This time when I got home I took a closer look at my toenails and saw they were sloppy around the edges and rough. They now charge to remove your polish which I've never seen before. This place does an absolutely amazing job. The workers there always go above and beyond my expectations. I usually get the gel manicure and it comes out fabulous! My cuticles are good and the gel polish last me for about 3 weeks! They recently started doing the dip powder and I love it. My nails have never looked so good! Their name is correct...my fingernails and toes always look perfect when I walk out of Perfect Nails. For artificial nails, call the morning ahead and make an appointment with Chile (as in pepper). He is fantastic and you will recognize his station by the chile peppers dangling from his work lamp. He also has a happy buddha sitting on his table. The pedicure stations are clean, regular mani's are cheap and you get a hand massage for like $12. They offer waxing but I just go for the nails. It is busy on the weekends and weekday afternoons so call ahead the morning of. read more

I've been visiting this joint since I moved on this side of town in 2006. One would think after as many years, gifts, personal info divulged, exchange of pets (they took my rabbit off my hands that was biting & had him another 3yrs :), etc. you'd have a friendship of sorts with the folks you've known for 7+ yrs right? Not really. Not sure if its the cultural barrier, too many clients they've got at any given time or what else. But I never quite felt comfortable here or felt like a valued & loyal customer. I know if I was running a salon & saw someone for nearly a decade I'd be thankful for their continued patronage. But these folks don't seem to notice or care about that core-to-the-success business value. They gibber on in Vietnamese saying who knows what (Re: Sienfeld?) even while you are talking which I find just rude... usually rushing through the task at hand. Personally I feel that a wax is something you just should not rush. When they can do my eyebrows in less than 3min because another client is 'waiting', the same way I've been 'waiting' & everyone else is always 'waiting' because appointments really are not what they do well....well I just would rather leave this to someone else...an aesthetician perhaps & pay a bit more. Appointments are the biggest thing, the etiquette of appointments is not to rush the client, there should be some measure of time in-between time so that your clients feel special & are getting their money-worth. If someone walks in (or 2-3 more folks as is often the case in the summertime & since they accept walk-ins) then the client (me) you are tending to should not feel hussled off & out to get to the next dollar sitting by the door. In addition, if I've an appointment at say, 15:30 & I walk in on time but there is another client being tended to until 15:45(ish)??!...It happened often & I find that unacceptable. I say this because once I was late for my appointment & they were phoning me upset I was stuck in traffic & 10 over my time. It should go both ways. Be sure to ask for your toenails to be filed straight across rather than cut into deep angles, this just causes in-growns & well, they're hoping you'll return to fix it! Its not just to give 2-starz because they really do good manis plus its a family-run gig & well, I've known them too long to do that, so the 3-starz is MY show of loyalty... read more

I am surprised this place hasn't received any reviews yet with how busy it can get. It is a small cozy place around the corner of the Sports and Wellness Center on Wyoming. There are only 3 employees, 2 women and 1 male. They have great personalities and easy to converse with. My lady to go to is Tiffany. She's always busy and works 7 days a week. I am very particular with what I like and sensitive to drilling; therefore I appreciate she takes the time to go slow and spend time perfecting my nails the way I exactly want it. Their prices are reasonable and she does not charge me extra for the clear gel topcoat, which makes the nails very shiny and helps with the color to last longer unlike how some of the other close by salons charge. I do not really get pedicures from here because they are very basic and do not have any special scrubs/treatments to add to the spa pedi. I would recommend this place as an appointment only due to the fact that people walk in frequently and often wait a long time. My major complaint is that they do not turn down walk ins and try to multitask resulting in pausing my service and making me or others wait. Tiffany will be moving around trying to do 3 peoples manicures and pedicures at the same time. I would be waiting for my nails to dry while she was buffing someone else's nails or doing nail art on someone's foot. I'm visiting family from out of town for the holidays and was looking for a nice manicure-pedicure experience. Since Perfect Nails was nearby and had such excellent reviews I called to make an appointment for my sister and me. We showed up as expected but there weren't any technicians free to see both of us. So, I chose my polish colors while my sister started a gel-manicure. While I waited, I sat in one of the pedicure chairs watching a distracting TV show about unsolved murders and wished that the salon atmosphere was more about quiet music and magazines to read. After about 15 minutes a woman who had been working on a client next to me started the water flowing and began my pedicure. Just after my technician started the water she asked me if I wanted a salt scrub for $5 more. I didn't understand if she was offering me a special pedicure treatment or if there were other pedicures I could choose from. At my home nail salon they have a 'lavender-chamomile pedi' a 'milk and honey pedi' a 'vanilla sugar pedi' etc. So, I asked her to tell me about the other pedicures they offered but she either didn't understand me or just was too flummoxed by my question to explain that they don't offer 'different' pedicures, just one type with salt as an added extra. I declined the salt scrub since I had just shaved and it would have been too painful. My technician did an OK job except that she cut my toenails much too short and got a little carried away with the file (pain). My toenails came out uneven, slanted oddly and too short. So, I was a little concerned about her ability to give a good manicure. After soaking my nails for five minutes she proceeded to clip the corners of my nails as she went around them to trim the cuticles. This seemed odd and I asked her not to do it on my other hand. Long story short, the pedicure was a disappointment and the manicure was just OK. I think for visitors they should have a 'menu of services' or something to look at and decide about pricing. I was disappointed that: 1. We weren't seen on time as expected. That's what appointments are for. 2. There was no menu of services or pricing. I was not surprised by the final price of my manicure-pedicure ($32.00) but my sister was taken by surprise by some undisclosed fees they charged her for the gel manicure. 3. I wish that my technician had better skills cutting and shaping toe nails. Obviously she hadn't much experience or she would have done a better job. 4. I would have appreciated my technician asking me how I wanted my fingernails shaped. I wanted squared off nails and I think that she was trying for an oval nail by clipping the corners. 5. When I go into a salon for a mani-pedi I'm going in to relax and enjoy being pampered for a short while. I don't want to watch TV or hear anything loud or distracting. I want peace and quiet and to be able to zone out. I usually pay about $50 at home for a manicure and pedicure and it's well worth it. I would rather pay more money for a better experience than to save $20 and walk away disappointed. read more

I love this place and Tiffany is amazing!! She was so accommodating and I really appreciated that she had me come in 15 minutes later than we originally planned so I didn't have to wait at all. I really appreciate that because other nail salons I've been to are not always so considerate of customers time. This place was a mistake. My daughter and I went in for pedicures and they used the same tools on her that they used on me. Makes me wonder who else these tools were used on. Place is a dump. Chairs are worn, lamps are hodgepodge. It doesn't seem like anyone cares and it shows. I was referred here and think that was also a mistake.To make matters worse they charged me $10 tax on a $63 tab which included a fee to remove polish (never paid that before). The manicure I received was ok, and they seem like a hard working bunch, but the facility is a bit run down. I wasn't confident of their hygiene practices, but worst was that I called for an appointment and still had to wait 20 minutes before getting started and even then, they (two of the four technicians there) were juggling me and with other clients. I get a clear solar overlaying my natural nails to allow to grow long without breaking. She knows just how I like them and she is very careful about not damaging my nails. They are quick and make your nails look beautiful and the owners speak perfect English which is a big plus when making request. If you have ingrown toenails this is the salon to go to. The pedicure was great. The manicure was awful. I asked Amy not to trim very much off and she cut them way too short. She cut the side nail edges, rather than file them. This left each and every nail with a weak stop. 4 nails so far have broken off at this weak spot. My nails are very strong and I have never had this issue before with a manicure. She used a very coarse file to shape the nail, which would be ok for the first go around. But should have finished up with a fine file. That left my nail edge rough and was catching on everything. I had to redo this when I got home. I always choose Gel polish because it lasts so long. It's only been 2 weeks the polish is chipping and cracking. A lot of the problems stem from not being able to communicate with the staff because of the language barrier. Since I was a walk-in I feel I was given to the most inexperienced manicurist. A friend recommended this place. I will not be returning and will not recommend. read more

I've been to several nail salons over the years and Perfect Nails is by far the best place I've got my nails done at and still is. The staff is very friendly and definitely good listeners. They take time to get to know you and make sure that you are comfortable. I had my fingers done by Tiffany and feet by Phil. They both did an outstanding job very satisfying perfect nails just like the store name They both were careful to not cut too close to my skin, the paint was well done, and they last for a good amount of time.
