I was going to another tailor in Milpitas (which we'll remain nameless) for many years, and the economy drove me to look for a less expensive alternate. I checked this store out: very humble, vey quiet and the owner very attentive. I asked for pricing and she was very affordable - actually much less than I was paying at the other place for years! So I gave her a try, first a dress. She took it in on the sides and that came out fantastic. The true tests were my jeans/slacks. My issue is that my waist to hips ratio is va-va voom, so I typically need to get my pants altered at the waist, but it never really looks "perfect"... well, I was WRONG, Perfect Tailoring got it PERFECT and she really knows her stuff!! I highly recommend her to everyone I know!! and will continue taking my clothes there from now on!! I'm very glad I made the move!!! read more

The service and results are definitely worth 4 stars, but the turn-around time was awful. I came here on September 5th to get a dress hemmed, and a skirt and a pair of shorts taken in. The lady was very nice and efficient. She pinned each item perfectly and gave me a receipt for pickup on September 14th. Because of work, I was unable to get to the store until September 17th. Upon arrival, the only garment that was completely finished was the dress. The lady apologized, but she stated that the other garments would not be completed until the following week. The work itself was very average. I've had clothing altered elsewhere, and the results were fairly similar. It wasn't worth driving 10 miles out of my way to get my clothes altered here. All in all, if I was in Milpitas or if I had a difficult garment to alter, I would take it here. For basic items, I would rather go elsewhere that can complete the service in an efficient manner. read more

I went here to get my mother-of-the-groom dress altered two weeks before the wedding... I had already had it altered once by the tailor at the bridal store I purchased the dress from and it was still too big and boxy, I hated it. I found this tailor here on Yelp and she is AWESOME! She got the dress back to me in less than a week and to take in the sides, length, and shoulders she only charged me $30 and it fit like a glove. I came back the same day after I tried it on to have the sleeves made into 3/4 length and she had it back to me in two days without charging me... I have no words to say about how amazing she is. I brought in a leather skirt for her to bring in the waist with hesitation because of the material used to make it. Needless to say, she tailored it perfectly. When I brought it home, my sister couldn't tell that it was tailored at first. Not only did she hem all my slacks by the following morning, but she also did a great job. Amy's work really is perfect. She's the only person in the shop and is always swamped. (I don't think she can hire an assistant. I doubt that she owns the business.) I have never been able to get anything ready in less than a week, so I just plan accordingly. It's totally worth the wait and the price. I've had multiple alterations done over the past few years. Recently things haven't been ready when promised, but that's not my biggest complaint. I wanted a dress hemmed and when she was pinning it I mentioned that I thought it should be shorter and she insisted it was the correct length. If you're altering sleeves (of blazer with buttons), you should make sure you tell her exactly what you want since there are different ways to alter that and she might just assume you want the cheapest/simplest way. read more

I've been out in this area for work and needed a good tailor and relied on yelp for reviews. Well I found her. It's a one man shop over there, but that doesn't stop her from being super efficient and affordable. I've got multiple dresses and pants hemmed, and when I wasn't completely happy with an alteration she did, she actually reimbursed me for the cost of the dress and redid the alterations in the same day (and was happy to do it). I recently brought in a pair of shorts that needed to be made smaller to fit my waist and I hadn't realized she would be gone on vacation middle of the week. I may have come on an off day because the service was terrible, there was no interest in helping me and the women who appeared to be the owner was quick to brush me off and quite eager to help the man that walked in after me. My husband had great success in the past at this tailor but I'm thinking it may have changed hands since then? I needed some help deciding on how much to take in on a dress and there was a very blank look given and no feedback. I was hoping to get a little guidance assuming she was the expert. I was needing the work done in a few days and she said she was just too busy so it was an easy decision to take my items elsewhere. I should have gone with my gut feeling to begin with and not wasted the time trying on the items and just head to the exit. When someone is so dismissive and uninterested in helping me I rather not give them the business anyhow.
