Been going here for a couple years and these last 3 visits prior to this one recently were not so good experiences for similar reasons however Shevon provided me a solution one of those three times he provided a solution when no one else could. Today I went there again and I was happy to see he was there as I was skeptical of even coming back to this location again. He remembered me prior and knew what my history was. I set my expectations as to what I needed and sure enough he told me he would take care of me and for the first time in a while, I actually believed it. Sure enough everything was done the way I requested and what I needed which couldn't be done before properly he was able to do. Keep in mind this was at 3pm on a Friday evening. I didn't expect to get my car back the same day but sure enough he delivered and went above my expectations. I was truly sceptical about having my tires replaced from here after reading the previous reviews. The price was good and Jose behind the counter seemed pretty cool so I made the appt. and the tires were ordered. I went in the next day on time for appt but they were backed up so I came back a bit later and they were ready and waiting. Service was very good and I was out in the 90 minutes that was quoted. Bad and dishonest service. I was told that my tire can not be fixed because the nail penetrate tire(Miguel at the front desk pine island location) and I need 2 new tires. This was at around 8 am. I agree, but when I went to check on my car 4 hours after nothing was done. I decided to go to another place. I took it to my honest mechanic, was a very small nail that did not penetrate the tire, he just pulled out. The condition of the tired was fine. read more

I had an appointment for 10 am today for a simple oil change. After 3 hours of waiting they still have not started working on my car. This is outrageous! Why would anyone choose this place over the dealership? After all of this, the price for an oil change is not cheap here! An appointment here clearly means nothing and I would have had better luck changing the oil myself. The front desk always appears to be more interested in there own side work and act surprised when you ask them for an update. My car has been having issues since I brought my car in, one after the next. My car worked perfectly fine before, only needed a tire change. Of course when I brought my tire there to get it changed, they told me there was another issue even after I told them do not look at anything else, just change the tire. I DO NOT recommend this place. I think one of their tactics is to tell you your car will take hours because the average person will leave and come back. Once you leave, it gives them a chance to mess around with everything else and create or "find" issues with your car. After specifically stating that I only wanted 2 tires changed and nothing else, PERIOD (I've had issues with this location purposely damaging ignition coils), the mechanic still popped my hood open and started poking around. I then had to tell the manager *again* to have him stop and only change 2 tires as directed. The manager kept insisting, saying that it was a complimentary service (funny how there's nothing in writing about this). Even funnier was how he told me to go for a walk or go home to kill time, but there's NO way on earth I'm taking my eyes off my car. I finally had to tell him a 3rd time to have the mechanic shut my hood. Sketchy? Indeed. As I waited, I knew there was going to be some kind of "problem" that would come up - there always is. The mechanic tells me that he's unable to take my lug nuts off one of the tires without damaging them, and that I'd have to [over]pay for 5 new ones along with labor. This was a lie, as I know for a fact that they were installed using just a manual lug wrench. Also, it's highly unlikely for ALL 5 of my lug nuts to be stuck like that. I told the mechanic and manager to put the one tire in my trunk and I'd go elsewhere...and so I did. Extreme Tires in Davie was able to change it without a problem at all, and for HALF THE PRICE! Also, Pep Boys sneakily charges tax on their labor...nice. So when they say it's $25 per tire change, well, it really comes out to $30. Moving forward, I'll absolutely REFUSE to go to another Pep Boys again. I'm incredibly disgusted by the company and its employees. I've been warning all my friends and family about these crooks. I'm checking in and ask how long before my car gets serviced, this man says 3hrs. I ask if I can come back in 3 hours, he says "I don't hold spots for nobody". So I ask, you expect me to wait here for 3 hours when I have an 11am appointment. He says "you can leave the vehicle and Uber home". I ask, you paying for the Uber, he says no, you have to pay for your Uber there and back. So let me get this straight, after waiting the previous day to schedule the appointment you still expect me to wait 3 hrs before my vehicle can even be serviced? All I came for was a tire rotation. AVOID THIS SHITHOLE. This place is inefficient and will give you the run around for everything. Came in at 8:30am to drop off a single tire put on a rim. I called back in at 11:30am and the single tire had not been mounted. Mind you, I bought 4 tires and installation. I needed to bring it back home and put it on my car to get my car back to the shop for the other 3 tires. (I was already on a spare when my other tire got a nail in it). Long story short, I blow up the flat tire and race up the shop at noon so they have my car. They close at 6. It's 5:30 and no call. So I drive up to the shop to see my car moved and not a single new tire mounted. First thing I get is "oh we were just calling you" how convenient, at 5:35 when I'm now walking your door. When I dropped my keys off, I was GUARANTEED by issac asst service manager it would be done BY EOB. When I came back at 5:30, They advised, that the rim I brought originally did not match (that's fair- my mistake) but how do two associates pick it up ask me my make and model down to the tee and not realize it doesn't match? They even made me use my cellphone flash light to check the size of the rim. Are these automotive professionals? Or wage collectors? EVEN SO I BOUGHT 4 TIRES! Common sense would say mount the other 3, keep spear on and advise the customer at pickup of the individual rim issue so the customer isn't now driving home on a flat. Even so, does it take an entire day to realize that mistake? If I was advised at a decent time in the day I could have made the corrections. But y'all already got your $550 so fuck me right? I can wait. I'll just have to take another day off work to go to another mechanic who, hopefully, understands how to run a business. This is not to mention the last oil change I got, the associates broke the dipstick, held onto my car the entire day to "wait on the part to replace", 6pm comes and no dipstick therefore I'm left riding out of this place with oil I just bought splashing out of my engine. But shame on me for even trying this place again. and the SERVICE MANAGER, Justin, now doesn't even know how to give me a refund. He's now FaceTiming one of his employees to show him how to do it. THIS IS YOUR SERVICE MANAGER!!!??? He doesn't know how to refund my money. He gives me the excuse "issac zeroed out a lot of the charges for you that he shouldn't have so the system is giving me an issue refunding" MIND YOU, he was the one who told issac to partially charge me as he "left to get breakfast". Kind advise: Avoid this PEP BOYS location at any cost. After ordering tire and getting email confirmation date and time for tire installation there was NO tire at the shop. The guy claimed it's not arrived yet and he will give me a call when the tire is at the shop. (Why do you send email confirmation?) Called them the next day - NO tire. After several days waiting and not hearing from them called PEP BOYS 800 number and the lady said that Confirmation doesn't mean that tire is there. (It reminds me Jerry Seinfeld show episode regarding car reservations at the airport). After several phone calls finally got thru with this shop and they said the tire is there. All right, all right... not that fast. After tire installation the technician lowered car from the jack and started to poke around under the hood and after about 20 minutes he asked me to come and take a look at removed radiator pressure cap housing elbow, claiming that the plastic pipe fell off from the radiator when he opened the cap for "complimentary inspection" (which I didn't ask for in a first place, just install one tire, please). At the same time I noticed that there is a pond of liquid under my car and by looking at the mess he created I saw that he managed to disconnect the top hoses already. Another guy (looked like a manager) showed up stating that my car needs a new radiator installed, otherwise it's un-drivable and the shop cannot release it due to "it's unsafe due to radiator fluid leaking". To my question "why it was not leaking before (they worked on the car lifted, and you cannot stay in work zone) and why they didn't ask me prior to dismantling anything?" he has nothing to say and just kept repeating that "the part just fell off". The next moment quote for a new radiator (400+) and installation was ready (about 700 USD total). Nice try... Who will trust them installing a new radiator in your car after they are not able to open radiator cap without damage??? Unbelievable... I thought this company is good for tires at least, but when they are trying to take you for a ride for your own money (they charge 30+ to install tire purchased from them), sorry, good luck with that. Went in for an oil change, it took 3 and a half hours to get to my vehicle. There was an older lady that had been waiting there an hour before me, just to have her tires checked. I had to leave to be somewhere and asked if they could hurry the process up. They ended up doing the oil change on my car before the woman waiting before me. My car is now having electrical issues and the battery has died multiple. How are you guys still in business, this is an absolute disgrace to the automotive industry, customer service and being a human in general. This shop needs to be shut down permanently for negligence. The manager Justin a very rude thief. Took my car in for a simple oil change made appointment online. I get to shop before they open first one in line leave my car no call all day. Asked more or less what time car ready he's says he didn't know. I call he tells me he has no idea when my car will be ready. I'm waiting for my car all day nearby. I go back to shop 4:30 my car was not ever seen. He left my car for last and then when huh puts it up he says can't do oil change because I have to have it inspected and do some job that will most likely cost 1500 dollars. So my car is there from 10 am when they opened till 5 pm and nothing done and refuses to do oil change till I spend more on an inspection. This manager has 0 character rude obnoxious and ignorant. He needs to be fired. Karma. Took my car to a different mechanic for the oil change the tech mentioned that I don't new to spend money unless I see a leak. Bottom line the pep boys experience was horrible never again and had problems there before with my brakes as well after rout in brand new brakes they failed almost got into a major accident. My husband just got back from a 9 a.m. oil change appointment that never happened. He had called Friday and made the appointment for this morning. He got there at 9 a.m. this morning and no one was there. Store was not open and 3 or 4 people waiting for the store to open. One couple was there to drop off their car, and they left. Another guy was there because he was there the night before and spend $1400 on his AC and it still didn't work. One guy came on his bike and he wasn't supposed to be working today and he was there to work. Around 9:25 a.m. someone did open the store but said nothing could be done because technicians weren't in yet. My husband's question: if you're not open at 9 a.m., why do you make appointments you can't keep? Time is money, and time wasted means no repeat business. read more

I had quoted a price for a simple plug the night before , but decided to come back in am , the price was $13.99 , the next day I spoke with someone else and was told it would be $20 and I would have to wait for service , so I did. While I'm waiting I noticed another customer come in with the same issue. The other person at the counter inspected the vehicle right away and put them right through to get their issue resolved. This is work done at pep boys located on 4397 n pine island road sunrise fl. I took my wife's vehicle in on Tuesday for a routine oil change and a simple brake job on a 2017 Chevy suburban and after picking it up it sat in our drive way till yesterday that she had to go to work. As she was leaving work late night around midnight she had no brakes and ran a red light at an intersection because she couldn't stop just missing cars and rescue trucks going into the hospital where she works at in which it could have cost her her life and a major accident. I would highly recommend that people do not use this location as their work is super unprofessional and after taking it back to them they corrected the problem which was clearly their mistake all they did was offer a free oil change for faulty brake job that could have cost someone's life or my wife's life read more

I had my car repaired at this Pep Boys. (4397 N Pine Island Road). I used this shop frequently before it became a Pep Boys because of the proximity to my house and I was always satisfied there. However, after one visit to this car shop that is no longer the case. Not only did my repair take several days because they misdiagnosed the problem, but I had to return my car only two weeks later because the AC had gone out again. I had my car in the shop for an entire day again today and they still don't have a solution to my problem. The people at the shop obviously did not run checks on my car to diagnose the problem. I was able to tell them it was an electrical issue with the fan not getting power to turn on, but at the end of the day they blamed my AC not working on a button on the dash (obviously not the reason the entire fan system stops working). While working on the car today they switched a couple of interior dash lights on my car. They said they did this to check the AC (at no point was I called or given an estimate or anything of the sort). Now I am told that one of the two lights that they switched no longer works. I would assume that when you go into a car to test something you are responsible not to break that part, but apparently that is not the case. The light now does not work, and the shop told me that it was my fault because it was not working before it came in. Now not only did they not fix the AC they also broke one of the dash lights. I explained that the light should be ordered and replaced, but apparently it is a specialty part that has to be ordered. Only after an hour on the phone was I able to confirm they had to order the part. First the part didn't exist, then I was told I should know in advance the light didn't work because I had extra parts for the light in my car, then I was told it was special order and the manager needed to order it. I simply wanted to get assurance that they would fix the part they broke (a simple light). I left today with my car without assurance that the part would be ordered or even what the part was. When I asked for the part number, or a detailed statement about what they performed on my car they had nothing there. They could not even tell me a part number for the light. Needless to say this is the last time I will use that store. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, the headaches today mean that I will gladly drive a little further to get my car repaired in the future. read more

I had been to this Pep Boys a few times, once to get my oil changed, another to get my rotors, wheels, brakes, replaced my alignment done etc. I spent a lot of money here. They were always rude, I got used to it, they never showed they really cared about the customer i got used to it. But today these people tried to tell me I had an OIL LEAK and wouldn't be able to do the oil change, and couldn't even show me where it was, they had the mechanic try to shine a light on the "leak" and there was nothing dripping anywhere, there wan't a leak there never was ever a puddle, or dripping of oil EVER in my car; it just never has happened. They were going to give me a piece of paper that showed me the "supposed" prices for fixing the "leak" and more. I took my truck to a Express Lube in Commercial, they never saw any leak, changed my oil and that was the end of it. I paid they even topped off the steering fluid and hooked me up with a good price. Unlike pep boys, Not to mention everyone at the front desk at pep boys seems to be super rude they won't take your car if it isnt before 12PM even for a 10 minute oil change and couldn't care less about you or your car. I went into this store a few months back to grab a bottle of fuel system cleaner and I was at the counter waiting to be ringed up but the woman decided to take a phone call and completely ignore me, even though she could have kept her attention to whoever was on the phone with and still ring me up at the same time which would've been rude she just stayed talking on the phone. I was extremely patient and waited 7-10min in disbelief. I finally had enough and asked if she can just ring me up so I can go and all she did was stare at me w a blank w an I don't care look and continued her conversation so I left the merchandise at the register, told her she can put it back on the shelf and left. She must be married to the owner who opened that small Pepe boys franchise location because she was extremely rude and could care less about her job. I had some trepidation about this becoming a corporate entity, but much of the staff remained and Jose, the new manager, is excellent in customer service and professionalism. I have taken several of my cars here since the changeover and have had only good experiences. I will continue to entrust them with my collection. read more
