Peralta's is best for drop off but they're closed on Wednesday, often doesn't fit my schedule.

My husband and I have lived or almost 13 years in Taos. I never knew that Peralta's did cleaning. When the cleaners we had used for years closed, I checked Peralta's out on the suggestion of a local. I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I am satisfied with their work and their fair prices. This shop is within a few blocks of our home...nice. They're super rude. I mean discrimination level rude. It felt not unlike the scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts is shunned by snobby sales ladies in a Beverly Hills boutique except it was an obstinate man at a Taos dry cleaners. Second time dealing with him and my last. Ugh. My toddler puked on my comforter and I cleaned the puke but it did stink obviously... and they just looked at me like I was nuts to want it cleaned there. I'd stink the whole place up over the weekend... So I left. Sorry I thought that was the point of a dry cleaners, to help out with these situations. Too bad for them I'll be needing to wash my massage sheets regularly and it will be somewhere else. Fortunately for them I know there aren't many options in town and so they have plenty of clients already... hence the rudeness. read more

I have always had exemplary customer service at Peralta's. Everyone there has been friendly, the service quick, on time and affordable. When I cannot do my own laundry or have oversized bedding they are a blessing. Anyone I mention Peralta's to in town comes back with the "they are the nicest people" comment. I see all kinds & manner of people coming & going from Peralta's with WnF and dry cleaning. When I have had issues with a stain or problem on an article of clothing they have been honest about what they can do & I so appreciate that. I have been going here for 20 years. First when we were doing our own laundry for a household + ourselves and then when they became a wash n fold with the dry cleaners. Our neighbors had been using wnf and when I considered doing the same, Peraltas became not only the lesser expensive than others in town but much more reliable. It was ready for pick up when they said it would be. The dry cleaners did their job well and were honest to advise me when a down vest did not need to be dry cleaned. The review about them being unfriendly has never been my experience at all and in fact was what kept me coming back over the years. Since Joey started several years ago at the front desk you cannot get more friendly than him, but then I am down to earth and when people with entitlement attitudes come to town and act like movie stars perhaps they get the rudeness they put out. I have seen many town professionals lawyers,doctors ect...and high end Texan business people coming there to have their dry clean done and if the Peralta's (really family owned and operated) were nasty that would not be the case. I have experienced two places in town fitting the rude/racist scale but NOT THIS PLACE, NEVER. Now I do not know the family personally nor hang out with them which is typical with the real Taosenous and us out of state immigrants but what I said is the facts. Find out for yourselves. read more
