I brought my wedding gown here after searching for good reviews on Yelp and several other sites. I had a bad experience at another reputable cleaners who lost a ton of beading off my dress after I took it in to clean after my bridal portraits. I was really hesitant to bring it to Pepper Square but I found a glowing review from another customer who had her dress cleaned. I brought my dress and the man working was pretty pleasant and looked at my dress and told me how much it would cost, which was reasonable. I was told I could pick it up in a week, which was great because apparently the waiting period at several other cleaners were almost 2-3 months long. I even got a letter in the mail at my house thanking me for choosing Pepper Square which was a nice touch. The pickup date rolls around, and I called to make sure my dress was ready. It was, excellent...I went during lunch.....and that is where the good ends. I open the bag (still at the cleaners) to inspect my dress. It looks really clean; there was a lot of dirt caked in from walking around outside in it. And then I notice a button missing from the back. A button I knew was there when I took it in because both my mom and I did a thorough inspection to make sure there wasn't anything loose (hello! bad experience from the first cleaners who almost ruined my dress!). My dress is a designer dress and the beading and buttons are REALLY hard to find. I can't just go to JoAnns and find a replacement. I point this out to the workers and he had the nerve to tell me it was like that when I brought it in. NO IT WAS NOT SIR. You stood there and inspected the dress yourself when I brought it in. Pretty much calling me a liar. And then he asked me if I had a replacement. WHY would I have a replacement?!?! I am visibly upset, but continue to inspect the dress. There are SNAGS in the satin EVERYWHERE. Granted, there were snags on the hem on stuff from before, but not in the bodice and chest area. It looks pretty much RUINED. I don't even bother saying anything because if they took that approach about the button, what are they going to say about the rest of the dress? I am SO upset. DO NOT BRING YOUR EXPENSIVE ITEMS THERE. So much for the guarantee on customer service. read more

No regard for customer safety - Started using Pepper Square cleaners since we moved to this area of Dallas 2 1/2 years ago. Never had a problem. Owner and his staff had always been great and welcoming. Then Covid hit and masks are now required but not at Pepper Square cleaners. When I would go in I would ask the employee at the front counter to put on a mask and they would, but today was an unfortunate experience with the owner. He usually is in the back and out of sight, but today he was at the front counter not wearing a mask. When I asked if would please wear one he refused. I told him I really didn't want to change cleaners and that I liked him and his employees, but I don't feel comfortable coming in and no one is wearing a mask. He did not do a thing to try to keep my business. Instead he said they will miss my business and goodby. It's very disappointing as they did good work, but if they don't give a damn about their customers then it's time to move on. Enter this place at your own risk! read more

I took three shirts to try out Pepper Square cleaners recently. I was asked what the cost was to launder a shirt. I was told it was $2.80. When I picked up three shirts the total price was $21.72. I was quite surprised. I was told that the shirts need to be dry cleaned to prevent breaking buttons. I have had shirts laundered at many cleaners in the past without buttons being broken.Also one of the shirts had an ink stain on the shirt pocket. This ink stain was not even removed. I would be very careful using this business. I will never return. read more

Don't know if it just happens with us, but it's not a one time thing. My husband takes his shirts in to be laundered and at least one shirt, sometimes more, gets dry cleaned at the higher price. This time it was a machine wash golf shirt - no decals, or anything special on it - yet it was dry cleaned - at least that's what we were charged for. I have spoken to the management numerous times that when we bring in anything to be dry cleaned, we will make note of it. Otherwise, everything is to be laundered - yet this keeps happening. When I take the clothing back to be reimbursed, which they do, I get the same story over and over - a new person, or a mistake, they'll note that everything is to be laundered - yet it keeps happening. read more

I'm always out and about, and it is so convenient to know while I'm in the area that my clothes can be picked up in advance of the promised time! I also love that we have our own recycled dry cleaner bag to put our clothes in, so when we drop off, we don't even have to wait for an order slip. I just went to pick up 2 pieces of cloth that were ment to be for a change of zipper. The first day I tried to pick them up they dry cleaned them instead. Today they charged me 45.05 for the zippers exchange. Not only it was too much, but they didn't change one of the zippers they only fixed the old one. read more

This place is unbelievable. I went there once and was overcharged. They lady at the front said I wasn't specific in what I wanted so I understood. So she gave me the full press what ever the most expensive option was. Then she asked me if I would like to keep my buttons. I said yes, so she said this option costs more. I don't know what happened to this place - I've been taking my cleaning to them for a bit, great service and excellent results. The last three times I've taken my cleaning there my shirts have been unwearable after getting them back - huge creases pressed into the collars and shoulders, which take forever to get out with an iron. This last time two of my shirts came back in the bundle appearing to not even have been pressed - they look like they just put them on the hanger right after I dropped them off - the rest of the shirts have bizarre creases hard pressed into them - disappointing , won't be back and can't recommend to others. read more

With my experience with drycleaners, you pay for what you get. I dropped off my expensive leather jacket that got baby puke on it when we were out with some friends. I thought for sure it was a lost cause because I waited almost two weeks to get it to the cleaners ( yes I forgot) but somehow they got it looking even better than what it was before the accident.
