I ordered A set of tires and made an appt for last week. The morning of the appt I called to make sure they had the tires. No. I was told, the order was cancelled by the Brandon store. ?! But they would try to get them from Sarasota. Called Tuesday this week and I told John I would leave the car early this morning. Put the keys and note in drop box T 7am this morning. I went to pick up the car this evening and it had not been touched. The man running the counter said it was his first day with the company. I asked why my tires had not been put on. He said Jack told him it was for tomorrow. I said I don't know who Jack is but I made an appt with John and was there nothing noted or in the computer. No he said and John is gone. I said give me keys. He could not locate my keys. Finally in amazement I said "might they still be in the Dropbox outside?" He looked at me and then went to check and sure enough my keys and note were still there. I said "you mean to tell me nobody thought to check the Dropbox and just wondered my car sat there all day" he said they would try to do better. Bought tires for our 2015 car through the website and picked them up at the store in December...did not have PB install them, but the experience was a good one. SO when we needed tires installed on our Volvo SUV, I called to check on having them installed there. Worst mistake ever. They told me they could install new dealer "take-offs" over the phone, and when I arrived they wouldn't. When I asked for the district managers phone number they gave me 1-800-pep-boys. I stood in the store and called and they proceeded to call a police officer to try to intimidate me to hang-up and leave. Take your chances with this store if you want, but if they are in the wrong, you are out of luck, because they don't own their mistakes, let alone correct them. I had new tires put on my Hyundia Accent and the "boys" are amazing! Great customer service. Competitive pricing. They did the job in record time. Nice waiting area. Aaron even made me coffee. Watched an episode of CSI on the big screen TV. Would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. read more

Do not use them. I was told my AC would not work unless I got a list of parts that totaled $1650! I took my car to another shop weeks ago and they fixed my leak and O ring for $250 and said the other parts were fine, my air has been blowing cold ever since! Went to this store for an alignment, when I parked the mechanics were just sitting with no work to do. At 8:30 this is not a good sing for the shop. They checked my vehicle and then notified me at I needed approx $1500.00 in repairs. They even said things that were just replaced needed to be replaced. Drove to my normal mechanic and only needed 2 parts for about 1/6 of the price. Would not go to this place again. read more

I have a non standard scenario in restoring a 57 chevy. Wasn't sure on tire clearance with offset/BS and so ordered 1 wheel and had these guys mount a tire I wanted so I could mock fit. Turned out perfect and these guys got me in without any hassle even though I could tell they were busy. Hope I get the names right (John, Jesse and Aaron) all couldn't have been more helpful and considering it was busy and everything they did - SUPER appreciated ....... 10/10. My first experience with Pep Boys was fantastic. As a female, I often get treated either with a dismissive attitude or with the intention of trying to take advantage of me at most car repair shops. Not the case here at all! They were super friendly and knowledgeable. Jose advised that I did not need certain services that I was coming in for and it saved me a ton of money. I would not have known and he easily could have just let me go ahead and pay for those unneeded services and I would have been none the wiser. He also checked my car out to see if it needed an alignment (as the prior place I went to had said that my car really needed one). Sure enough, he called me and said that my car was fine and an alignment was not needed. Instead they addressed two issues that I was unaware of, there was no pressure to get other things fixed that I did not want. Friendly, great service, honest and has integrity - they have most definitely earned my business!! read more

Do not go to this location if you're a female. They told me I had a leak in my oil pan after going in for a simple oil change and it would cost $300!!! I went to get a second option and there was no leak!! That is very disappointing and have heard that pep boys has been in trouble and known for this!! 2nd time I've made an appointment for an oil change at this place and was told it'd be an hour and a half once I got there...what's the purpose of an appointment? This is not meant to be a smear on Pep Boys in general, just this particular store. I've been to 2 other stores in this area which have been great and is also the reason why I gave these clowns a 2nd chance...shame on me as the saying goes. There is a small local guy 3 blocks down the road where I get anything significant done on my car and he does oil changes as well, go there...PINELLAS TOTAL CAR CARE, I just did a review on him if you want to learn about that experience. read more

I don't usually write reviews but as someone who doesn't like to go to the car mechanic because a lot of places don't take me seriously because I am a girl who drives a 22 year old junker car, I was amazed with this place and had to share! I was in and out in no time, the price was extremely fair and the people were very nice. Joe was the mechanic who worked on Tercel and he really made me feel like he was listening to the things I explained and answered all my questions. Thank you, I will be back! read more

I called this shop to ask how much for diagnostic and the person who answered the phone (Clint I believe was his name) said that it would be $89.99. So I brought my car in, after a couple of hours I called them to know the result and he said that the valve cover needs to be remove and that would cost me $520. If the lifters and valve need to be replaced all I have to pay are for the parts. I declined his suggestion and when I came in to pay for the diagnostics he charged me the $89.99 PLUS FEES plus tax which he did not mention before. I understand that tax will be incurred but fees that he forgot to mention? The total bill came to $105.91 for them to JUST listen to the motor and make another suggestion that will cost me over $500 that still will not guarantee to fix the car. The moral of the story, ask for specifics. This store will charge you for whatever without telling you before getting their service rendered. BEWARE!! read more

I have had several services with this location. One service was with Jose, he was a little unattentive and did not listen to all my concerns. Another service was with Joe, he was great. Joe was friendly and very straight forward with what repairs were needed. Will go back to Joe for future services. read more
