They were not using disposable nail files, and there was visible nail dust everywhere from previous clients. It honestly made me very uncomfortable. After my manicure, I went to the reception desk to pay, and they tried to charge me $80. I asked how the price suddenly doubled, and the receptionist told me the nail tech had done a "strengthening treatment." The problem is that I never asked for it, and the technician never told me she was adding an extra service that would cost an additional $35. I explained that I was not going to pay $80 for a service that lasted exactly 37 minutes, especially when I had no idea whether any strengthening was actually done. I was working on my phone during the appointment and wasn't paying attention to every step. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the receptionist was incredibly rude and showed zero empathy. Her exact words were: "If you don't pay $80, I will call the police," and "I trust my technician that she did the strengthening, and you are nobody, I've never seen you before." One of her "solutions" was to completely remove the nails with the strengthening and redo them with just gel polish. That is honestly the most ridiculous solution for a business - the technician had already spent materials, time, and I had already spent my time there as well. I ended up sitting on the couch and waiting because I wanted the service I originally came for. After an hour and a half of arguing, they finally let me leave after charging me $60. And as you can see, the manicure started chipping in less than a week. This service is absolutely not worth the money they are trying to charge their guests, and the way they handle customers is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It turns out the previous place I'd been going to was filing my nail beds down too far and creating a "ring of fire" as they call it in nail world. Had I known I would be paying $175, I would have expected a much higher level of quality and durability. When I arrived for my appointment, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The nail technician I was scheduled with began my acrylic set, but as she started applying the acrylic, I noticed that my nails didn't look quite right. She reassured me that they would look better once they were shaped. Unfortunately, even after shaping, they still looked uneven and poorly done, almost like beginner level work. I asked if adding a chrome design might help improve the appearance, and while it did make them look slightly better, the acrylic color still didn't look right. At that point, I decided to let it go because I had already been there for nearly three hours. Less than two hours after leaving the salon, one nail broke off while I was driving, and another broke while opening a door. The following morning, I woke up to find two more nails had broken off at the exact spot where the tips had been glued. I contacted the nail technician, and she asked me to come back the following Saturday. During that visit, a manager assisted her with the repairs. I immediately noticed that the repaired nails were a different color and much thicker than the rest, apparently to prevent them from breaking again. However, the very next day, two of the original nails broke off as well. I'm writing this review because I'm extremely disappointed. I paid $175 for a set of nails that started breaking almost immediately. While the salon attempted to fix the issue, the problem continued. My nails are something I take pride in and one of the ways I treat myself each month. I never spend that much on a nail service, and to have paid that price only to end up with poor quality results is incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be returning to Nails With Finesse.
