    I was having the smell of oil in my home every day. This was only made worse after the summer…read morecleaning. It turns out that the electrodes were slightly misaligned, causing a small accumulation of oil within my unit. Unfortunately to get to this resolution, it took a 1-star experience. A very unhelpful technician (1-star) came and went in less than 10 minutes, telling me he couldn't smell the odor so I'd "need a second opinion". I called back to SMO for further assistance. Tyrisha Monroe assisted me (5-stars!). Each time I called in, I spoke with Tyrisha. She was extremely courteous, understanding, and helpful. She immediately scheduled a more experienced technician to my case. Within a few hours, Reggie was at my door (5-stars++!). Reginald Morton has serviced our furnace in the past. He is extremely professional, wise in his trade, and a genuinely nice man whom I gladly welcome into my home. Reggie worked hard, trouble shot the issue, explained everything to me, then made sure the entire space was nice and clean before he left. I have always been impressed with Reggie's quality of work and kind demeanor. After today's experience, I requested that he be tagged as my preferred technician (I'm not sure if that's a thing, but I certainly hope it is!) --as long as all you Yelp readers don't start requesting him to the point that he is not available when I need him. ;D Well done SMO, you have two extremely professional employees who care about their work. They deserve your acknowledgement. In this day of so many people being more interested in themselves than their job, this was refreshing.

They were contracted out…read morethrough my home warranty company to repair my hot water heater and at first, things seemed positive. The part was to be ordered and the "front office" would be in touch. The glaring issue I had was that I was never kept in the loop. I had to email for an update days later because I wasn't called. They stated via email the date the part should be there. When that date came and went, I had to file a complaint with my home warranty company to get an accurate date from him (that I heard because I was on the other line). When the dates he relayed to my company came and went with no update to me or them, I had to bail. The company tried to reach back out to him before reassigning and he never picked up nor responded back. He didn't have the common courtesy to let me know anything nor apologize for the constant slide in the dates. Instead, he just ghosted....never to be heard from again. I feel the entire interaction was very unprofessional. Not to mention, the price that was quoted was much more expensive than what I got the system replaced for by another company (by approx. $1500). The new contractor actually laughed at both estimates that were given to me by On Q Services to replace or repair. As a woman, I feel I was being taken advantage of. I do not recommend.

    We chose this company after shopping around, in part because we are a veteran family and wanted to…read moresupport a veteran-owned business. We signed and paid on a Wednesday, with work scheduled to begin Friday morning. I took off work and waited at the property. No one showed up and no one called. I had to contact the office myself to find out no one was coming. Work did not begin until the following Monday. Unfortunately, that was the beginning of a pattern that continued throughout the entire project. We repeatedly had to call for basic information about the status of our property. Calls went unanswered, promised callbacks did not happen, and we received vague or conflicting explanations about staffing and project status. At one point, a company employee called and had to ask us what condition our property was in and whether the house had running water. We should not have been responsible for updating the contractor's own staff on the status of their project. After the plumbing work was performed, we were told the remaining step was inspection and that the office would coordinate it. We waited, repeatedly followed up, and eventually contacted the permitting office ourselves. At that time, we were told there was no permit or application on file for our property. Meanwhile, an approximately eight-foot trench remained open in our front yard with plumbing exposed for weeks. After nearly a month of problems, we requested a refund and asked that no one from the company enter our property without authorization. The owner confirmed in writing that no one would do so. Despite that, workers arrived at the property without coordinating an arrival time with us. We received an automated notification that a technician was en route, but no inspection time had been provided. We had to call the inspection office ourselves and learned that the inspection window was 11 a.m.-1 p.m., although the company arrived hours earlier. When my husband questioned the technician about why they were there, the status of the project, and the conflicting information we had received, the company subsequently texted us accusing my husband of "harassing" the technician and stated that they had called the county and canceled the permit. This experience goes far beyond poor communication. It has involved a missed appointment, repeated failures to follow through, poor internal coordination, conflicting information, weeks of chasing answers about our own property, an extended open excavation, and ultimately being told the permit was canceled after we asked questions about what was happening. We have documented our communications, calls, property condition, and timeline. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.
