I seldom write a review but this time I would like to acknowledge Andy and his crew for a job well done. Andy is a very honest person. Upfront, he told me he will check my car and if it is electrical problem he won't be able to fix it because the guy who deals with this quit a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, it wasn't. In less than half an hour, my car was fixed and charged me only $16.00 including labor. I can't believe it though. Thanks Andy. In the past, I wrote unfavorable review on this pep boys branch for not having tires I ordered online though I received an email saying it was available in this store . I usually don't come to this location because it's not close to my house, but I was in the area at the time. I came for a simple vehicle inspection. The process went fairly quick and I had no issues at all. I spent a good 25 minutes there from start to finish. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the customer service. The experience I had during the inspection was okay. But when I initially went to check in, I was not greeted, I waited a few minutes to even be acknowledged and I finally said something. He just walked right by me and went behind the counter. Not a huge deal but customer service is a big part of a company especially if you are the first face we see. The employee who guided me to where to go when I walk in didn't greet me either. I had to walk to the counter as he stared at me and ask Him where to go. I was a little surprised while making eye contact that nothing was said to me. read more

The staff here is a little snooty and filled with people with little to no work ethic. They blast rap and reggaeton over the intercom, the staff seems to always be on break, they do not call when the vehicle is done and these employees in the repair shop are not familiar with procedures. Ok so I don't do many reviews but this pep boys deserves every one of the 5 stars I've given them.this could of been not the greatest review if not for just about the best customer service you can ask for out of a place ... there was a Problem with with my original battery installation to my 335i Bmw ... these guys went above and beyond my wildest expectations... they took full responsibility of it and literally just brought my car to my door step good as new ... Esiquil , the service manager deserves the rockstar badge of the year ... I will for sure be bringing my baby back to this shop... not only did they bring my car to my door step they kept me posted every step of the way , after writing this post I'm going to contact pep boys corporate and give my praises to this place . I had a voucher to have my tyres rotated and brakes checked at Pep Boys, so took my van to Reseda. It seems what my voucher was actually good for was being spoken to briefly and quite rudely, being made to wait two hours in a hot, dirty waiting room, before being told that my tyres could not be rotated without spending $200 + on new ones. When I questioned why I had been made to wait so long with zero communication about this before, I was told they had tried to call me many times on my cell phone, (which was right next to me on the chair and hadn't rung once) and that they had looked for me. Obviously not to hard as I was sat a mere 2 metres away from the service desk and service manager for the whole two hours. I spoke to the service manager about how poor I thought their service was. No apology, just a shrug and a lengthy explanation of his usual protocol with customers. But apparently not with my custom. Next time I hear that obnoxious Pep Boys advert on the radio, driveling on about how great they are, the whole car radio is going out the window. read more

Just showed up to this Pep Boys because I've had to jump my car three times in the last 24hrs. Not knowing anything about cars the next logical step is to bring it to someone that does and these guys do. I am actually really impressed. I always read peoples reviews before I go anywhere but decided in this desperate Time to take the chance and just come. Although they were super busy they really took the time to help my confused and frustrated self out. I know nothing about cars nor do I try to. They didn't make me feel stupid or that they didn't have the time. I also like that they were concerned about me spending extra if it's not actually my battery that is causing the problem. The service manager(Zeek) is great! While he was being very attentive to me he was also acknowledging all the other customers coming in and letting them know that they will be right with them as soon as possible. Even as we were walking out the door towards my car because he took that extra time to look to see if I had any service lights on...he still acknowledged people coming in and saying "we'll be right with you". Gosh even the new girl behind the service desk was eager to help and learn about cars and her new job with pep boys. I like having females employed at car service places as it makes me feel comfortable too. This review is for the excellent customer service given by a young man "JD". I came here after a very rude and dismissive experience from the another Pep Boys location (in Woodland Hills) and I felt turned away on a Wednesday afternoon but this location serviced me well. I was very impressed and satisfied by the customer service given by JD who was so nice and pleasant to work with. My High Mileage oil change was done very well and he also honored a small Pep Boys coupon I brought with me. He also suggested that we do a diagnostic test in the future for future service work in case anything goes wrong with my car, which does have some longterm mileage on it. The mechanic also spoke Spanish to me and explained everything that was done to my vehicle. I felt that the service was done with an ample but quicker amount of time. JD was very nice, very kind and provided me great customer service and excellent store experience. Thank you, I look forward to coming back based on this. read more

I stopped by out of desperation on a Sunday morning. The service area was empty with 2 guys behind the counter. I stood in front of the 2 employees for over 5 minutes before one of the guys said he would be with us in just a minutes. Five minutes later we were still waiting for someone to help us. Very bad services. For the past year I had my front and back breaks done with them which they did a HORRIBLE JOB ON!!! My front breaks made noise since the first day! My back breaks started making noise last month! ( odd right), yesterday I went to have my breaks check at the Westminster location! And my front breaks were 20% one side and 50% the other side(already so soon?) ... Shouldn't breaks be wear out the same? Plus they weren't adjusted correctly! The back breaks were making noise because they were adjusted to tight! I'm very upset with this pep boys location! Thanks to Westminster location I got the problem solve! I just need my new DIY steppers i bought online to be installed so that my date tonight won't have a problem climbing the SUV thus to save time & energy I just went outside to have it installed, good thing the waiting room at Pepboys has windows on it while they're working on your car, so I sat down when i looked back the hood was open and the technician took out the battery and toss it on the floor. WTF! I was shocked, I only wanted the steppers installed outside the SUV. I asked the counter and he said oh he's just checking the battery, oh he made a mistake. I asked about my batteries, I don't want to be replacing it later on coz it's damaged, then they said oh it's gonna be ok, didn't even apologize. Definitely NOT coming back. ;( read more

COMPLETLEY DEPRESSING AND ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE customer service. Every sales associate and manager absolutely hates their lives as well as the people who set foot in their store. They should all quit and give their jobs to someone who'll be grateful for it in this day and age. Went in to get my brakes serviced a while back, ended up with a $400+ tab (which I didn't mind because it was brakes all around), the service took over 5hrs to complete. Within a month I start hearing a consistent clattering on my right-back brake as I stopped, every time... Not the best sign when I just got brand new brakes, so I went in and after another 5hrs they conclude that its junk in my trunk doing the noise and send me off... So feeling a bit better, I continue to drive the car yet the noise persists and within another month I get severe grinding noises in my front brakes and diminished braking power. Took it in last weekend, and yes another 5hrs later they figure out they didn't do a proper job on my right-back brake and as a result the front disks got damaged and were rendered useless.... Of course they tried charging me for all the repairs that were resulting from their incompetence!!! I ended up paying for replacement disk, but bought them elsewhere as I don't want to give my business to those who don't appreciate their customers. Please keep away from this location, there's other reviews which state the same issue and brakes aren't something to take lightly! read more

This review if for "Pep Boys" repair services - in regards to horrible work on my car breaks. In a nutshell, I don't trust Pep Boys to work on my car anymore and they may never see me in their stores again. My bad experience started at the Reseda, CA shop and ended at the Thousand Oaks, CA shop today. (Note: I have experience working on breaks on my cars in the past.) On Dec 3rd 2016, I went into the Reseda, CA Pep Boys for what I thought would be a simple front end break pad inspection and possibly pad replacement job for about $158. But it turned out to be a $535 job instead. I was informed that one of my front calipers was seized and needed to be replaced. As a result, they also needed to replace both rotors and pads. Pep Boys checked the back drum breaks and said those also needed new pads too. They evidently didn't have the correct tools to fix the back drum breaks, because the drums had bearings built into them and whatever else??? I was informed I should get my car back that weekend, but that didn't happen. Instead, Pep Boys ended up keeping my car all Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and most of Monday - just to fix the breaks. (Ridiculous!) I ended up taking Monday off work to make sure to get my car back that day. When I finally picked up the car I was informed that they had to replace the back drums because they were damaged when they removed them. They didn't charge me for the drums, maybe as consolation for having kept my car all weekend and Monday? Fast Forward 3 months and I began to notice that my car was making a loud buzzing/humming noise in the back; this got progressively worse. I finally couldn't bear it anymore and brought the car back into Pep Boys on May 8th, 2017 - this time to a Pep Boys closer to my residence in Thousand Oaks, CA. I was informed that the bearings in the rear break drums where bad and that was where the noise was coming from. Great! To make matters worse, the Thousand Oaks Pep Boys wouldn't warrantee the drums because I wasn't charged for them at the Reseda Pep Boys, so now I ended up having to shell out another $145 to cover them replacing the drums. (and spend my time dealing with this again) "Total Break job expense $680" - Problem solved right??? Wrong!!! Just 5 months later that buzzing/humming sound is back and has been getting progressively worse. Drums bearings again, right? I would think so? So on I brought the car back to Pep Boys on Friday afternoon at 4pm (the day after Thanksgiving). They were not able to keep the appointment that I made online, which was not a surprise to me since they have done this to me before. A word to Pep Boys here. "Pep Boys!- Please stop offering online appointment registrations if you can't keep them. REALLY, just give it up, you are so full of crap to even offer that illusion, because you can't keep your appointments. Thanks!" That being said I ended up talking with the service rep about everything I've explained above and we "Scheduled" for me to bring the car back Sunday morning at 9am, because they said that would be better. So I brought the car in this morning (Sunday) and, long story short, 3 hours later I returned to have a different service rep tell me that they heard the noise and that they could warrantee my drums for new ones, and even upgrade to better quality drums. All for just $350. (your kidding me right?) The rep didn't bother to verify whether the noise was coming from the drums, although I expect it was. Let me back up some. The rep first explained that they had looked at resurfacing the drums but that they couldn't because they were out of spec and that the pads needed to be replaced too. (WHAT? - you have got to be kidding me right? These are practically new drums and pads.) At that point I realized that this shop (Pep Boys in general) is incompetent at best, and out right dishonest at worst, because I highly doubt that 6 month old rear break drums wouldn't be able to be resurfaced and I highly doubt that the 11 month old rear break pads would even need replacing. So now what? Now I have lost confidence in Pep Boys. "All Pep Boys". This is a Nationwide chain or at least a big chain. Sorry, but I can't blame the Reseda store and then give the Thousand Oaks store a pass. They are equally "Pep Boys" in my mind and therefore are all to blame. Instead of dropping another $350 into my breaks that should have been done right the first time, with quality parts, I might add. I plan to bring my business elsewhere, indefinitely. In regards to "quality parts". What kid of crap did you put on my car Pep Boys??? Why bother putting "inferior" parts on cars and irritating your customers with having to come back in to warrantee the crap over and over again. In my case you wanted to put the same crap on again? or jack me for quality parts you should be using in the first place. Get it together Pep Boys. It saddens me, but the bright side is that local mechanics won't have to do much better to take the business away. read more

A little disclaimer: I don't know very much about cars. But I do know what my car should sound like, and after getting our oil change at this location my car just sounded different. I had no idea what the problem was until I was told by a friend it's probably because they overfilled the oil, and sure enough we checked and it was a good amount past the full mark. If I could give them negative stars I would!!!! I've been to this location twice, the first time I saw them being shady to some old man. I did not think anything of it at the time, until I went in the second time. Not only did they try to charge me $1800 for a simple oil change, but they thought they could take advantage of me! Ten minutes into getting a "oil change" they told me I would need to pay $1000 for a new oil pan and they were going to keep my car for two days charging me $800 on labor. Supposedly the last service on my car was over torqued and the bolt broke, except the last service was pepboys& supposedly pepboys can't possible over torque because there tools have a safety. I am a girl that knows very little about oil pans in cars so I called a life line, my boyfriend, who works at a attorney office for situations like these where people try to take advantage. He spoke to Zeek and explained that I was not paying $1800 for a new pan and labor when all I wanted was a simple oil change. The next day Zeek tells me they fixed the problem and did the oil change it was $95 dollars by the end of it all. I will NEVER go back to a pepboys and I will make sure everyone I know NEVER goes to a pepboys, worst experience ever!!!! THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. read more

Went in to Pep Boys to get new headlights for my Honda Accord and everyone in the store was super helpful free installation they even found a nail in my tire I didn't know about and fixed it for me. I can't say enough about the great service I received today service manager was super friendly and so was the entire staff highly recommend going to the store. Because they do these things for free I also recommend tipping them generously because they deserve it! read more

I called to see how much it was to get a patch/plug in my tire and they said it was free as long as I was a rewards member. Fast forward to when I get there: Was told there was a 1 hour wait which actually ended up being a 2 hour wait!! Not only that they charged me for the patch after telling me there was no cost. I don't mind it but just tell tell me. That's all I ask. Will not be returning. And please don't respond to me asking to email your customer service department to discuss this further. read more

Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this car place! If you call, be prepared to be on hold... for - a - long - time... Over thirty minutes was my experience. Then, when I finally got someone on the phone to talk to me, he wouldn't listen to what I was asking him for. Finally, when I tried to get him to factor in a coupon for the service, he blatantly misrepresented the small print, indicating that I had to purchase several hundred dollars worth of parts in order for the coupon to apply. I was looking at the coupon. I read him the fine print. He continued to imply a non-existent qualification. I took the coupon to the Pep Boys in Woodland Hills instead, and everything worked out. This place is as awful as it gets. Take your dollars elsewhere, and vote them out of business. read more

This is for the store, not the service side. Being a mechanic you have to stop by the usual supply stores and this place has a huge selection. Though disappointed they don't carry STP oil filters but got to do with whatever is close at times. The customer service in the service center is very disappointing. I came into have my head lights restored spoke with the service mgr sal he told me that it could take up to an hour to restore if I wanted to shop or wait in the waiting room by the time I gave him my keys it was 1:50pm. I decided to to shop after 40 mins of killing time I made my away to the waiting room as I passed by I saw that my car hasn't even been moved from the parking lot. I didn't say anything thinking he would still have my car done in a timely manner . Its been over 2hrs I came in before five customer there all done and I'm still here ! When I mention to the Sal that its been 2hr he responed to by saying " Good thing you have nothing to do today" I responded back to him tell him "I do have things to take care of today" As a customer I feel the manager doesn't respect my time or me. They said our system doesn't say this doesn't work. Um maybe your system sucks. And maybe the people in your shop should be more knowledgeable.
