Not happy. Made an app more than 24 hours before to then have my husband arrive & them not have me scheduled. All information was given upon making the appointment. I also asked incredibly detailed questions to be sure to expect the correct pricing. what I asked for should have been free. Turned out not to be which wouldn't be a huge deal if I was told upfront. keep in mind I asked questions over the phone knowing what I wanted inspected. Do not go here! They charged me $1,000. Replaced my water pump and it was broken next week. I had to get it replaced. They did a better job in Mexico for way less! The people seemed nice, but I feel they are overcharged ASF. They actually did the work without permission and I paid it just because I didn't want to blow a gasket no pun intended. Their services are pretty much doubled anywhere else. They couldn't even explain their troubleshooting process to me which was super sketch. Now they want more money to fix a problem they never fixed the first session. Stay away from this place they will tax you and not even do proper maintenance. Trash ass place especially Pedro! Dude is rude and demeaning! Don't try to talk over me when I'm asking questions about how ima service MY car. Pedro even admitted a service tech from Evan's tire went beyond the bare minimum& helped me more than what Pep Boys would do when I was explaining my issue. Yes I was mad&annoyed to get the run around, but understand where I'm coming from. How was I suppose to know I was to ask for specific questions and details pertaining to the services I need done. Only saving grace from my review was Alondra&Darnel who were the original people who helped me. Last time I am ever going there! I called on Monday to make an appointment for some time this week. They were able to fit me in Tuesday for a high mileage oil change, tire rotation and possibly a new drain plug. The guy at the front desk was very accommodating and let me know they were slightly backed up but would be done with my car in ninety minutes or less. The whole thing ended up taking two hours which wasn't a big deal to me but the technician and the front counter associate apologized for it taking longer then expected. They even competed my entire transaction. Such amazing customer service. I will for sure be back to this location. read more

Pep Boys, Jamacha Blvd, in Spring Valley. Very poor customer service. Ordered 4 tires on clearance sale, which never came. When a call was made to check on order status, the Store Manager was condescending and rude implying that "you get what you deserve" when you order cheap tires. After several weeks, confirmation notice that the tires were not coming. No surprise that Discount Tires, Costco etc are in a separate upper class of tire stores. read more

I just called and I said I have a 92 Jeep Wrangler with broken door latches. I asked how much to fix them, how much for the parts and labor. He said he would have to charge me for an electrical diagnostic. I went on to educate him that this vehicle has no electrical in the doors. The doors come off there are no power windows power locks. He went on to say that he would still have to charge me for electrical diagnostic when there is no electrical whatsoever in the doors. seriously is he just trying to pocket the money or what. read more

I only marked 1 star cuz I couldn't do negative stars. I had a diagnostic scan ran on my truck when the check engine light came on and 6 codes showed up. I then took my truck to PepBoys to be repaired and the same 6 codes came up on the diagnostic scan they ran. They quoted me $2,034 for the repairs & called me later that day and said they quoted me for the wrong part and it would be a $800 difference for the right part my new total would be $2432. I asked if that Would fix all the codes that came up, specifically asking about the p0305 code since I had that repaired by them about a year ago. They said yes and assured me that my truck would be running like new. I paid for it and it was fixed the next day. When I picked it up the mechanic came in with a OEM part and showed me, stating that it was the main reason for my engine problems. He told me they replaced it with a metal one and that my engine would be running like brand new again. I live less then to 2 miles away for PepBoys. my check engine light came back on before I got home. I immediately called and informed them. Returned it Asap & they scanned it and I was told it was a p0305 code. (1 of the codes that they told me was already repaired.) The manager told me It wasn't serious and that I can still drive it but it would be better to bring it in sooner then later. I had to go to work but as I drove away it began to over heat, less then 2 blocks away so I turned around and left it with them to be fixed. Now they want to charge me $5400 to repair it, that's on top of the $2400 I already paid. F@?K PepBoys @ 8888 Jamacha, 91977. This place is a ripoff. There only defense is that the codes were all clear when I picked it up. (There is an option to clear codes when you run a diagnostics test. That's how you check to see if the problem reoccurs after it's been fixed.) read more

I am a long time customer here in Spring Valley location. I scheduled an appointment earlier today for 1200 to fix a very simple tire issue. At 1135 I received a voicemail from their employee in the counter (caucasian, bald) telling me that they cannot service it. I was waiting for their manager, Harold to speak with but apparently he was conveniently taking lunch. I was getting a bit frustrated by the way I was being taken care of by their employees. Salvador then came in the show room asked me if I have been helped. I just told him that i just wanted to find out if the tire is repairable since in my head this store is straight garbage for having no customer service on a simple fix and there was a bit of hope when Salvador said he can fix it. Still no sign of Harold. When I went inside, Harold was finally there. I told him Salvador will look into it to which he replied "no, he knows there are a lot of cars to work on today". This was probably one of the worst experiences I have had with Pepboys and will definitely never return. Harold can huff and puff inside that little store of his, I really hope the store will keep on losing customers since the other guy left and you all are left with Mr. tough guy HAROLD. read more

Worthless place for car service. We had gone in to change the brake pads and had to keep coming back because they screwed the pooch and needed to keep fixing it. Ultimately ruined the rotor and costing us hundreds of dollars more. Meh, for those who need a quickie oil change or whatever, but those are my two cents. I got a new car last year and my old car has been parked ever since. I needed to renew my registration for the old car, which meant getting a smog check. However, the battery is dead/bad and would need to be replaced first, which meant I would need a tow (I watched YouTube and decided I couldn't do it myself). As you can see, this was becoming a whole production.  I admit, I don't know anything about cars and my husband was busy with work so I knew I had to handle this on my own. I did a little research beforehand to see approximate costs for tow, battery & battery replacement, oil change, etc.  Since PepBoys seemed to be a one-stop shop (including tow), I decided to go that route even if I could have saved a couple bucks elsewhere. I chatted online with a PepBoys representative and she was quite helpful. At the end of our conversation, I had a good idea of what I had to do and how much it was going to cost me so I scheduled an appointment.  A couple days later, it was time to call the Pep tow. I even took the day off for this. My husband kept warning me not to allow them to upsell me anything because they might try to take advantage of me. I was a little worried but was hoping and praying all would go smoothly because it had to get done.  The tow arrived quickly (before I even had a chance to arrive at the location of the car). I didn't want him to wait so we met up at the PepBoys on Jamacha instead. I spoke with Matt at the front desk. He started talking about the different oils for the oil changes and I was just waiting for him to try to sell me something that I really didn't need but, to my surprise, he didn't. He checked me in and told me it would take maybe an hour to an hour and a half to complete.  I did some work on my laptop as I waited in the little waiting area. To be honest, time flew and I didn't even realize I had been there longer than he had quoted me.  When I went up to the counter to pay, Matt explained what they had completed and he even compensated me for the long wait time! I was grateful for that, but I didn't mind the wait because I knew there were other customers and delays happen, plus I was in no big rush. I wanted to tip, but he wouldn't accept a tip either! He didn't even try to sell me anything additional! He even explained how my car's system had reset and how I would have to drive the car around a little before attempting a smog check (which I had actually read about online prior). Since I no longer drive this car, I asked him if there was anything they could do to speed up this process, which there was... but he did not recommend that I pay them a few hundred dollars just to have one of his guys drive my car around town for me (I can't say that I didn't consider it for a second though. LOL). As someone who legitimately does not know much about cars, I was expecting to be greeted by a pushy salesperson, which has happened in the past. I was already expecting to have to call my husband for backup, but I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to here. Matt was extremely helpful and honest and I highly recommend this place for their good work and for their integrity. My family and I have been coming here for years. I've never once had a problem until I dealt with Harold these past couple days. I called to schedule an appointment for service on my vehicle. Over the phone he was very condescending and rude. He lacks customer service and the way he communicate with customer made me feel uncomfortable. My information is in the system and I had purchased a package that comes with oil change, wheel alignment, and tire rotation. I informed him that and he told me that pep boy doesn't offer any package like that. In my response I told him I had vouchers/book to prove it and he said we'll see if it works. After our phone conversation I told myself sometimes things can't get misconstrued and that I shouldn't think much of it. Nope! He was the same way when I seen him in person. I showed up to my appointment 15 minutes early and he told me that his technician won't be in for another 45 minutes. And that the entire wait would be a few hours. I had to pick up my daughter from school so I told him I set up this appointment thinking it wouldn't take longer than 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Then he corrected me and said yea that's what I said. A couple hours. When he CLEARLY said a few hours. His demeanor and tone was rude. So I left for another pep boy. I went home and told my brother in law about everything that occurred and he told me this same guy has given him fits in the past as well. Terrible service. Told the guy at the front that I all I wanted was an oil change. Sat here for an hour while they had my truck in the back. Never sat here waiting so long for an oil change ANYWHERE ELSE. Then come to find out they were about to rotate my tires. Like what are these people doing?!? I made an appointment, go here early. Second time bringing my Jeep here and very disappointed and irritated both times. this last time I brought my Jeep I called before scheduling and specifically asked if they could replace my front wheel SPEED SENSOR and was told they could do it when I arrived at the appointment I got told I had to pay for an abs diagnostic which was 20 dollars and was confused bc it's just a wheel SPEED Sensor but when along with it I received a call after about 2 1/2 hours for them to tell me i need tire pressure sensors. again I didn't understand why it was so confusing bc I specified that I needed WHEEL SPEED SENSORS multiple times . Then they told me to do that I would have to pay $100 for a diagnostic to tell me something I already know. I just payed the $20 and got my Jeep i will never go back. So moral of the story is don't waste your time with them they have no clue what they are talking about even for the most simple of work. read more

I don't recommend going here. Went here on my day, didn't schedule an appointment due to my hectic work schedule. Brought my truck in for an alignment around 8-9am. Left the keys. Called at 5:30pm to check up on it. They close at 7pm by the way. They said they had a fleet customer on the rack and mine would be the next one up. Was so upset I told them I'd take my keys and get an alignment elsewhere. Last time I checked it doesn't take 10hrs to do an alignment. read more

Update from my previous review: brought my car to the dealership to get my brake check for the crappy job these people perform in my car only to find out from my dealership that the shingles are missing and they put a cheap break pads and they put it upside down that is the reason it keeps on squeaking. Do this people even know what they're doing? It makes me wonder whats the qualifications to be a pepboys mechanic this is so disappointing. I highly encourage everyone to not waste your time coming to this shop if you don't want to spend more than you have plus the bad service and bad attitude of the manager here not worth it -0 stars for me if it's possible! I brought my car here because it was in my list of companies that I could use with my warranty. After diagnosis and repair of my vehicle everything seemed ok. Then I needed something else diagnosed and again came here through my warranty company. Dropped my car off with Harold. After having my car all day they had not even moved it from the original spot. When asked what was going on Harold and his bad attitude and lack of customer service caused me to take my car and leave. So then I realized today that the original work that was done on my car is having the same issue. I call to see if the work or parts were guaranteed and what do you know, Harold answered and was again rude and gave me no answers as if they could guarantee the work that they did just a month ago. I can not give this business a high enough rating...5 just isn't enough. I took my daughters car in to have the alternator replaced. They discovered that the car had a manufacturer recall on the alternator. They did not have to tell me that. They could have replaced it and charged me over $400 but they didn't. They recommended that I take it to the dealership for a free repair. I am so thankful to them for their honesty and integrity. First impression was horrible customer service. It's taking them over 5 hours to do an oil change. Told me it would be done at 6:15-6:30. I called at 7, the guy told me they are just finishing and to come in 15 mins. It is now 7:30 and I am still here waiting for my car. I walk up to the office no one come to greet me or ask if I need help. I have to yell "excuse me" over them cleaning to even get someone's attention. I'm sorry your busy but don't tell me it's almost done and I come and you are still working on it. It also doesn't hurt to greet your paying customers. After leaving this review I spoke to one of the mangers I think. He name was Matt. After talking to Matt and voicing my frustration. He went out of his way to apologize even discounted my oil change to show he really was sorry. He called me today to apologize again. That showed me they do care about there customers.
