I have been seeing Esther for 6ish years now, found her via instagram (@estherachapman). Found her for her blonde work. And 10/10. I feel like we do a great job communicating (because sometimes hair stylists will say something like Brassy and I don't exactly know what they mean but she's so easy to talk to and chill). I've never been unhappy with what she's done. She makes it so easy to make appointments, asks for a courtesy on last minute cancellations (respect her time - I get it), and her prices are Bay Area pricing but like I said I'm never unhappy so I'll pay it gladly (I've paid the same price or more to be unhappy). I've seen her vivid bright color work (not my thing but) it's gorgeous. She's done all over blonde, balayage, highlights, low lights, different hair cuts/ styles. Very happy I found her and as I move around the bay, I still drive out of my way to go to her because she's so reliable and easy going. Oh and she's always on time, so I feel she respects my time and in turn I very much respect her time. She texts so you can plan out the session in advance if need be too. Also their salon is a very cool chill vibe, aesthetically and people wise. They have their own parking lot so even though it's in a very nice downtown location parking is not an issue. I wish I could find some good pictures but I'm not much of a selfie person and don't take pictures of back of hair to show the beauty that is her work (sorry Esther lol). She made it really easy to make and request an appointment through the Varago app. She listens to my concerns about my hair and gave me a good trim, and the color turned out how I expected. I've been going to Savannah Margeruite for about 2.5 years. I only just made a Yelp account, but I should have done it earlier! I always love how my cuts and color come out. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my hair in the last two and half years as well. I always walk away feeling refreshed after an appointment. I have fairly long hair and prefer to keep it that way, but I play around with the style of my bangs. Savannah is always really supportive of different ideas on how to do something fun with my hair without losing the overall length. And I've never had a bad hair color experience with her. And I get a LOT of compliments out in public about it the color! Where do I start??? I've been Jill's client for the past five years and the past 5 years have been amazing. I was so thrilled when she opened her own salon. The salon is decorated very posh. It's upscale and girlie but not too girlie. I have a penchant for chandeliers and mirrors and this space just delights me. The salon is always well stocked with beverages, snacks, and the latest magazines. Hip music is usually playing in the background. Jill is a pro. She is well trained and a true professional. I get tons of compliments on my cut and color frequently. I love turning the reins over to Jill because she always makes me look and feel beautiful. The salon uses Hairstory and Unite products. I've been cutting my own hair for over a decade now because I am super picky about my hair, and I'm also just not much of a talker (thanks social anxiety). However! I've somehow found myself coming back to Hart Hair a crazy total of 8?! times in just the past year. Esther is an absolute angel who tolerates my constant mood changes that translate into chopping 15" of hair off, going from virgin black hair to silver and then purple.. And then back to black again a few months later (even when the residual purple wasn't out of my hair yet - please don't be me), and just overall upkeep of whatever style I feel like at the time. I'm always happy leaving Esther's chair, and my hair always feels so soft and healthy even when it was bleached to silver and brought back to black. She is super easy-going and sweet, and respects that I'm an awkward turtle that likes to bury my face in books during my hair appointments. read more

Jill is a magician! She fixed my hair like no other stylist before. My hair was dull and damaged from previous hair colors. I get my roots done every 5 weeks to cover my white hairs. She used Nectaya for my color since I'm allergic to traditional hair dyes, they make my scalp itch for several days. Nectaya is ammonia free and makes my hair glossy and smooth. Nobody ever gave me a healthier option. The color is so amazing!!! Jill has really fixed my hair, I get compliments all the time from everyone. I refer everyone to Jill at Hart salon. I have terrible hair anxiety from past experiences of people chopping my hair off when I had only asked for an inch or two. Esther made me feel comfortable and relaxed immediately and understood when I communicated this anxiety with her. She helped me to feel relaxed and continued conversation with me to distract me. When it did come time to trim, she only did a very light dusting, to where I could feel the difference in the health of my ends but not see the difference in the length (which is perfect for me). After the haircut, she asked how I would like it styled, explaining all the options she could do clearly. When I asked about what shampoo and conditioner to use, she answered her reasons, while also keeping in mind that not everyone would be able to regularly afford a professional grade product, but also giving a reason why it would be better for my hair, not pressuring me in any way. She gave a timeline of when I should return based on my hair goals, and I can say I will be returning to see her. read more

She consistently does a great job and truly listens to what I ask for. I have thick, curly hair, which can be difficult to cut.
