Don't bring your car here! I had front end work done on my car and needed a front-end alignment. The car was pulling ever so lightly to the left. I dropped it off at Pep Boys in Pinellas Park and left. They said it would take about an hour and after about an hour I called them. They said my car was ready. I picked up my car and as I was driving home, I noticed that there was a loud noise and the care was pulling hard right. I had my husband drive it when I got home and he told me to take it back. After a second attempt (which I don't think they did) the car was still noisy and pulling hard right. When I complained about it they said that the front-end parts were put on wrong. When we got the car home for the second time my husband put it on stands and looked at it. The work was perfect He found that the loud noise was coming from the tires. They took my tires off but failed to tighten the lug nuts. We tightened those and the noise disappeared. Then we took the car to Tire Kingdom. We didn't tell them about our experience at Pep Boys; just asked for the alignment and take a look underneath to make sure everything was good. I got a call from them about two hours later. The was ready and tracking straight. The tech form Tire Kingdom compliment the front-end work say it was beautiful. I have since disputed the charges with corporate. They said that they received the rebuttal form the shop who stated the front-end was assembled wrong. Liars! Do Not Bring Your Car Here. read more

Our family has been using Pep Boys here in Florida for at least 10 years and before that in other states with total satisfaction. This past week we took our older 2004 Lincoln Town Car in because of a leak under the passenger rear side of the car. We were told that to diagnose the problem would be $41.00 that seemed fair --so we had that done and an oil change. The oil changes have gone way up and with a coupon was still $100.00 The tech told us the quote back to fix the leaking seals and to replace the bearings was--$1,900--mostly labor. We took it to another independent mechanic who did the job --adding a new axel--which was needed --for a total of $450.00 including parts. One quarter the price. We have lost all confidence in this shop --and sadly will take our business elsewhere. read more

The worst service, I took my car to do the breaks and after 1 day my car lost power completely (my car was fine before I never had any problem) and I am 100% sure that they did something wrong when they were doing the breaks, I took back my car and of course they said that nothing wrong happened when they did the brakes. I took my car in because my alterator needed to be replaced. Initally, the repairs were to be done same day. However, the part needed to be ordered from my dealership, which meant additional days before I would get my car back. Anthony went above and beyond and paid for a rental car so I could attend an out of town function I had already planned. Please don't take your car here! The WORST I mean the worst customer service I ever encountered with. I took my car here I had a shifter cable issue . I took my car up there on a Tuesday they had one fucking worker which is crazy at car shop but that's another story. They had my car for two whole weeks saying that they "were waiting" on the part. My car sat there with no communication, I called every day and got a new answer . After the part get here they so called fix the original problem now I my starter is a problem when their "main mechanic" did his diagnostics on my car. There never was a starter issue now I have a starter issue. I could've took my car anywhere else and had it fixed then they tried to overcharge me. They said the cost would be $700 but when my warranty got in contact with them, it was all of a sudden $400 . If I could, I would never have took my car to this place. Had an issue with my truck not running right all of a sudden. Upon suggestion of a friend, took it to Pep Boys Pinellas Park to be put on diagnostics. Easy enough to work with making the appointment and then drop off. The next day I get a call telling me they think it's a problem within the engine and that they don't do things like that. So I go to pick up my truck and could tell they never moved it. Good thing is they never charged me the $99 dollar fee even though their website states $89. So I get it home, and start working on it to find a piece of hose stuck in my throttle body holding it open. So I took that out, continued with my tune up and started it up to find my truck running better than ever! Good news is, they could have found it and charged me some ridiculous fee to do it, but the sheer matter of fact they seemed like they didnt want to bother really urked me! read more

I am so sick and tired of being scammed and ripped off. My car engine overheated and my car broke down right in front of this place, unfortunately. I went in and asked for assistance. The guys were great about pushing my car into the lot so they could take a look at it. I was told I needed a $1500 part to repair a hose. They failed to mention that the engine was COMPLETELY FRIED and that this $1500 part wouldn't help with jack diddly. The repair guy even had the gall to say "I'm trying to do right by you. I spoke to Anthony on the phone for my appointment and Brandon was the gentleman who fixed my tire. Both men were kind, empathetic, knowledgeable and gave quick and easy service. They are definitely gonna have my business again and they should have yours, too! Long post: After a long day of work, I drive halfway home only to find my tire pressure is crazy and randomly low. I pull over and see a nail in my tire. I call Pep Boys of Pinellas Park, randomly because that's who came up on my Google search for tire repair, who's also closest to my home. Holy cow I'm glad that they came up. I called and Anthony answered. Anthony was so kind and helpful and gave an appointment for the next day, 3/26/25 for 8 AM. I asked if I could drop the car off that night (3/25/25) and have a ride come pick me up. While I was waiting for my ride, Anthony told me that Brandon is going to fix the tire in that moment and I may not need to come in the next day. Long story short, they fixed the tire and had me on the road ready to go, safely. Anthony and Brandon had amazingly friendly service; they were fast efficient, honest and all-around amazing. Still called ahead to be sure I could afford an oil change there and get the "free" tire rotation. Was told that I couldn't get conventional oil for my 11 year old Chevy so I'd have to pay for the more expensive synthetic change for $75. Decided it was still worth it since I had a coupon to lower that price and I wanted the tires rotated. After driving almost a half an hour to get there I was told that the oil change would be $113 despite someone else having quoted me $75. Very disappointed with my first and last visit to the Pinellas Park Pep Boys. We had an appointment at 10 AM. They did not start on my car until after noon. They knew I was sitting there waiting. And then I wanted an alinement after getting 4 new tires and without telling me there machine was down they just took my car to another location without telling me. I thought they were doing a test drive and then it was 45 minutes and I ask were my car was. That is when I was informed it was at another location to do the alinement. He then proceeded to explain to me that the website allows unlimited bookings and that two other fellows had ALSO booked an 8am appointment and had arrived there before me... on top of the fact that he had only ONE mechanic working. I recently had my car towed in for not staying running when started. My car would not stay running when turned on. I was told by the store manager Carlos that I needed to replace my fuel pump & it would cost me $1,150. + tax to replace it. I decided to go with my gut & have my car towed to another shop where I was advised my air intake tube needs to be replaced. They also put tape around this tube & my car stayed running for a long period of time. Yes, I do understand that ounce this part is replaced there could be other issues. But to go from a $1,150 bill down to a $50. bill is insane!! I DO NOT recommend you to take your car hear unless your willing to be taken advantage of!!! read more

I saw a set of tires on their website that I wanted. I contacted them and Carlos said that they had 5 of them in stock. I told him I wanted 4 of them. He set up an appointment for me for today. When I went there I was told that not only do they NOT have that tire, but they no longer carry them and that I couldn't even order them. FRAUD! FRAUD! DECEPTION!!! The manager stated they couldn't hold tires unless they are paid for in advance. I told him that I would have been glad to do so if I was even given that option however, Carlos never mentioned it. He should be fired and Pep Boys should be taken to task for advertising a product that they don't have. They wasted my time and money driving there only to learn that it was all bogus. And everyone there is super nice. And they are open til 7, so if you get done with work at 5 they are still open. Was doing my brakes on my 97 ONS Chevy K1500 and could not get the lung nuts to loosen at all (over torqued). Stopped by Pep Boys and spoke with Clint about the issues and he said he would help me out. Dylan loosened all the lug nuts and torqued them back correctly so that I could easily remove them at home. So I call to make an appointment last week, let them know I had a coupon for an oil change. I rush around all day to make sure I'm at my appointment On time . When I arrive, they let me know my truck is what they call a fleet vehicle and that they cannot honor my oil change because they cannot call and verify if they will receive payment. I have been to this location before with same said coupons.I work 60 to 70 hours a week, and don't have much time to book appointments. I am very disappointed with this experience and how they could not just tell me the conditions whenever I made the appointment. Would have saved me a whole lot of trouble. We have been to this Pep Boys twice now and we have come to really like and trust them. Do we leave feeling like we could have done it WAY cheaper ourselves? Absolutely. It is an auto repair store after all. On our most recent trip we had to get our front right control arm replaced. It was actually broken when we finally took it in. We had been quoted a much higher price at a different company and told that we would also HAVE to get an alignment. We knew this going in to Pep Boys, but were hoping to avoid the alignment. Pep Boys replaced the control arm and tested the alignment and told us we were good to go. They didn't even suggest we pay extra for the alignment that we didn't even need. They have a pretty comfortable waiting area with a tv, USB and power plug-in's and even a Keurig with K-cups. We will definitely be using Pep Boys again. read more

Their services were on the expensive side, but not so much that it outweighed the convenience factor. They also have a free loyalty program that offers a lot of nice perks. Stopped at jiffy lube and after they tried me with the whole "synthetic" oil sham , I called my dealership to verify this , they told me my car never needed this and that the filters they use cause issues due to their generic brand they use....pshhh. Decided to try SAMs club they pointed me to this location. I have been taking my cars to Pep Boys for many years and have always received first class service, but recently the experience has even gotten better! I have a brand new car under 5,000 miles and picked up a slow leak in one of the tires. I brought it to the Pinellas Park store, they checked it out in less than 20 minutes, found a screw in the tire, fixed it and check the air in the other tires and they did this for no charge!
