Our Tesla was rear ended by a Silverado, so basically, the license plate from the truck crumpled the trunk area like a tin can. Our AAA insurance claims adjustor referred us to Fix Auto for the repair. We had tried the first recommended shop, but they do not repair Teslas. Fix Auto waited for the parts to arrive before we brought the car in, and then they had the car for a week and a half. They completed the repair in excellent fashion, as far as we can tell, it looks great. The communication was excellent and friendly. It's easy to do business with them. Tesla repairs are expensive and our insurance carrier paid for this repair, so I can't comment on the value vs. other body shops since we did not obtain additional quotes. I was rear ended by a Tesla so I searched for a local body shop familiar with the Tesla insurance process and found Fix Auto in Redondo Beach. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I took my car in on July 15th and was helped by the general manager, Javier Vidaca. He was very friendly and helpful at the inspection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Javier asked if I intended to have the repairs completed and I assured him that it was my intention to have Fix Auto complete the repairs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He documented the damages and informed me that Tesla insurance company is very slow at responding, so I should expect a response within a month.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Javier submitted his estimate to Tesla and I waited a month like he had said. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Javier back today, 8/14 for an update and he said that if I did not hear back from Tesla I would need to follow up with them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if he would perform any follow up on the estimate he sent, but he said that Tesla would not respond to him if he did.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told him I still intended to have Fix Auto perform the job. My Tesla Model 3 was sideswiped by a distracted driver. I found this body shop listed as Tesla Certified so I brought it here for repairs. From the start, Javier and everyone at Fix Auto South Bay were very attentive and kind. I knew my car was in good hands for the duration of the repairs. The work they do is top notch and they are very efficient-- even with major repairs. The entire right side of my vehicle had to be replaced, alongside some repairs to frame damage that was found during the initial teardown. Essentially, they needed to take my entire car apart and put it back together. Even then, the fit and finish after repairs exceeded Tesla's factory fit and finish. Not to mention, they did this all within a month, from teardown, to repair, to paint, to pickup. This is my first experience with a body shop and I highly recommend this location. Some highlights: * Jesse went out of his way to ensure I had a comparable rental. * While the repair took some time (as is the case with all Tesla's - parts take a while), the team called me regularly with status updates to ensure I knew what was going on with the car and when to expect it. * The car's charge was maintained properly throughout the repair process. * The car came back immaculate aside from two things. Jesse immediately ordered the parts and told me when to come back (and fixed those parts on the spot). * I was given a lifetime warranty on everything that was worked on. I am glad I got the opportunity to write my 100th Yelp review for this gem of a place. First of all, I want to say, none of us ever want to be in a situation where we have to visit a body shop in the first place. But you know, life happens. That too when things happen for one of your valuable assets, it definitely is not a great place to be. Anyways, my Tesla vehicle took a hit on the driver sear rear when I was waiting in a parking lot and this person was backing up from his spot and didn't see that I was waiting. Mercury insurance is my insurance provider and I did a quick Yelp search for the best auto body shop near me for Tesla. The reviews were nothing but positive for this place and it is conveniently located close to the place where I live. Called them up for booking an appointment for the initial estimate and they gave me a date a week out. That was the best possible date I could get anyways, so I went ahead and booked it. Meanwhile, an assessor from Mercury was able to visit my home and record his side of damage assessment. Took the vehicle to Fix Auto on the day of appointment, the process was very smooth, they had all the information when I went there. Javier was the person assigned to me and he is godsend. He took quick pictures of the vehicle and gave me a brief overview on the process and helped me understand what is the best way to get my car fixed fast. He said he will be the one I will talk to throughout the process. There was certain delay before I could drop off my vehicle for actual service. This is because the other party initially disputed our claim that it is their fault but eventually his insurance State Farm came back agreed that it is their fault and they would bear all the expenses. So took the car back with another appointment to Fix Auto and Javier told me he will give my car back in two weeks. He was super helpful and always available when I had any questions. When he and his team inspected the vehicle deeper this time, they found more damages and issued a supplemental to my insurance company. Again, the assessor from Mercury went to the body shop and evaluated the supplemental. Finally, they approved it and within a week's time since I dropped my Vehicle, Javier calls me on a Friday evening around 6:30pm and said that I can pick up the vehicle and its all good to go. He said I can pickup anytime before 10pm. That way I can have my car for the weekend itself. So, I went to pickup my car, Javier gave me a complete tour of his body shop and showed me every step that my car or any car that would go through when it comes to his garage for repair. He need not do it, but he did so that he can tell me what it takes to get the cars out back in pristine condition as it comes out of the factory. He was kind enough to answer every single question I had and made sure that I left the place with complete confidence and peace of mind. He indicated that the repairs they do are warrantied for the lifetime of the vehicle. This is simply awesome. They are super busy and they have tons of Teslas in their garage all the time. Yet, Javier and their team are very kind and approachable. I cannot understand how someone with so much of workload can also be so patient and nice to their customers. Definitely deserve to be the one of the best Tesla Auto body shops around and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to take their cars repaired (even though as I originally said, I don't want anyone to be in this situation in the first place). I thanked Javier for delivering my vehicle early, but he thanked me for taking it early that way he can bring in and help more people who are waiting for getting their vehicles fixed. Fix Auto fixed the body but BROKE my car's computer! I-15 South on the way from Vegas I hit a tire in the #2 lane causing minor front-end damage - but because everything is made out of plastic and held together with plastic clips, the bumper and all the panels around it were dented, loose, broken, or ill-fitting. To make things worse, the tire had bounced up and scraped along the rear door. I made an appointment with Fix Auto and when I dropped off the car, was assigned a 'concierge' who examined the damage, explained their process, and made me feel I was leaving my car in totally capable, professional hands. When repairs took MUCH longer than promised they arranged for a free rental car for a few days. After 2 weeks I picked up the car and the body was beautiful BUT the 'Tire Pressure' and 'Vehicle Stability Assist' warning lights were showing and the back-up camera wasn't working. Also, the tires had been grossly over-inflated to ~42 psi. I reduced the pressure to the recommended 36 psi and performed a TPMS but the warning light still showed. I returned to Fix and they fixed the backup camera problem but other warning lights still showed. They said there was nothing they could do. I paid $200 to the Honda dealer for analysis and they said I needed to replace the 'VSA Modulater' at a cost of $2,800. Fix Auto refused to admit culpability. read more
