I'm a cleaner who has accounts in a few of their buildings. Just today, one building ate my key. The lock was recently replaced for the same reason. Then, I went across the street to my next account and got locked inside that building. Fortunately, there was an empty office with an exterior door, so I got out that way. This is the 2nd time that's happened. I called the 24 hour line on the posters that are everywhere,and the woman literally said she couldn't help me. Locked INSIDE a building on a Saturday morning, and she can't do anything. I told her to put in an order to fix a door, because I was about to put a chair through it. Pest/Bug service requested over a month ago at the busiest time for ants and bees and other flying things around the perimeter of our building in June. Peregrine doesn't care to get it right. Totally unresponsive to request for service. ZERO stars is the correct rating.. read more

Great company with great leadership. I reached out to ownership/management in regards to heating and hot water issues within my unit. Within hours I had a response from "Brendan" who explained that a plumbing company would be in contact with me within the next day or so to assess the issue further. Coincidentally, within 17 minutes, I heard from the plumber Kevin, who had scheduled to come out within the next hour. It was determined that my unit needed to be replaced entirely. It was agreed upon by Pereguin and the plumber that they would replace the unit the following day. At 730 AM, the plumber began work, and I had a brand new Navien on demand wall unit heating and providing hot water to my unit by 1050 am. I was very grateful and appreciative to the time and attention put toward addressing and resolving this matter in a very timely and efficient manner. It was a very pleasant and professional experience considering the hassle of a hot water/heating unit failing. I expected to be in a hotel and without heat and water for at the very least 3 to 5 days. All was resolved with 27 hours, from notice to completion and operation. I am in a property that was sold to Peregrine. I have been at this property for over four years and never had a problem previously. In the few short months I have been with them I put in a service request online. A feature new for tenants of my property. Only to find out that this is a waste of time because they don't check these service requests and had to call anyways. They entered my apartment to fix an issue and left a door hanger stating they had been on the premises and presumably the problem was fixed. The issue was never fixed and I had to have a second person come over the weekend come to ACTUALLY fix the issue. In addition, they decided it would be a good idea to change all the locks to the outside doors knowing that not all the tenants had been provided with a key. Rather than providing a key in advance they though adequate notice was to post a letter on our front doors (which no one uses as the parking lot is in the back) and change the locks knowing that there were many people that had not yet received a key. Common sense tells me that maybe they should have provided the key in advance but what do I know, I don't run a property management company. As a result, I returned home from work on a Friday night and was locked out. Along with a number of other tenants of my building. Upon calling, you're greeted by an answering service and never anyone from the actual company. I didn't get into my apartment until well after 8 that evening. And as I am told, I wasn't the only one as they had done this with several other buildings. VERY disappointed in the lack of common sense with this company. read more

A trash company all around. DO NOT RENT ANYTHING RUN BY THEM! Never returns phone calls. Doesn't care about security doors being wedged open. Trash all over. Drugs and crime in the building. Loud obnoxious neighbors. None of these things they care about. Do your research before renting. read more

They purchased the building my apartment is in when they bought hundreds of properties around the state all at once. They obviously bit off more than they could handle, as they couldn't manage all of the maintenance requests. The folks at the office even said as much with statements like, we don't have enough maintenance people to get over there in the next couple of days. I had hoped they'd get it together as time passed on, but not in the cards. I know my neighbors have had issues as well, but as for me, since they've taken over, I've had 4 leaks in the ceiling from an upstairs apartment, a leak from the roof, a bad water heater, and a broken drain pipe. The fastest they were able to fix anything was a full week for the broken drain pipe. All the ceiling leaks were (and are, since I have one that hasn't been fixed) have been in roughly the same area, so my floor is permanently warped/water damaged. The roof was leaking for about 3 months, and they didn't get it fixed until after I lodged a complaint with the city for substandard housing. The excuse I got was that they couldn't find a contractor to do a partial repair of the roof, so they were just going to wait until they could, residents and city ordinances be damned. They seem to have stopped snow removal all together this year, so whoever was complaining about poor snow removal had it comparatively good. To sum it up, slum lords. read more

do not rent from this company. Horrible horrible HORRIBLE! My building was taken over by peregrine almost a year ago & ever since the issues in my apartment have gotten bad to worse. I have two leaks in my living room that I sent request for for maintenance and it was never dealt with. I had brown water at one point that they also ignored for a month until I showed up at the main building in Rumford. My building had rats for months that EVERYBODY in my building has complained about for the past couple months. Every time I call & speak with someone they tell me that in their records the problem was resolved when they never were. If I could give them a negative star I would. read more

This company manages the building I work in. The hvac is inoperable every 2 months and it takes them days to patch the problem (I definitely wouldn't consider it FIXED given the frequency of occurrence) and there are no functioning windows in the office, so it gets pretty insufferable inside. Our office has had a water leak in the ceiling for months that is now growing mold, and they have been aware, but no one has ever come to fix it. This company is all about how much money they can make, they don't actually take care of your properties. Looks nice from the outside though! read more

Peregrine bought property that had been tenant in since 2010. Raised rent $250 upon purchase; raised rent $10 to $45 each year since. Not getting adequate notice of increases in time to find other housing. Management typically sends lease renewal out two weeks before it is due. Slick, sneaky, doesn't take care of buildings until there are several complaints and rental inspectors are called. Taken advantage of artificial market prices boosted by luxury apartment rent charges. their management company acts like a wall between owner and tenants. I am also in a property recently sold to Peregrine. I can vouch for them ignoring online service requests, which I thought was a great feature until you realize they are either not read or simply ignored. Snow removal has decreased in quality as well. Most of the parking lot is a sheet of ice, which is very dangerous when trying to navigate to your car, mailbox or dumpster. Ice on the stairs is removed, but the parking lot is dangerous, especially for the elderly residents. Looking for a new place as we speak! read more

I am in a property that Peregrine bought from a prior real estate firm and the property maintenance has been terrible. Since they took over and decided they didn't need an on site manager, one of the three dryers has been out of order for over a month, the recycling bin is often overflowing, and the place has lots of maintenance that isnt being done. They are not in the town where I live and they seem to be an absent landlord for the most part. I would not recommend getting a Peregrine property read more

I have lived in a building for 3 years that was bought by Peregrine about 6 months ago. I never had any problems before and always had courteous service from the previous landlord. Since the transition of ownership, the quality has decreased significantly. Peregrine changed the locks without alerting tenants, and several people including myself were locked out on a Friday night. Calling Peregrine is a waste and email is just as useless. They have an answering service that supposedly takes messages, but there is never a response. The service request function on their website is a complete joke. I put in service request oover 3 months ago and never got a reaponse. That service issue became critical this week due to it not being addressed yet. 3 urgent messages left with the answering service and 1 email with pictures of the damages over the last 4 days has produced 0 response. This company clearly does not care about their tenants nor the safety of their properties. Completely incompetent. Don't ever do business with them! read more
