Mr. Goodwin, the dapper proprietor of the establishment is a super cool, super chill gentleman who has an eye for fashion and takes really good care of his customers! He's like a modernized version of the monopoly guy, sans the pretentious monocle. That said, he's the dude who could pull off a top hat and monocle with the sophistication of not the monopoly guy!
This place is a small storefront just off Yakima Avenue, that apparently has been here for 20 years. He worked at Nordstrom for many years, and now has officially been open doing his own gig for longer than he worked at Nordstrom!
He specializes in helping gentlemen look their best. They carry an incredible selection of shirts, ties, pants, suits and accoutrements including hats, scarves and cuff links. Everything is custom tailored and included in the price - as he says, "This isn't men's warehouse"!
Everything here is definitely on the pricey end, but as with most things, you're paying for quality and for a bit of customization. It's the sort of place that when you stop by before a wedding or get together, he'll hook you up with exactly what you need and make sure you look like a boss doing it!
Perhaps the best thing about this place however, was the fact that while I was in there, there must've been five or seven people who wakes through that he knew by name and knew exactly the sort of stuff they'd be looking for. Is the big box stores continue to struggle, it's places like this they should continue to do well. Impeccable service, a great vibe, wonderful selection and a dude who's really paying attention and making sure he gets things right - hard to ask for anything more!
