Decent municipal course. Currently working on a new driving range a year overdue. No ball washers....bring a wet cloth. No flag markers to tell front middle back of green....bring your own range finder. Drinking fountains only work some of the time.....bring water. this place is the best place. Matt the shop pro is the most cheerfull person ever. the holes are grate they are so much fun to play.

I love this course. It's in beautiful shape, the groundskeepers do a nice job keeping the playing area neat and the greens can be quite fast. There are bathrooms and portapottys on course, the snack shack is fine, sometimes missing items but basic and well run. Overall I highly recommend read more

50 minutes of sun left in the sky, when I arrive here and walk the pilgrimage from the parking lot to the pro shop to get my tokens for the driving range, and I find a locked door. No recording when I called advance to tell me the hours of the driving range, or the shop, for that matter. A wet-behind-the-ears minimum wager telling me there's nothing he can do about it as he washes the golf carts. Lowest on my priority list of courses from here on in. read more

Rockledge is a great. I'm always able to get on and play and the price is reasonable. I am a local resident and have never had trouble getting out. The course itself is always in good condition. The company I work for hosted our holiday party there last weekend. This place definitely deserves a great review because we had stellar service and the food was delicious! The staff was very attentive to our needs and put up with all of us:) I'm not sure why this place has the bad reviews I've read on here but maybe most people don't post unless it's negative? Yeah, it's a really solid public golf course... you should expect no less from West Hartford. More or less impeccably kept, plenty of water jugs between holes, consistent greens, etc. This is also a hard course. I have shot one of my better rounds here, but it was luck for sure. The 6th hole is basically impossible not to double bogey if you're a mid-90's golfer like me, with a giant hill standing between you and any sight of the hole. The 7th hole's green is guarded by an almost unfair gigantic tree, and you can't overshoot the green, lest your ball fall over a ledge. Only sharks will make that green in regulation. So a few minor beefs with the course layout, but you'll have a good time for a decent price... $37 for residents. The driving range is convenient, and the restaurant is quite nice, especially for a golf course. I'd even go there if I wasn't playing golf. read more

So I've never golfed (don't golf), but felt compelled to review it as I use their winter trails in the off-season weekly. It's great to see a golf course that recognizes how great their space is and makes it accessible to walkers, runners, and pups, doing the offseason months. The trails are clearly marked and maintained even though snow and ice, or you can wander around and explore the trails and greens on your own. Pups love exploring the sand traps, bridges, and other little golf course secrets. read more

Relatively short course however it is kept in great condition. Very reasonable price and it's even better if your a resident. There are a few very interesting holes which offer great risk/reward for getting aggressive. It is also open in the cold weather. I recommend giving it a shot if your in the area. read more

Rockledge is a very good public golf course, the price is inexpensive and the course is always in great shape. There are some challenging holes, especially the long par 5s on the back but the course can provide the opportunity to score well if you play the course right. The greens are cared for well and even the sand traps are good. I would recommend that you try to call ahead for tee times, but if you can't, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They will pair you with a group and you on the course. You can book online or call but if you book online, you can find specials and lower prices depending on the tee time that you are looking for. This course will stay open well into the fall and will stay in great shape. If you join the men's club, there are some really great options for tournament play on the weekends and everyone is very friendly. There are also options for working with a golf pro to work on your game. And if you are just looking to hit a few balls for practice, there is a driving range and two different putting greens for practicing. Enjoy! read more

Food isn't bad but it's not good. Like less than average. Honestly everything is less than average. It could have been great idk what happened. And the owners - I can get along with anyone and genuinely like people - there's just not much to like there. They're rude and two of the most unambitious owners I've ever met. And they think they're big shots? No, your restaurant is boring. Kind of like you. Also, chip should try and remove the stick from his ass before it breaks off in there. read more

Was excited about the renovations but idk what happened. the main dining area looks like a cafeteria and the bar is small and closed in. We sat in the "dinning room" because the patio was full. Patio does looks really nice. But saw more than one table outside waiting and one came in to complain that no one ever went over, after 20 minutes! Overall the salmon didnt taste great and my boyfriends wings that were recommended as some of the best in ct were very, very mediocre. Idk where else our server had wings before but they were very average. Went into the bar for a drink after dinner. Waited awhile, no smiling faces. I get they are new but a smile goes a long way even if you're busy or confused. No one seemed to be having fun and it's kinda sad in the dinning room. In no hurry to be back. Only gave 2 stars because of the patio seating. read more

Went there for happy hour to meet a friend, come to find out they have NO HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS! Spoke to Jeff (part owner) asked why and he was pretty rude and said "why should we? We don't need too" the manager on had absolutely no personality. We were walking around the restaurant looking at all the new stuff they did and she said nothing to us....besides all that the bartender Jamie was a total doll. Poured a great drink! She's the star of this place. If you want a great drink ask for her. The rest of them, well I'd say get new staff! read more

The food at the new grill is so mediocre I was very disappointed. The Brie melt had the cheese not melted at all, the apple grape salad was so basic I felt like I was in a diner. The service was not great either. I never got water. The location and the new space is beautiful, but the food is so disappointing, I don't think I would ever go back read more

Rockledge is one of my favorite courses in the area, you can't beat the convenience factor and the course is usually in pretty good shape. Can be a little busy sometimes, but as long as you're not there during the peak times it isn't too bad. Looking forward to getting out there this year. read more

Very convenient course to get to, right off of 84 in west Hartford. Course is always in great shape and has a fair amount of unique holes as opposed to just back and forth. As stated in the other reviews the douse does get pretty packed, weeknights during the summer especially. 2 putting greens and a driving range, range closes at 6 though. Also no beer on course! Was very disappointed by this. All in all a great round of golf however, just byob :) read more

GREAT VALUE - JUST DON'T TRY FOR A TEE TIME. Rockledge is one of the best values for a public course in the Hartford area. However just don't try to book a weekend tee-time. There is a good ol' boy network that runs this course. The same cliché of people have the same times every week. This is supposed to be a public course. It gives one a feeling that outsiders (including town residents) are really not welcome. I showed up to book a tee-time in person at 7:00AM 3-days in advance, as dictated by the rules on the web site. I was told to come back at 8:00am. When I came back... all the morning times were gone. "Bob" (I think was his name) just gave me a small F-U smile. read more

I'd be lying if I said that I would make the trip to play here if I lived more than 30 minutes away. I mean, the grounds are well kept, the on-site restaurant, or 19th hole, has some good food, and it's relaxing to eat outside and have some beers and a cigar on that restaurant's patio, overlooking the course after playing a round, but overall it's by no means one of those courses I'd define as "you have to play here at least once, you owe it to yourself." It's just a good local, public Connecticut course, nothing more than that. read more
