I lived in Willingboro for many years and I moved to the Bay Area in California in 1994. I loved Gaetano's Cheesesteaks when I lived in the area. I am in town to attend an event and I went to Gaetano's last night to buy a Cheesesteak. Since I know they're usually big and filled with meat, I ordered a Mini Cheesesteak with grilled onions and the price was listed as $13.79. When I ordered it and was ready to pay for my sandwich, the female cashier told me I owed $17 and change. I knew that price was more than the price posted on their board and I told her the price on the board said $13.79 for a Mini Cheesesteak. She responded that the owner said he had to raise the prices because the cost of meat has gone up. I did not buy the Mini Cheesesteak because I told her the price she charged me was higher than the price posted on the board in Gaetano's. I googled this and found out this is an unlawful business practice to charge customers more than the prices stated on their board. Here's what I found when I googled this situation: Can restaurants in NJ charge customers a higher amount for food than their posted prices? No, restaurants in New Jersey cannot legally charge a higher price for food than what is displayed on their menus or posted boards. Doing so violates state consumer protection laws. Please look into the practice of overcharging consumers for food purchased at Gaetano's. read more

Came by to get a cheese steak to go. But to avoid opening the sandwich on the way home. I got a slice of pizza to curve my manly hunger. I almost went back to get a large pie. I've been coming here since I was about 10 years old. I'm 62 now. Never had a slice of pizza from here. I learned that I been missing out on something really good. I ordered a cheese steak with mushrooms, onions, and sweet peppers. They give you so much meat you need to use a fork or get more bread. The bread is soft, structured, with a good bite, and doesn't tear at the bottom. They season the meat just right. But I always order without salt. If you passing exit 5 (Willingboro) on the turnpike. Get yourself over their for the best cheese steak you'll ever have. read more

The original Gaetanos provides the best cheese steak experience. To the best of my knowledge, only 1 store remains. The last w times I've been in the store, everything seemed to be off. The people I'm used to seeing are gone (everybody), and the food preparation was not up to snuff. If that last store has been sold, the future may be lost. Gaetanos never franchised. The other stores are free to operate as they wish. There are no controls, or restrictions. Most approximate descent food but come up short. If this last store has been sold, they too will eventually start altering ingredients. I will do my research as I believe you should as well. read more

This is my favorite cheesesteak place in the world but on Friday I just wanted some mozzarella sticks and onion rings. Ordered them, got them delivered. The fried mozzarella was good, nothing extraordinary basic fried mozzarella. The onion rings though, they were terrible. They were so burnt that they had brown spots all over them. They looked like leopards or leprosy? Either way, they were so unaesthetically pleasing that they gave me the heebie jeebies. I hated looking at them. I tossed them so fast. I was so excited for this, I haven't been in New Jersey in years. I grew up eating these from this store, at another location. When I returned to my hotel, I opened my package only to find a crap storm! My order was simple, cheesesteak with ketchup, mayo, and mushrooms. What I found was onions, bell peppers, pepperoni, and swimming in ketchup. The meat was over cooked after scraping away everything, I didn't want to eat but a few bites just to see if the flavor was there have been hard to screw up. Taste was there, however, my order was totally screwed up. After taxes and tip this over $40 sandwich was inedible for me so, I will stick to making these at home from here on out! Just skip this place. I had good experience with other locations like in Gloucester so when I saw this place I stopped in. It a fail all around. There was no one to talk my order for a while. They have no menus so you need to use the one taped to the counter. The price was over $80 for me and my kids. Been here an hour now and still haven't received half our food. Not bad as I thought. The steak sub was huge one for a small sub ordered. I first looked at the price and realized it was a lot pricey on small sub. Then the food served and I realized that it was a huge one. I had Mr. Gee sub (steak with mushrooms, sweet red peppers, onions, pepperoni and cheese ) I decided to remove the pepperoni and it tasted good but the small sub was good for two people. I was in the area and heard so much about this place close to Philly with the best Philly cheesesteaks. Gaetanos has been around a long time with a good reputation. Don't expect a dazzling place. It's located in a strip mall area and the place has Def seen better days. Very old and dim. They have a small dining area that while isn't the nicest place was still good enough to sit dow and eat. The young lady who served us was the sweetest! Very nice and welcoming. Menu is huge there's something for everyone even for those who don't want a steak sandwich. Those sandwiches are HUGE I ordered a small steak and could barely finish it!! Ginormous!! Steak could have used a bit more flavor and a few fatty pieces in the meat but that happens. The bread was very good fresh and soft. The fries came out piping hot and one order can feed 4 people!!! Lots of pickup and to go orders came out fast. Overall I enjoyed my visit and have tons of leftovers. Def worth the visit if ur in the area. read more

Came here for the first time because I've heard so many people raving about this place and how it's better than the Gaetano's of Pennypacker.... Had the 12" cheesesteak with old bay fries. As far as size goes, the sandwich is huge. It's packed with beef and the $14.00 price tag justifies the size. However....the steak lacked flavor and needed additional home seasonings of my own to get it to par. Similarly for the fries, which ALSO lacks seasoning. Good thing I keep old bay in my cabinet in the kitchen. In total my fav came to a total of $19.00 for steak and fries. The environment looked clean and the cashier was friendly however due to the lack of flavor in conjunction with the inflated price, I wouldn't come back. read more

Usually the food is pretty decent. Large portions, average as far as taste/quality.... just a spot I order from once in a blue. My one issue is their "crab cakes".... they have little to no crab in them. Unfortunately, I threw mine out and forgot to take a picture but it was terrible. I recently ordered a their "Mini Crab Cake Hoagie" and I have no clue what was in it.... It was thick but crumbled/broke very easily and kind of doughy. When I crumbled it further and tried to figure out what it was made of.... it was basically huge breadcrumbs, the red-stringy imitation crab meat, some onions, red peppers and I'm not sure what the binder was in this mix. It looked and felt almost like stuffing. So.... I don't recommend this if you are looking for an actual crab cake. Side note: It was supposed to have tartar sauce but what I got tasted like a blue cheese/ranch concoction. read more

We got the cheesesteak. Gaetano's Steaks. I really really wanted to Love Gaetano's. Parking, tables, bathroom and the young woman at the counter was very very nice and helpful. I think we interrupted the grill man from his dinner prep work. There was a lot of meat but it was flavorless. Having to eat a lot of flavorless meat took away from enjoying all of the good stuff. I had the Jake "The Sicilian Steak" with sharp provolone. I wouldn't get sharp again. It needs a regular or different cheese. Maybe it was.the combo meats without it being a stomboli, but the salt was overpowering. I didn't think it was too greasy at the time, but when you reheat it, put several paper towels under it. I wouldn't do this one again, but would try a normal cheese steak. Service was really slow: 45 min for a pickup??? I was talking to two Uber drivers who said that was normal for a pickup. When I arrived... Three employees were sitting in front of the cash register talking for close to three minutes, right in front of three customers. I finally had enough, and rang the damn bell they had there and asked if they were actually open. Sort of got their attention to which they said my order had another 27 minutes. So precise???? When I tried to order online, around 5:30 PM, it told me.it won't be done till 10 AM the next morning. I believe this is the spot that I came to when I visited my uncle who lives in Willingboro, years ago... but-- the cheese steak was different from what I remember, so now I'm not too sure.. My husband went with a friend before and came home raving about this place, so when he happened to be in the area recently, I told him don't come home without a cheesesteak in your hand!! Lucky for him, he's a smart hubby. First of all.... of.... you want some bread with all of that meat?! WOW! I've never seen a cheesesteak with that much steak!!! It was too much for this girl, who actually prefers an even amount of bread, condiments, meat, and cheese.. So, after I removed some of the meat (I know... I know..), I was able to thoroughly enjoy, and that I did. It was delicious. It was everything I wanted it to be. Especially since my sweet spouse added.......... BACON.... Yaaasss! Where do I start? I've been a customer for over 15 years and Gaetanos is a hit or miss. I've never liked the cheesesteaks no matter how many times I've tried it (at least 5 times) because the meat is too chewy and tasteless I'm also not a fan of sesame rolls. The jumbo wings are good I've tried almost every flavor. I used to love the pizza but the last few times I've had it's been a miss either it was too doughy and I would have to throw it back in my oven to cook or the cheese to sauce ratio was totally off, the cheese should not be thicker than the bread just disgusting. read more

After following Gaetano's on Facebook for years my family and I decided to take the hour and a half drive to just see if the food is as good as it looks. I have to say hands down the very best cheesesteak I've ever had. Everything we ordered was super fresh and tasted amazing. My daughters had chicken fingers and a cheeseburger and they were super happy. The service was extremely helpful and super nice. Our server Courtney was so nice and on top of everything. I will be taking this drive again. I recommend this place to everything I know. AMAZING job Gaetano. read more
