The bottom framing was starting to fall apart and I could hear it dragging on the road as I drove. I called last Wednesday morning to see if I could stop by for a quote as I was nearby. The front desk said yes. I drove up and Chris saw me and took a look at my car and knew immediately what part needed to be replaced. He showed me a print out of the part that he would be ordering as well as the price for the parts and labor. The breakdown of the pricing for both parts and labor were clear and I also felt that pricing was fair so I decided to proceed without a second opinion. (To be fair, this work is fairly simple.) Chris explained that he would be ordering the parts and then when it arrived, he would call me to schedule a time that I could bring the car back for the repair. He estimated the parts would arrive in 2-3 business days. (I did pay for the parts upfront.) Chris called me the following day to tell me that apparently Tesla has increased the price of the part I needed and he further explained that if he ordered it for me, Tesla was going to charge a $200 shipping fee. He recommended that I buy the part myself from Tesla service center and pick it up to avoid the $200 shipping fee. He explained exactly the part that I needed ("front aero shield") and how much it would cost from Tesla. I did a quick search online about ordering parts from Tesla and how to find the correct part. It didn't take much longer than 15 minutes before I had the part ordered. Tesla sent me a confirmation a few minutes later that I could go and pick it up. Picking up the part at Tesla was easy too. Then I called Chris back once I had picked up the part and he told me that I could go in the following day (Friday) at 9am (also convenient time for me) so he could repair it for me. He told me it would take about an hour. I show up on Friday on time, and Chris is ready. They got it done in about 30 minutes and charged me for 30 minutes of labor. They refunded me the difference for the extra I paid (since I had prepaid the part) and I already see it credited to my card. Overall, they were very easy to work with and communication was perfect. I had a fairly simple problem and they solved it for me within a matter of 3 days. I also very much appreciate Chris saving me $200 shipping fees. These are some honest people that I would love to do business with again when it's needed... nobody wants car troubles of course, but I am glad these guys are around if I need their help.

I Caution anyone planning to use Avenue Auto Body to Beware…read more This is my experience with this business: I had some damage to the front of my SUV which included a yellow paint transfer from bumping into a pole, which was unsightly. I got estimates from 4 different body shops specifically for "Cosmetic Only" work. My SUV is 12 years old and my plan is to drive it for another year before purchasing another vehicle. I also did not want to go through my insurance for the repair as that could cause my rate to go up and the repair was not major. I explained All of that very Explicitly and Clearly to Steve when I met with him and got an estimate at Avenue Auto Body, that all I wanted was a "Cosmetic" fix, remove the yellow paint and touch up the black paint. He gave me a quote of $800.00. That seemed fair to me so I left my vehicle with them to do the work and I went out of town the next day on a business trip. He estimated the time to do the work was about 3 days. I was out of town for a week. A few days later I got a call from Brian who told me that they needed to order some mounts for the bumper. He told me the price of the mounts, one was very inexpensive, the other several hundred dollars. I gave the OK for that but was not informed at that time that cost of the repair would be more. Literally Two days before my return I had another call from Brian explaining to me that they ordered the "wrong part" and needed to reorder it. Even More delay and I needed my vehicle upon my return so I asked him to please try to get the work done soon. The day after I returned I got a call telling me the repair was done and then informed me the cost of the work is $1407.00! Had I known that I wouldn't have used them for the work as the estimates I got from other body shops were much less than $1400.00. He then informed me if I chose to pay with credit card I would have to pay another 2% on top of it. I objected to all of that and informed Brian that I specifically told Steve who gave me the original estimate that I only wanted "Cosmetic" work. Brian responded I wouldn't want my bumper "hanging" which was a huge exaggeration because It wasn't "hanging". I wasn't in a head on collision, I bumped into a pole. They did not do what I asked for specifically but instead Up-charged me. I informed him that it is illegal to charge an additional percentage to customers who pay with credit card. I know this for a fact because I am a merchant and take credit cards in my business. He begrudgingly agreed to waive the 2% possibly because he knew that. At this point the work was done but not as I specifically requested - Cosmetic Only. To add further insult to injury the front of my SUV was still scuffed and unsightly. I called that to Steve's attention and he informed me angrily that they removed the yellow paint transfer from the accident but if they had done anything further "that would cost me a Whole Lot More Money! If I wasn't happy they could take out the new mounts and reinstall the old ones." Wow. Not only did I feel like I had been hijacked, but the lack of communication about the cost and hostile attitudes were stunning. The work had been done and I needed my car for work so I had to pay. Specifically the rule regarding extra fees: "Credit card processing fees must be included in all advertising, price displays and estimates. A business cannot simply add a new charge Afterward without having disclosed it as part of the transaction". So bottomline: there are many other auto repair shops and in my case I believe I was ripped off by Avenue Auto Body. So Beware.
