He was very friendly and was able to get the work done right away. However, I made the mistake of not asking what he charged on the phone assuming that it would be in the neighborhood of what other plumbers charge I thought of $100 per hour. He worked almost two hours and I paid him nearly $500 or $250 per hour! I was quite shocked. A couple of days later my tenants asked me to come over to look at the toilet. Apparently it was swinging from side to side. It wasn't bolted down. Again I was shocked. For the amount of money I paid which was almost $500 I would expect a professional job. We were working on a big project doing a remodel breaking up concrete then he asked if I could finance a U-Haul so that he could haul the debris away. He ran off with the U-haul and ran the bill up to about $500 and left the U-Haul in front of his house I had to go back to retrieve it and the bank left me with a bill on the added non-payment for a U-Haul full of concrete it was ridiculous and caused me a lot of grief. There's not a lot of places in Vallejo that are gonna give you a fair deal on pulling a toilet after hours but tankless plumbing came in and did. They were quick, quiet and done in under an hour. They were also very clean. They explained everything going on and they gave me a quote for an up coming project I do need done to to happen to keep them or anyone from having to come back out in the long run. Daniel recently installed a couple lavatory faucets at a rental we own in Benicia. I normally do my own basic work like this particular job (while I hire out when more complex "rough plumbing" issues) but my tenants come first and I was busy with other responsibilities, so thought I would try Daniel after reading the other reviews (noting that some were not the best but most were at least good) as well as his well-written Craigslist ad, at the time this gave me hope he was competent enough at least for a simple job. What Daniel does not know is we own other properties. I was trying him out to establish a relationship and not just a one-off repair job. Daniel agreed to come later in the evening, which was appreciated since the job was somewhat a last minute need (our tenant was due any day with a new baby). So Daniel gets one positive point for at least showing up. The install was completed okay and was satisfactory. However, it was (in my opinion) an incomplete job as for some reason he did not offer me whether I wanted the downspouts and sink drain mechanisms I provided to be installed (I had assumed he would have installed in the first place, but apparently this is a standard "slap in the basics and forget discussing the details with the customer" business practice. In his defense, the drain actuators were going to need a counter top hole drilled, but again, he did not offer to do that work or advise either way (and charge me as I would expected) as an option, so odd and yes, I would have paid him for extra time (his charge was over $150/hr btw for a 45 minute on-site install time). So overall just odd behavior. I don't really know Daniel's normal actions and principles in operating a business, and maybe he had a long day and was tired, but it is why this review is being written. What gripes me most is that Daniel has kept the parts that he did not install, while he had said numerous times to me he would return the parts to the job site so I could complete his unfinished work (unfinished work is against basic values of doing a thorough job, do it right the first time or do not do it at all). Daniel went half way with me. It is now weeks later, I have left VM and texts and am still without the parts. I will continue to contact Daniel and perhaps he will provide an explanation for his inability to return what was promised, but for now I am thoroughly disappointed and cannot recommend Daniel for even just basic bread and butter repair work. He may be fine for large rough-in jobs, but if you have zero plumbing knowledge and want to feel you can trust a guy, be forewarned. I called because I had an urgent problem with my toilet it just started flooding out of no where. I was really stressed because I didn't know why this was happening and it came out of no where. Daniel arrived with in a short 45 minutes with and fixed it with a snake tool. Please don't use Daniel under any circumstance. He misdiagnosed a plumbing defect I had and gave me an estimate of $1,400 to replace a broken pipe. After replacing the pipe, the problem continued. I called him back to the site and he admitted that he didn't diagnose the problem accurately. He said there were additional breakages and I should pay him additional $1,200 to fix the breakages. To make matters worst, he abandoned the project. My tenant was without a working toilet for over 4 weeks through Memorial Day holiday. I hired another plumber who dug up the pipe Daniel replaced and told me that there weren't any additional breakages. Instead the leak was coming from the incorrectly attached pipe when Daniel replaced the pipe. Essentially, Daniel never tested his work to ensure an even and steady flow through the pipe he replaced before closing the dirt. I allowed him 4 weeks to correct his error but he wanted additional money and abandoned the project. He also stopped taking my calls. This is just very disappointing! Finally, I looked Daniel up in the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) and there is no license registered in his name or his business. I wouldn't have hired him if I knew he had no license. I have never been the one to write or leave reviews, but, in this case I must! My wife and I have been going on and off with our hot water. We converted from a tank water heater to a tankless water heater a year ago. I recently thought it was just the worst decision I've made in a long time. I called the company that installed my tankless because we were experiencing hot water for 5 minutes and then cold water for 5 minutes and-so-on. Well, we spent well over $6k for what I thought would be a great investment boy was I wrong! I called many other supposedly takagi made certified technicians/plumbers and neither could diagnose the problem properly. I googled " I need a perfect tankless plumber near me" Daniel came up in the search and by the way his company name is "perfect tankless plumbing" right away from the very minute we talked i could tell he was knowledgeable but I was still cautiously doubtful do to my past experiences. Daniel came over the next morning on time and he ran the water until he had a good understanding of what my family have been going through for the past year. It comes to find out that my exhaust vent wasn't properly venting and my gas was 1/2" and it needed to have 3/4". He proved it first with takagi guide manual and he called the customer technician guideline help. I needed no more convincing after that. It has been 2 weeks so far and no issues whatsoever. Not only is Daniel knowledgeable, transparent trust worthy but he's great at explaining the problem and solution in a way the regular person can totally understand.
