop to ask how much they charge for a Synthetic Blend oil change. Their response was $71.99. With the $10 off coupon it was $61.99. Fair enough. I just picked up my vehicle and they charged me $93. I asked about the difference and they told me it was an additional $14.00 for labor and $5.50 for the oil filter. Also a $5.50 for an extra quart of oil which I understand the extra oil charge. When I originally called about oil change prices, I did not ask how much the oil costs, I asked how much they charge for an OIL CHANGE. Adding labor and an oil filter (which come standard for oil changes) is very deceiving. If they do this on a basic oil change, I'm sure they are doing it on other services as well. Lesson learned as I will not use them for any future services. read more

I purchased 4 high performance tires (Michelin Pilot Sports) at one location and ended up having to drive 15 miles to another location because the first location I bought the tires from didn't have the right machine to install. After going home to get the truck to deliver the tires to the new location I then went home to get the car. After waiting about 3 hours luckily I was watching closely when they pulled the Viper in the bay and told them they were going to lift the car in the wrong lifting points (he was going to lift it under the linkages at each wheel!!!!!!!!). I told him where the lift points are and he proceeded to lift it correctly. Then when I pay and receive my car he tells me 2 of the center caps for the expensive wheels were rusted and broke (they are plastic!!!!!!!) So they didn't take the time to pry them off correctly or didn't know what they were doing. Now I can't find the 2 caps that match the others and will have to buy 4 generic caps that won't look near as good. The first location was Dunedin Fl and the second location was Clearwater Fl. read more

When others would seek to take advantage of me I can count on Mavis in Palm harbor to tell me exactly what's wrong with my car or my tires honestly and in good faith. Then I went to Palm Harbor auto a few weeks later to get my oil changed and a check up for my car and they said my rotors and brake pads were completely fine. read more

I came in earlier then my appointment time,to get my tire patched and or get a new tire, the female with the red hair at the counter informed me i did not have an appointment and felt that she could get an attitude due to miscommunication from their call center and what she had in her computer system. She then ignored me when i had another question and pretended she couldn't hear me when i was the only customer in the waiting room. Due to her poor customer service and attitude Mavis lost a customer and it might not be a big deal to Mavis as a whole but that female with the red hair should get an attitude correction check. You never know what people are going through and her attitude did not help anything. read more

slow leak in a rear tire on my CR-V, dropped into Mavis Palm Harbor service woman was very friendly .. examined the tire and found a leak in the tread. Also saw windshiel blades so asked for 2 as well as the tire repair they took it into the shop right away... fixed the tire, installed the wipers and I was done in 20 minutes! then... somehow I was selected for "free service" plus a discount on the wipers YIKES. ..... only #35 for the whole deal Could NOT be better read more

Palm Harbor, Alt 19 Mavis. The worst service I have ever had. Never called to say my tires were there. Wasted half my morning. Very incompetent Kevin could not pull my truck in the shop, another man had to stop him, get him out of my truck, and then that man pulled my truck in. 45 minutes past the time they told me my truck would be ready. All the while Marina was playing video games on her mini game console. Making personal call about her daughter's summer camp. Also during this time a lady came in and said she had an oil change the day before and when her husband checked the car he found that the oil was very low, wiper fluid was empty, and her tires were low, even though the tire dummy light was on when she brought it in. Then they tell me that our alignment machine is broke, but we tried to align your truck, but now it pulls to the right and the steering wheel is not straight and that I had to go to the Tarpon Springs store to get the alignment done. When I go to my truck, I see all the center caps just about falling off, none of the nuts on the center caps were tight, one was missing(they are not designed to come off) so Kevin destroyed all 4 of my center caps by taking off, and reinstalling plastic nuts with an impact gun. I then noticed that none of the valve stems were replaced, no valve caps were on it. I was the told that it was Kevin's first week. Never not one sorry from Marina. So when I get to the Tarpon Springs store, Yosvanny greeted me and said Marina should have known your truck will not fit on our rack, but since you are here, let me see if I can help. He came back a few minutes later and said he could not do the alignment. I told him I felt that my truck was unsafe to drive and could he please look my truck over. He said sure, come with me. When we got to the truck we noticed that there were not any wheel weights on my wheels (except an old one on the drivers front inside, meaning Kevin mounted my tire with an old wheel weight still on. At that point I started to get really mad. Yosvanny asked me if I could please have a seat in the waiting room and let him make my truck right, and balance my tires. So while he personally worked on my truck, Shy was inside the show room with me. She was very nice and professional. She actually took the time to call and make sure another store could do my alignment, and made a print out of the stores information and highlighted all the info I needed to know. She let me know I needed to see Felix (great guy !!) and that he was waiting for me. Yosvanny finished my truck and brought it around for me and said he was sorry for the service I got at Marina's shop. I left and went to see Felix. Went into the shop and met Felix. He had heard a bit of my problem and said he was waiting for me. He then called out to one of his workers, gave him my keys and said get this mans truck on the rack right away. He did. All set. Even though I walked in the door at Marina's shop at 11:45, it is now 5:30. All day, 3 shops to get tires and a alignment. At this point I think I'm good. A few hours later, my girlfriend walks in the door and says your truck is hissing. So I go outside to see my passenger rear tire almost flat and it is leaking from the valve stem by the rim. So I call Felix. He says Sir, I want you to bring the truck to me so I can go through it to make sure nothing else is wrong and he wanted to replace all 4 valve stems at no cost. We agreed on 9am the next morning. I started to wonder if the other valve stems were going to break. So, thinking my truck was unsafe to drive, I had it towed to Felix's shop. Once there, Felix and his excellent crew fixed all my problems. However my center caps are destroyed and I had to take them off so they dont fall off. After over $1200, 2 days and 3 shops, a guy should be happy to look at his new tires.... But no, now I look my wheels with no center caps feeling like I was robbed. Hopefully, Mavis will step up, I will let you know..... read more
