My dogs are traumatized from how loud our apartment is from the maintenance guy slamming doors at 7 am and dragging heady metal patio furniture to people using the pool from sunrise to well after hours - it would be one thing to enjoy the pool as intended but they constantly drag the heavy furniture around, play with soccer balls and slamming the fence that divides our patio from the pool area, and people cannot stop screaming, including children, teenagers and the adults. They act like animals. It feels like rats are crawling on our walls because there is never a quiet moment. It's like these people are unemployed. The laundry rooms are always disgusting, and the machines are constantly down and if it's not that it's a group of teens that would go in and break the lines just for fun. It's not gated so people that don't even live here break into the pool and drop their garbage here (toilets/mattresses/stoves/etc) - leading to surcharges in our rent. People take your parking spot too and there parking on this street is horrendous between all the apartment complexes around there. The manager is a nice lady but has zero b$lls to take your concerns seriously and talk to the tenants about it. Kids have banged on our door just to be mischievous, our neighbor caught these women getting fully nude in front of our apartment, the sherifs are constantly here, the swat team has been here multiple times. People do not pick up after their dogs and leave their trash everywhere, they let their kids go around with scooters all day and it's one thing for kids to be kids and play but another is letting your child be a total nuisance in a shared space with zero adult supervision - they leave trash and rocks everywhere as well as mess with the landscaping. I can honestly say I have never had a single happy day living here. If you are this type of person that has zero consideration for others, don't want any rules, and want a "cheaper" rent and just let your kids do whatever they want this is the place for you. If you value your peace and are a kind neighbor and except the same treatment, please spend a few hundred more and find a different place.

Even though they just raised it with no reason other than it's been a year--- no upgrades. But what I also have come to find is, that all the neighbors are obnoxiously loud, inconsiderate and ghetto --especially near me, disrupting me day and night and I work from home. It seems like no one has a job here because I can hear them in my walls like rats all day and night. I live upstairs but the noises that come from my surrounding area feels and sounds like I live downstairs. Outside landscape is the most welcoming and kept up with, but we have to pay a pest control fee every month, yet the pests are not controlled. This place is roach infested and no matter how many times they've sprayed, there are still creepy crawlers to which I saw one come out of an outlet in the kitchen! They act like my complaints are irritating and unnecessary but if I'm going to be paying over $2000 a month, that is the bare minimum. Your rent also goes up significantly because utilities are included, but what you will learn is that you share meters/water heater so you have to pay for water and the heat for the water separately-- no matter how much water you're using. The smell of the pipes are so old and gross, it creeps into your house. I've spent so much money on air freshener to avoid vomiting. I'm hardly ever home and I'm still paying 70+ dollars for water every month, plus my own SDG&E bill for the electricity part. I contacted the property management company about this to ask, and they gave me the runaround and stopped replying when I didn't agree to a phone call. That's not suspicious at all. The property manager on the premise will just send you an addendum that doesn't explain much, and definitely none of these things explicitly. You also have to pay for the trash and that "fluctuates." As an individual currently, I'm paying $93 for trash because they split it/ release responsibility throughout the entire complex as they throw away toilets, fridges, closet doors and cement blocks. Seemingly they have trouble leasing these, due to all of these things aforementioned-- so whoever lives here is stuck paying whatever bill comes instead of the property management/owner. Meanwhile, because I'm rarely here, I barely use the dumpster while people are throwing away entire furniture collections every other week. The popcorn ceilings are so outdated and full of dust that my allergies are on 10 all the time and cleaning is more often than not because surfaces get dusty probably the next day after you've cleaned. It's actually really hard to keep up with. There's a pool, but I don't think anyone cleans it so the water is always murky and full of bugs and leaves. I guess it's all preparing me for homeownership. It's actually been a traumatizing year living here and I've only been physically here five months out of the year. So if all that is right up your alley, then you found your home.

She offered him my same apartment for him to move back in, while I move out. That is ILLEGAL to further victimize the victim as a form of punishment. She has connections to him and his family personally and is friends with his Mom. After standing up for myself and pointing out her inappropriate behavior, she called the police on me. Police didn't do SHIT BECAUSE I didn't do anything wrong. They even apologized to me, because my face was CLEARLY BEAT UP. I have all the pictures. It seems like she's on a power trip and may be struggling with her own insecurities because of her being overweight. I anticipate she might respond to this post with SOME BULLSHIT LIES, as she always does when someone calls her out. She also allowed my abuser to view video surveillance of me (when I had an active RTO) regarding who was coming in and out of my apartment, causing him to retaliate against me.

We have lived at this apartment building for three years, first of all when we moved in our unit…read morewas not clean there was feces on the wall and numerous things wrong with the unit, we could not move in on time, because the house smelled so bad, and they needed to redo the floorboards. So beware if you sign a lease here, without looking at the unit first, this was during Covid, so hopefully those procedures have changed. Within the past few months, living here has been extremely horrible and scary, with the uprise of cars, getting stolen and broken into, add in the homeless people sleeping at the pool area, rummaging through trash and constantly entering the gym. Our vehicle has been broken into 3 times and still there is no offer of recording surveillance. I do not recommend this location if you have kids, it is not safe. Outdated, rusted lights, medicine cabinets and mirrors in the bathroom, cabinets so old they fall apart, doors put together wrong.. look else where this is no place to call home..

In all of the rental places that I have ever lived, I have never met a landlady that had a tenant's back more than that woman. But you have to earn it. It's real simple to do: Pay your rent on time, don't cause problems for anyone else, and be a good member of the community. That was another thing. The place was set up like a community. You got to know your neighbors. They would look out for you and help you. I moved in with no furniture, and by the time I moved out years later, people in the place had sold me their old things, meaning that I had acquired a set of couches and an easy chair that I kept for some time, and a dining room table. All sold these days, but so vitally helpful back then. Neighbors became regular faces and friends. The place had (at the time, and perhaps still) a saltwater swimming pool, a grill, and a on-site laundry place. Her sons take care of the maintenance. You weren't jerked around when something went wrong. It was taken care of quickly, and done well. The apartment is also right there located behind a fence to gas stations, pharmacies, restaurants, banks, and grocery stores. It's also minutes from downtown El Cajon and a shopping center on the other side. Were there downsides? When I was there, there were the occasional homeless rooting through garbage for recyclables, a few late-night skateboarders and lovelorn "baby daddy" arguments, but that's the neighborhood, not the complex. Claudette made sure it didn't get inside the complex. As for the complex, I wish the site allowed for pets, but that was the only real downside. As long as you were a good neighbor and got along with people, things went well. If you acted like a jerk on premises, well, your days were numbered. Like I said, it doesn't look like much, but it's clean, and well run, and Claudette is a true gem of a landlady and a person. She's the only landlady I've ever looked back fondly on and missed. My time there was a strange chapter in my life, but that's one part that I would do exactly the same again.
