I love a mushroom pizza steak and this is first one I've had where they chop the mushrooms with the meat and cheese. The sandwich was filled with meat. The roll was so soft and fresh. When I ordered it and was ready to pay for my sandwich, the female cashier told me I owed $17 and change. I knew that price was more than the price posted on their board and I told her the price on the board said $13.79 for a Mini Cheesesteak. She responded that the owner said he had to raise the prices because the cost of meat has gone up. I did not buy the Mini Cheesesteak because I told her the price she charged me was higher than the price posted on the board in Gaetano's. I googled this and found out this is an unlawful business practice to charge customers more than the prices stated on their board. Here's what I found when I googled this situation: Can restaurants in NJ charge customers a higher amount for food than their posted prices? No, restaurants in New Jersey cannot legally charge a higher price for food than what is displayed on their menus or posted boards. Doing so violates state consumer protection laws. Please look into the practice of overcharging consumers for food purchased at Gaetano's.
