As someone who moved to Austin from out of town, Dwight Baker was absolutely fantastic to work with. I wish I could write this review just for Dwight, instead of Apartments Now, because he was the only person I dealt with. I just moved to Austin from California in early July 2011 for school (i.e. I had spent a grand total of 30 hours in Austin and knew nothing about the city), and a family friend who had lived in Austin for several years gave me Dwight's information with a rave recommendation. I called Dwight initially to touch base at the end of May--he picked up the phone immediately, was super friendly on the phone and we talked for about 20 minutes about what I was looking for, the housing market in Austin, etc. He sent me a bunch of apartments to look at in the meantime. I checked those out on a variety of websites, called him back a few days later, conferred, and he sent me different options--this process repeated again once I brought my boyfriend into the conversation. All in all Dwight spent over an hour on the phone with me before I even arrived in Austin and the result was that he really understood what we were looking for. When we arrived in Austin he had blocked off two days just for us. We started at 9 a.m. with calling around to complexes to check for availability--early July is apparently not a great time to be looking for an apartment, since they are more in demand and availability is much more limited. We saw several places the first day and ended up paying a non-refundable application fee at one place to hold an apartment for us. My boyfriend and I went back to the complex later on by ourselves, walked around the neighborhood and found that we really did not like it; so we got onto the internet, found a bunch more places, sent them to Dwight, and the next morning he checked them all out for us, and found another place as well-Gables- that he had not considered before because their prices are usually much higher than we could afford, but they had just dropped them the week before. He took us to Gables, and with the lowered price it fulfilled everything we were looking for--not as much space as we would have liked, but everything else about the apartment and the location makes up for that (e.g. washer/dryer in apartment and an excellent and walkable neighborhood)--and we moved in the next day. Dwight felt very bad about us putting down money at the first apartment complex, and a week after we moved in he dropped off a gift certificate for half of that amount--this was very nice of him and he definitely did not have to do this. All in all, working with Dwight was awesome! He managed to find us a great apartment that fit out needs in a very limited amount of time. DWIGHT WORKED SO HARD to make sure that we ended up in an apartment that we were happy with--that was the most important thing to him, not the size of the commission he would make, but that the apartment was right for us. He is also just a really nice guy--since we were both new in town he drove us all over Austin to show us around, told us all about Austin--the history, the culture--and he's just a great guy to talk to. If I need another apartment in Austin Dwight will definitely be the first person that I call. read more

I have lived in an efficiency apartment in East Austin for nearly 4 years - it's a converted garage, right around 100 square feet, and when I found it right out of college it was the perfect fit for my needs and budget. Over the past year however, I've really started to feel cramped and actually decided to embark on the exhausting pursuit of home ownership - well, four months later and I'm still in my tiny little hovel. So out of desperation and some serious talks with family and friends about what was really the next step for me (I'm a 26 year old single lady working for a tech startup), I decided that maybe the next best step for me was to find a nice rental, closer to where I work downtown, with some basic amenities that would feel like the Taj Mahal compared to where I've been for the past 3.5 years. Now less than a week later and I've gone through the application process and been approved for an apartment just a couple miles from downtown, that's within my budget and run by a property management company that is already exhibiting positive signs (after my application was approved, I pulled a princess move and asked whether maybe I could change to a 2nd level apartment rather than first floor - no problem! they said, and asked if there was anything else they could do to help). Eden Weiss at Apartments Now is simply the best! When my wife and I contacted her about moving into an apartment in Austin, we were living in Philadelphia, PA and had only spent two days in Texas. We were entirely blind, but Eden immediately stepped in as our eyes once we contacted her. She selflessly attended only to our desires and needs with no ulterior motives. Corresponding through e-mail and on the phone, we interacted with her early in the morning to late at night for several days until we found the perfect place. She narrowed down the choices with each variable we provided--close to such and such place, good neighborhood, washer/dryer connections, nice pools, etc. Once we felt confident that we had found the best place for us within our price range, then she really showed us how extraordinarily concerned about our happiness she was. Recognizing that we had no idea where this apartment was, she guided us through Google maps and Google earth, showing us exactly where everything is nearby, and even what the complex looked like. Moreover, she took the time to guide us through bus schedules to show us exactly what our commutes would look like. She raised our confidence from hesitant to certain, and would not let us proceed until our anxieties were assuaged. At this point, we thought we were on our own, but NO! She set up three-way calls with the apartment leasing office and us to make sure that we got the best of everything and were treated properly and efficiently, which we were, thanks to her. Eden knows everybody and everything there is to know about living in Austin, and helped us make a major move much simpler than it should have been. We moved into our apartment a couple of weeks ago, and sure enough, it is perfect for us, probably better than anything we would have ever discovered on our own. After two years in my current place, I decided it was time for a change. I knew I needed a cheaper place, but I also wanted a bigger place. I spent a lot of time on my own doing apartment searches, reading reviews, and going to apartment complex's websites, but I didn't feel that excited about any of the ones I had found. When I got there, it was disappointing or there were hidden costs not put on their site. The whole process was overwhelming. During one of my searches, I saw something about Apartments Now and read some of their reviews. I decided to request some information. Thank the Good Lord for Dwight Baker!!!! Relocating for a job isn't easy. Relocating for a job with a month notice is cause for a nervous breakdown... because of Dwight it was the easiest move I have ever gone through! I was referred to Dwight from a friend who said he was the best in the business. That was an understatement. I gave Dwight a list of needs for an apartment in the Round Rock area. The list was SIXTEEN BULLET POINTS LONG- many of which were non-negotiable items. Anybody else in the business would have laughed me out the door. Not Dwight. He was patient, kind and understanding. He was able to help me realize wants vs needs and the reasoning behind why my family needed those features in an apartment. He was honest about the good, bad and the ugly about each different area. I had to find this apartment while I was helping plan both of my sisters weddings and my husbands graduation. To say my schedule was impossible to work with would have been an understatement... but he understood and worked around my schedule to make sure that I didn't miss out on our apartment. After we moved in he has still followed up to check and see how we are doing. He is one of the few good sales people that not only helps you through the sale but maintains the relationship after. Tiffany was great and I would highly recommend! My fiance and I moved from out of state and were not familiar with the area at all. Tiffany went above and beyond searching for places that met our criteria and getting us as much information about the apartment, utilities, and general neighborhood as possible. It's nerve-wracking to commit to a one-year lease for an apartment you've never seen in a city you know nothing about, but Tiffany made it easy. She went to the apartments that were our top choices (based on the wealth of information she gathered for us) and took pictures and video of the exact units so that we could feel confident about what we were signing on for. She was consistently available for questions, even after the classic business hours, and gave us a lot of good information, along with her personal recommendations, which we appreciated since we weren't familiar with the particular neighborhoods, traffic/driving, etc. The best part was how quickly she helped us. I visited austin twice before deciding to move. I emailed a website and got referred to apartments now. As soon as i emailed them, Josh Carpenter called and emailed me to offer his help with finding an apartment. I gave him the criteria of what me and my roomate wanted, and set up an appointment to see him when I would be in town again. I did a bunch of searching on my own and visited several places but by far, the easiest and best thing was meeting with josh. I was very weary of using a locator because I was afraid they would be pushy and maybe get me into something I didn't want, BUT josh was anything but pushy! He quickly pulled an updated list of apartments that fit our criteria and that we both agreed on, and made some calls. Tina is an absolute ANGEL! I had a bit of a crisis situation, I needed to move into an apartment within 72 hours. I'd worked with 5 realtors prior to finding Tina and wasted so much time. I was stressed beyond belief! Just speaking with Tina on the phone calmed my nerves, she was so warm, friendly, and confident she would find the perfect spot for me. Previous realtors would send me photos of properties but not tell me the names or locations, so I wouldn't have any idea as to the location or possible prices of the apartment complexes I was interested in. Everyone knows how frustrating it can be driving all around town trying to find something in your price range, with everything you want. It can take weeks. Not with these guys!! After having the worst day ever due to The Riverton Apartments being COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED and trying to put us into a 1 bedroom that was nothing like they described; Apartments NOW! completely saved us! Our move in date for the Riverton was Jan 14, we had planned everything out. We get there the day of thinking we are getting one layout- and upon receiving our keys and walking in, we find out its a handicap room, no garden tub, wire baskets, no cabinets! I just got through working with Kendra Werner. I can't be happier. I was referred to her by a friend who told me how happy he was with the service so I figured I had nothing to lose. I had to move to Austin within two weeks and wasn't even entirely sure when I'd have all my funds available, so everything was up in the air. Despite my indecision, she came through and found me a ton of great places within my price range (and actually well below) but with all the amenities I demanded. I consider myself a very picky person. The meeting with her didn't last long. She had my read and we knew what we were going to look at. One note, I told her a location I didn't want, for a specific reason (a lack of knowledge on my part) and she gave me a nudge to give the area a chance just in case I end up liking it. I not only ended up choosing a unit in the area, but it ended up closer to work than my other choice. Within an hour and a half of meeting her, I had the perfect apartment reserved. I have lived in various Austin apartments over several years, but this was the first time I sought help from an apartment locator. I don't know why, but I have always been hesitant about trying it. I am happy to say that I was left extremely satisfied with the experience. Specifically, "Rebecca McMillan" is the agent who helped me. It was the most productive and enjoyable apartment "search" I have ever been part of (though it's hard to call something a "search" with how quickly things worked out :P ). I called the office late-afternoon on a Friday and was able to get an appointment for the following day. In our brief phone call of 5-10 minutes, she asked me only a few questions about what I was looking for, and when I saw her the next afternoon she had located the perfect place. We only had to visit that one location and it was everything I had requested, but a lot bigger and nicer, and actually even CHEAPER than I had hoped for. If only all things in life were so simple. Prior to my experience with Rebecca, apartment-searching was an anxiety-ridden weeks-long pursuit. My total experience took only part of an afternoon, and that was it. I was referred to Kendra Werner by a coworker the day I found out that my lease was not being renewed. I texted Kendra and within ten minutes she had responded back and within the next hour she had sent me over a list of apartments with the location, amenities, pricing, etc. That weekend I met with Kendra at the office to narrow down my search and she had already done all of the hard work of calling each apartment to get pricing, specials, deposit costs which made picking my top apartments easy. After we narrowed it down we then went to my top favorite places and within an hour I had already put my application in and reserved an apartment. I would highly recommend using Kendra as she was great! In October, I looked for places to live all over Travis County as I was starting a new job and needed to find somewhere to settle and quick! Given my circumstances, I had hopes that continued to dwindle as the days went on. I was beginning to wonder if I'd find something I'd like, and that suited my dog and me. MY agent was TIM ROLLINGS, from the start he was in constant communication as we were new to the Austin area, worked on a whole list of places that fit our criteria and when we met with him half of them had filled up due to the high volume of inflowing new residence, he even drove his own car using his gas all over Austin taking us to various places, and each spot had filled up even one location he had spoken to the night before, but in that 12 hr period someone had snagged it online :( and that was the last place on the list, but luckily TIM ran us back to the office and we found a decent affordable complex located right next to the HEB, so that's a big plus, Austin is filling up quickly so just don't fuck around and waste yours or his time and you'll be fine. TIM was very courteous and professional and made us feel alot better about the moving process as our move out date was july 4th and we had less than 5 days when he first contacted him so we were anxious to say the least, basically any advice is if your serous about finding a decent place just keep in touch with him he texts back usually withing 5-10 mins and answers calls, so just keep in contact with the dude and you'll be fine :) no complaints here:) read more

I recently relocated from California and the apartment locator I used at first had me in the worse possible are in Austin. I was so stressed out and battling to get out of my lease. JENNA WINOT, (apartment locator) Do you need an apartment locator that will listen to your detailed information and work around the clock and not put excuses??? Jenna W. is an amazing person!!! She listened to my details, the apartment details I wanted, the area, her patience, when I asked for a list, I thought I was going to get 3-4 places. This young lady spit out 8-10 places that suit my needs and wants for my temporary stay in Austin. She knew I was from Odessa, Texas and had no clue what area was decent or good for me. I actually liked the first three places, but the apartment complex dropped the ball!!! They did not call me back or do what they said they were going to do so unfortunately I had to tell Jenna to help me again. Did she gripe about having to do more work? HELL NO, she was apologizing for the three places dropping the ball!!!! Then next thing you know it, she's sending out more places!!! I did not have to ask her, she jumped on it immediately!!! Jenna is a prime example of a person that is a working girl that's tuff!! I love her attitude, her work ethics, and her attitude. (Apartments Now! = Call Now!) Ingrid was given a steep order of absolute "musts" (more accessibility-related than cute niceties) and was up for the challenge. She brought insightful information about various properties, sharing the difference in classifications and which would be the best fitting options for me. She, without hesitation, placed several phone calls to leasing agents, asking all the right questions, as she sought web details omitted such as neighboring schools. From the beginning, Ingrid was responsive, positive, knowledgeable and determined, accomplishing that which I was unable to within the span of an hour. As for the result, she found a high-end property, with a spacious unit fitting my requirements, at questionably low rate. She advised that it'd be best to high-tail it over asap, as she's seen such inventory snapped up before making it to the leasing office. (Online applications are contenders, too.) Fast forward, the unit was still available and I plan to sign a lease this upcoming week. Thanks, Ingrid! You were so easy and pleasant to work with.
