You hop in the queue, read the menu for what you want, and read some of the history about Sioux Falls on the photographs they have hanging all over the walls. I usually get the Classic Steak Philly without mushrooms. I've tried the Fireball (jalapeno juice) once, my taste buds thanked me, but the porcelain did not. A side order of their Philly seasoned fries is a must. They grill the food right in front of you as you order. I frequent here about once a month, I follow them on Facebook and they usually have a a BoGo special once a month. Their soda fountain is average, but if you're a good mixer like me you can experience new flavor combinations. Had lunch here, right when I walked I knew this place was pretty good. The line was out the door. I ordered a steak phillie and made it a gunner, double the meat. My double meat option I chose was shrimp. Which was awesome and huge! Steak, shrimp, onions, peppers, jalapeno's and I chose the Fireball option as well. I gave Pepper Jax Grill a shot on a whim and was not dissapointed. My wife and I wanted to try something new for lunch and decided to give this a shot. We both got the cheesesteak and fries with a drink. The staff was a lot of fun and the ambience of the restaurant added to the fun atmosphere. This is a great little place for lunch. If you want a little extra kick, add the fireball. After your first visit you will want to keep coming back for more! read more

Delicious food, kind and courteous staff, special ordered food they were happy to do it.

I used to love coming here for food and great service. Now, the rice isnt fully cooked and the service is terrible. They opened at 11:00am but didn't actually open the store until about 5 minutes after. Then they didnt start serving their full line of guests until about 11:20am because nothing was ready. Grill was off, fryer was off, toppings weren't all out yet. While checking out, two employees were laughing at another guest behind his back because he ordered all toppings and complained that his burrito was cold. Employees do not know how to serve their guests and don't seem to know how to do their jobs. Lastly, I was the first to use the restroom when they opened and I could tell it had not been cleaned from the day before. Garbage was full, floors had toilet paper on it, and the toilet had clearly not been properly cleaned. I do not recommend coming to this establishment. It has really gone down hill. This was my first time here. Found this place from others on Yelp. Awesome that your bread comes down a slide! Got the cheesesteak with all he veggies and decided to try it with the fireball. I musts at it was a pretty dang good sandwich. I will be back to try there stop the menu. read more

Love this place! Better than fast food, but still a place that you can get to-go, or sit down after you order and relax with company! I get the rice bowl, as I am gluten free, and am obsessed with it! My fiancé get the philly everytime and loves it as well! We usually share a side of fries, and it has become one of our regulars for sure! They always have really great staff, and it is always clean! I am so glad that we got one of these in Sioux Falls, and I think that it is a hidden gem within the city! read more

This place has the formula: a very limited menu that they execute very well. Great alternative to fast food.

First let me start by saying I love PepperJax. I consider my self a pretty loyal customer. However, I had a terrible experience there last week. My sandwich (regular philly, everything except mushrooms, fire-balled) was the worst one I've had there. No flavor, dry flaky old tasting bun, just terrible. This was around normal lunch time, 12:30 or so. I got it to go, with fries. They were behind on cooking fries so the ones I got were more like warmed up potato slices, chewy in the middle. To top it off, my fountain pop was straight carbonated water, no flavor syrup at all. I can understand the fountain pop thing every once in awhile at restaurants, but it was just the icing on the cake for this trip. If that would have been the only problem I would have let it go. My bad for not tasting it while I was there filling it up. So did I complain you ask? Yep, I went to the website and filled out the survey as they suggested, leaving my phone number and email address, and got nothing. No call, no email. I guess they figure they'll be busy enough regardless of my feedback. read more

One of my favorite places to eat with my bf. Best Philly cheesesteaks by far and large portions. My sister is a vegetarian and they clean the entire grill prior to cooking her veggies!! Very courteous. I gave it 4/5 because I'm disappointed in the lack of response from the company and management in regards to a ONE time case of food poisoning that landed me in the ER (also was pregnant). I had emailed the company/restaurant to advise them of the situation. We had stopped in about 45 minutes prior to closing and a female employee was cleaning the grills. The cook time for my Philly seemed shorter and my bf mentioned to me he saw a piece of raw meat in my sandwich. I didn't really listen or see anything that looked undercooked but I didn't look hard, I was hungry. Anyways, I ate it anyways bc we are serious regulars and I just didn't think anything of it. Needless to say I was out for 4 days thereafter insanely sick. I understand there are always risks in regards to food prep at fast food/quick serve places...even sit down. I'll go back after this pregnancy. But I will be having a direct word with management prior to ordering. read more
