My car had a "fixable tire" with a nail in it. I only went to Pep Boys because my tire warranty shop which includes a "free" replacement is closed on Sundays and I did not want to be 1 hour late for work for Monday. Unfortunately, I waited over an hour only for Pep Boys to tell me that the tire was not fixable. I let them know I had a spare tire in the back. Pep Boys' policy is that they can not install a used spare. So, I had them put the donut on and I took it to my regular tire store the next morning to confirm the tire was in fact fixable. If Pep Boys did not have a mechanic capable of fixing a tire they should have stated on arrival. It took my place less than 20 minutes and I was off to work. I gave 3 stars instead of 2 because Pep Boys did not charge me and the manager was friendly. I suggest Pep Boys please post what the policies are on fixing tires and let customers know if employees are not capable or unavailable to fix tires in advance. Other customers could be forced to buy new tires when they shouldn't because personnel was not trained or not present on repair a tire. Customers should also learn when a tire is fixable and when it's not, as well as know if the tire is within warranty. read more

I purchased 4 tires last year (2016). Recently one of the tire went bad. Went to pep boys on reseda blvd at about 8:30 p.m. to have the tire replace we were told they were already closed. Went back the next day. I was told they didn't have the right tire that they will order it and call me back as soon as they get the tire. The next day I called the store and ask what was the status of my order. I was told they didn't know about my order. So, they said that the manager wasn't in and that he will call me back as soon as he gets back in the store. To make my story short. I'm still waiting for pep boys to call me back 2 days later no calls. I need my car to go to work and pep boys haven't call me back at all. Thanks pep boys. If I could give this Pep Boys ZERO stars, I would. I went in to have my brakes changed and ended up paying for tons of unnecessary parts and services. If you're a female with limited knowledge on cars, STAY AWAY from here because they're definitely not honest. They will increase the price after they give you the estimate, and beware because they'll tell you you're eligible for "mail-in rebates" but there are no rebates at all. I was told parts would be $6 and on my receipt I was charged $50. Just stay away from this place, especially if you're dealing with a guy named Salvador Rodriguez. Waited two hours for them to make a nail in tire repair only to have it fail a week later. I go back and they take 30 minutes to check me in only to tell me they can't even give me an estimated timeframe for my tire to be looked at but said it would definitely be more than an hour. Don't bother making an appointment as they don't honor it. I went for a oil change at 9am and the guy said "I'm really backed up right now it'll be a while." I have been a regular customer for over four years, but soon I was completely disappointed with the staff at Reseda 7340 Blvd., Reseda, California 91335. They have a rude and idiotic, neglectful attitude towards customers, with absolutely no respect. This new staff in this place really does not deserve to work anywhere. I had an appointment to change the oil and when I arrived at exactly nine o'clock in the morning to change the oil, I met the fat man behind the computer and said I had an appointment for 9 o'clock in the morning to change the oil. He replied: sit down and wait a few minutes because we have customers and we are busy. A few minutes later I was called and I made an order for an oil change and brake check. It was about 9:06 in the morning. They took the keys from my car and told me to wait. I waited until 10:49 in the morning. (almost two hours). In all these 2 hours, these 3 guys have seen me at least 10 times. These three individuals are the people who have been on this shift - 1. a fat man behind the computer 2. a fat and bald guy who checks Lyft drivers outside 3. The young Latino boy has been working there for at least two years. What happened next? I asked the fat man at the computer at 10:49 AM. Is my car ready or not started yet? He answered me: I'm sorry, but when I saw you, I didn't recognize you. During those two hours, I heard from him a lot of negative comments about previous clients. Also, the fat guy who handled the LYFT drivers saw me at least four times but didn't tell me that they would be delaying my service. I will never go to this place again. read more

I mean, what can I say. These people are amazing. I made an early appointment for 11am and when I came, I was promptly assisted and given a wide range of options including my best price options as well as a full manual checkup. Immediately, Rudy and Eddy helped me out and understood that I was strapped for cash and gave me the best options. Within minutes, my price significantly dropped and I was able to afford everything that needed to be done. As a student working part-time, my ability to shell out cash is not the greatest. I highly recommend this place for students who are also strapped for cash or anyone in general. The service was impeccable and these people really made my week. I came in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised to find that everything I need to be done (which was a lot) could be done efficiently, economically, and effectively. Came into this particular Pep Boys for the third time since I moved into the area. As I walked in I was greeted by the cashier and another guy who worked there. I was only in there 30 seconds looking for some battery cables when another employee by the name of James asked I need some help. So I took him up on his offer. I returned later in the week for my second appointment and left my car. 4 hours later they call me to tell me they hadn't started and I would need to come back tomorrow. Service dept. is a joke. Came here to get a headlight fixed after first having stopped at Sears to get a quote. The guys here were extremely helpful and welcoming! I ended up paying less than half I was quoted at Sears and in under 30 minutes. But I will say that I have been going to this location for a couple of years now for basic services like oil changes and brake jobs and this place is fine. Just be sure to sign up for their coupons in the mail and they are happy to honor them. The mechanic even brought in my old brake pads to show me the wear. I actually liked that.
