I had a very disappointing experience at Valvoline. During my oil change, my vehicle was significantly overfilled with oil. As soon as I started the engine, the car was shaking and smoke was coming from the exhaust. The staff drained and refilled the oil, but the problem did not improve. Assistant Manager Ana told me to drive the vehicle and that the smoke would go away. I was not comfortable doing so given the condition of the car. Manager Efrain never came outside to speak with me about the situation despite my concerns. The vehicle ultimately had to be towed to the dealership for diagnosis and repairs. I have since filed a claim with Valvoline and am awaiting resolution. This experience was frustrating and left me without a reliable vehicle. read more

While I'm not confident that I was overcharged for the services I got, the convenience and politeness of the attendants was worth it. There was a degree of upselling but not pushy. I was leaving early the next morning for a road trip and had put off an oil change until the night before - so glad they were open late. I especially appreciated that they would ask if it was okay every time they needed to reach inside the car to reset or open anything. I am not giving any stars. Had my oil changed by them then went to Mazda the next time. Mazda discovered my slip plate was gone. They told me it was missing because Valvoline either didn't replace it or they didn't put it back properly. When I put in a claim with Valvoline, they refused to replace it. Service was fast and they were so polite. They asked my permission to open the door and to put their oil reminder sticker on my windshield. They apologized for the delay (there was no delay) but explained that the skid plate was on tight so it took awhile to take off (it was still so much shorter than the dealership). I was even able to use my AARP for a 15% off discount (you do not need to be a senior for AARP). From start to finish was less than a half hour. They also informed me that my battery should be replaced soon. They offered to sell one to me, I declined. They informed me that I could contact the dealership that I purchased from and it might be covered under warranty or they may pro-rate me for thr battery. Went above and beyond. read more

Needed a quick check up on my car before an unexpected road trip. I called to see if they were open and if they had the oil for my car (BMW). The Sweetwater location did so I went there. First, Cesar was very nice, very courteous. Listened to my questions and was able to address them. David took care of my car and did a great job. He also listened to my questions and took care of everything that I asked about. I even had a $15 off coupon which was great. I wasn't sure what the pricing would be like because there isn't any on their website, but I wasn't disappointed or shocked. Literally sitting in the bay waiting for my car to even get started being serviced. About 4 cars have already went by in the other bay and I'm going on almost an hour. 15 minutes my ass. I come here when I don't have time to go to other places that take long but coming here and having to wait why am I paying extra again? Wound up taking 2.5 hours. I went into Valvoline with high expectations even knowing they might have not dealt with my car due to having an aftermarket oil drain plug. I waited for a few minutes while they figured out some issues with one of their bays and that wasnt a problem at all. They discussed my car a little further and said they would be able to suction the oil from the top of the engine instead of doing anything with the plug which was perfectly fine with me. I then remembered i had a Groupon for a synthetic blend that I previously purchased and never got to use. So i told the female employee that I had my voucher from Groupon that I wanted to use and she obliged to what was asked. Then she went on some search that took like 5-10 minutes and she didnt even explain as to what she was searching or looking up and that made me feel very uncomfortable and not welcome. I then saw the screen and it kept saying 'Premium Conventional oil' and i responded that it was for a synthetic or synthetic blend and the female employee told me that it was for a synthetic blend which we both looked at the Groupon voucher and agreed. I then see that she hasnt changed what is on the screen and that the employee doing the actual oil change looks at the screen twice with the same 'Premium Conventional Oil' and notice she doesnt tell him anything about changing the oil and then says, 'its fine, keep going.' So even though i told the employee that it says a different oil change on the screen and was told multiple times that it was never changed. She then proceeds to change the oil on the screen to 'MaxLife' even though that was not the oil that was used so that was scam for the Groupon voucher I had to not use a better oil. Then without warning the female employee sticks her hand inside my vehicle to remove the previously old sticker and replaced it with a new one without even asking if I wanted to do it myself. Lastly i asked if the tire pressure was checked because I believe at least one tire was low on air but I was completely ignored and had to ask the employee guiding me out if the tire pressure was actually checked. I 10/10 do not recommend this Valvoline for their customer service especially the female employee who at times made it very uncomfortable being there.
