She is truly one of the most helpful, compassionate, and dedicated nurses I've ever met. Alejandra always goes the extra mile whether it's making sure my grandpa is comfortable, taking time to chat with him, or checking in with me personally to give updates on how he's doing. I really appreciate how she keeps me informed about his health and well-being; it means so much to know he's in such good hands. Her kindness and patience shine through in everything she does. You can tell she genuinely cares about her residents and treats them like family. It's a huge relief to know that my grandpa is being cared for by someone so thoughtful and dependable. We are truly grateful for Alejandra and the wonderful team at Brittney House Assisted Living. She's made such a positive difference in my grandpa's life and in ours too.

I would strongly advise anyone considering this place for a loved one to look elsewhere. The Memory Care/Locked Unit: The "care" in the locked unit was non-existent. The staff--mostly teenagers--were huddled together on their phones, completely ignoring the residents. The smell of soiled clothing was overwhelming, suggesting residents are left for long periods without changes. Even more alarming, I saw residents with scaly skin, bruising, and marks on their arms that looked like they had been roughly handled or restrained against their will. One gentleman was in the hallway crying to go home, and no one even looked up from their screens to comfort him. Professional Misconduct: When I asked for a floor supervisor to address the lack of staff in the assisted living area, a woman eventually appeared from a storage closet with a male, adjusting her clothes in a very unprofessional manner. It turned out she was the supervisor for the unit. The lack of supervision and basic professional ethics is appalling. Management: The Executive Director comes across as very "fake." Based on my visit, it seems management is focused on appearances and salary rather than the actual safety and dignity of the seniors living there. They are permitting an environment where neglect is the standard. This is not a safe environment for the elderly. I am in the process of reporting my observations to the proper authorities (Social Services and the Ombudsman) because no one should have to live in these conditions.

I appreciated the on-call doctor, the monthly well-care visits by the nurse practitioner and the in-home delivery by the pharmacy. Also available was a podiatrist, hair dresser, PT and hygienist. This helped as my mom became less mobile. All holidays are celebrated with food and decorations. Family members are welcome. Birthdays are special. Students from Long Beach State engage the residents in various activities. A priest visits often. The owner is very hands-on and communicates as required. The residents live in a clean and safe environment. I would place another family member there.

Maravic and her crew were so gracious, kind and very sweet to my mother in law. She felt very special, we observed the others being treated just as special. I can say…read morefrom recent experience- it's exhausting work to find a facility that has everything you're looking for and still be affordable . Premire Cottage , specifically Clark Cottage, was by far the best fit for my family and the best choice for me in my area. Jose gave us a tour of all his properties and the staff at each location introduced themselves, each location was clean and well maintained and the staff were attentive to each of the residents. I selected the Clark Cottage property because it was centrally locates for my family - and my mom has been well cared for and happy for the first time in months -she is served 3 well balanced meals per day and has daily intersections with the staff that has kept her spirits up while we have been " safer at home ". We can call her whenever we wish and she has a caregiver 24-7. Premire cottages has taken away so many worries and stresses since my mom moved in - I can't thank them enough - and now that we have a doctor that will make house calls to see my mom - and manage her medications I have even less stress and can concentrate on being a happy influence for my mother, not constantly worried for her health and safety . I highly recommend Premire cottages , Jose and his staff are outstanding -and are truly passionate about the work they do .

They are sincere in their intentions and really do put the residents and their quality of life first. Though I don't know the staff personally I can tell the owners are committed to care and compliance. This is what you want in a good RCFE. Going through placement of a loved one can be an emotional roller coaster. I've seen the worst come out in some family members when mom or dad start to decline. Sadly, it's a common trend to blame others when they can't regain original conditions of health in said loved ones. I would place my own mom here. I recommend Mom and Dad's House to everyone and feel 100% confident in the administration as well as the sincere intentions of the incredibly experienced owners.

When checking the old license go to the report. Go to complaints and choose the date of 1/19/24. You can read the entire report. The Unsubstantiated Claims show up first. If you scroll down to the Substantiated Claims you will see what the State substantiated. Keep in mind the substantiated are there because there were outside witnesses. The unsubstantiated is because no resident is going to tell the truth about what really goes on, understandably, they have to live there. Beware of the owner Jose Umana and the Administrator Elsa Roman. They come off very professionally and compassionated. They really don't care about anything but your money. Jose has 5 or 6 of these residences and they know all the tricks of not reporting what goes on.

I always visited my mother at Vernon Cottage several times every week and saw first hand the personalized care my mother was receiving in a small, home like atmosphere. Just perfect for us! Now during these difficult times when we can no longer visit due to the COVID-19 virus, Jose and Elsa are finding ways for me to FaceTime with my mother and the staff help my mother with phone calls, just letting her hear my voice saying that I love her. I know that this sounds cliche', but it is true. My father had a serious fall after being neglected at his previous living facility. I needed to find him a new and improved living situation. I can't put into words how fortunate I was to find Tony and his wife to guide me through transitioning my fathers living arrangements and placing him in the care of their experienced and kind staff of caregivers. There are no words for the relief that I and our family were able to experience knowing that dad was being looked after. His needs were being met, both medical and emotional. Each day he was cared for and encouraged to engage with others and remain active as best as he could in the home. This place is clean and well maintained. I can't say enough good things about the care, the facility, and the genuine kindness and compassion that we experience while at Suncoast Senior Living.
