***Late review and I no longer have pictures*** We went to Perfect Pet Salon for almost 2yrs. Lyla loved Stella and we loved how Stella groomed her! Stella seriously gave Lyla the best cuts in her life! However, one day it was taking a really long time for her appointment to be finished. It normally took 2-3hrs and this time we were at 5hrs+. When Lyla was finally done I went back to pick her up, and as always she looked beautiful so I paid, tipped and booked my next appointment. AND then Stella says she accidentally cut Lyla's ear. I said no big thing it happens BUT when I got home I realized Lyla was literally missing a slice of her ear! Her ear wasn't cut...a piece of her ear was cut off! This is why the appointment took a long time; an injury like this would be bleeding for quite some time. Totally unacceptable! She should've called me and told me BEFORE I paid and tipped her! Lyla also loves being groomed and does not struggle at all so such an accident should NOT have happened. We obviously cancelled our future appointment and will never again recommend this place. read more

We have been taking our puppy to this place. Sadly, during the last grooming session they have cut his private part pretty badly. No one notified us about it when we picked up our dog. About a day later we have noticed that the injured area is swollen and took him to the vet. We had to give him two kinds of medications (including) antibiotics AND A CONE for 10 DAYS just because someone was careless grooming him. The whole ordeal have cost over $300 and a lot of inconvenience for all of us. We are very disappointed that they did not say anything upon pickup. This is not an honest way to run a business. We will not take our dog back to this place! read more

Brought our 1 year old golden doodle in for her first grooming. She was ratty looking and needed a good haircut. We have never brought any of our dogs to a groomer so we were a bit nervous. Well, our concerns were needless. Riley came out looking amazing!! She was cut exactly how we requested. She had the full works. The bows in her hair was the topper! We took so many pictures of her new look. Everything was done professionally and loved that they took their time with our nervous pup. She was exhausted after such a long day and fell right asleep. She woke up today, happy and ready to play! The service was fantastic, prices are right in line and every pup that came out while we were there looked adorable! Stela did an amazing job on my Harvey! She made sure that she had my contact info, was informed of any of his allergies, and had a proper meet and greet with my puppy. She even gives them time to adjust to her and the new environment which is great since my dog is really shy. He looks so cute and smelled great!! I definitely recommend her! **update** all these years my one and only groomer for Harvey has been Stella. I only bring my dogs to Stella and all my family members bring theirs to her too! My beagle has a hard time letting anyone trim his nails but Stella seems to be his best friend! They are always happy to see her and let her clean them up which is a good sign. I would give this business a negative review if I could. One star is too high. My Westie was groomed there for the first time last month. I picked her up and noticed on our short drive home that something was wrong with her eye. She looked like she was winking. She wanted to keep her eye closed and was uncomfortable. I called the her veterinarian and they were able to get her in for an exam the first thing this morning. The doctor determined that my dog had a LARGE CORNEAL ULCERATION. I was not informed by the groomer that an accident had occurred. This was unethical and my poor dog was harmed, is in pain and this is costing a lot of money. read more

I took my small terrier mix dog was taken to this groomer 2 times. The first time we took him it was for a simple wash and trimming. He looked good so we decided to go again. The second time was for the same thing plus nail trimming and anal glands. When we picked our little guy, one of his eyes was swollen shut and he was extremely sedated like he had been drugged. I'm not saying she doped him up but he remained sedated for the rest of the night and part of the next day. The groomer said he probably soap in his eye. We took him to the vet and she said that's had a corneal abrasion and that soap was probably not the cause of his eye injury. He was treated with antibiotics and a head cone. I stayed in contact with the groomer. I sent her the doctors findings and the bill we had to pay. She never responded after that. She didn't even offer to pay a portion of the bill. We will not be returning to this groomer. read more

Update: we took our puppy for another grooming and we were told it was going to take about three hours. After four hours, we had not received a call yet. When we called the place, they didn't even know which one was our puppy. My bf went to the place to pick our puppy up since he had been there from 1pm to 5pm and when he picked him up, they had only bathe our puppy. They told us they were under staffed but we had the same issue last time so I'm guessing they always over book. read more

We recently rescued our shih tzu, who has behavioral/aggression when someone goes near his face (defensive and protective). Needless to say, I was super impressed with Stella--the dog groomer and owner. From the minute I brought my dog, Jax, in she was so kind and gentle with him. I knew Jax would be in good hands. She explained exactly what she would do with him and ensured it was to my liking. A few hours later, upon pickup, I was surprised to see what looked like a brand new pup waiting for me! I've brought Jax to many groomers before and they have always done a decent job. But Stella went above and beyond! I've never seen my dog so clean, white, and fluffy! His hair was cut so evenly and precise, you can definitely tell Stella really put effort and attention to the dogs she grooms! He came back smelling so fresh and he even had a little bow tie. What was most impressive is that Jax didn't seem anxious at all to leave the salon. He's usually in a rush to leave salons and tries to bolt out the door, but at Perfect Pet Salon, he seemed comfortable and happy which reassured me that Stella took great care with him. A bath, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning, and anal gland expressing for him was only $85! (He's a medium-sized dog.) Thats a deal! The last salon I went to was over $90 just for a bath and haircut, and they didn't do nearly as a good job as Stella did. I have taken my dog here a few times. The cut is always cute but I decided not to go back due to the exorbitant prices ($85 for a 13 lb cockapoo and $100 w tip). In any case, she contacted me directly and asked if I wanted to bring my dog in for grooming. I realized I didn't have a scheduled appointment with petsmart and it always takes awhile to get in, so I decided to take her up on her offer. When I brought my dog in, she said she was very busy that day and that it would take awhile. I was confused as to why she would reach out and schedule something when she was already very busy. It took her 5 hours. He looked cute, but he also had a nauseating scent and as soon as I smelled it, I remember it had happened the last time as well. I felt so bad for my dog because I can't imagine how overwhelming that scent is for him. Brought my toy poodle here for the first time, he looked and smelled great after. They got the matts out but kept length on fur to keep him warm and cleaned out his eyes and tear stains. The ears were cut into a "v shape" and are a little shorter than what I envisioned. I didn't know exactly what the shape was when groomer recommended but agreed to give it a try so it was my bad for not asking for a picture; he looks like a little polar bear which is cute for the season and the fur will grow back so it's all good. He was sent home happy with little holiday jacket. Making the appt online was simple; I appreciate being able to book the service at my leisure online instead of having to call during certain hours. Ive been having a hard time finding a good groomer around pleasant hill/Martinez area ((trust me I've been to many groomers)) so I thought I'd try Stella and she's AMAZING. You WILL NOT regret it! My dogs hair had lots of tangles and was Sooo mattered. I was actually really embarrassed I waited this long to get them groomed. I have been going to Stela for over six months now. During our recent visit, she called and told us that our dog had diarrhea and blood in the stool. I suddenly thought it was suspicious. Our standard poodle has always been an inside dog. We never took him to a dog daycare. I work remotely, so our dog is lucky that he always has someone with him. So I will know if he is having digestive issues or whatnot. I took a stool sample that day to the vet, and he is negative for any bacteria or parasites. However, the next day I noticed a bruise on his leg, and his ears were full of blood. We will be reporting this business!!! This place needs to be reprimanded and closed before other dogs are harmed. read more

How this place has so many 5 stars is disgusting. They speak very poor English and refuse to cut your dog the way you want to. My dog was there for six plus hours traumatized with bows tied to her ears with a tight rubberband without asking first. It took several hours and crying from my dog just to remove these. Oh and the best part, all of this for nearly $200?! Unacceptable, never coming here again and will never recommend. read more
