Horrific Experience: Refusal of Service, Extortion, and Harassment on a Police-Dispatched Call…read more My vehicle broke down on a restricted highway, and after a significant delay with an initial company (Gates Towing), a State Trooper officially dispatched Pullen's Towing with an ETA of 20-30 minutes, assuring me they would take my vehicle to my destination: Eastview Mall in Victor. ​The driver, Jacob, arrived about 30 minutes later. The service was immediately hostile and unprofessional: ​Refusal of Destination: I told Jacob I needed a tow to Eastview Mall in Victor. He flatly stated, "He's not going there tonight the best he can do is about an exit up." ​Undermining the Police: When I reminded him the Trooper had promised the tow to Victor, Jacob was disrespectful, responding: "The trooper would tell me anything I wanted to hear that doesn't mean that he has to do it." ​Price-Gouging: Jacob intimidated me into an unreasonable payment. He claimed he was going to charge me between $500 and $700, and that my insurance company would not reimburse it. He even boasted that if an insurance company called to offer their contracted rate of $210, he would just hang up on them. ​Harassment & Bogus Fee: Finally, Jacob was verbally abusive. He started making fun of me and then charge an immediate, unauthorized fee, saying I "owed him now $123 for having him come out there for something so ridiculous." ​This driver showed a complete disregard for customer safety and professional conduct, actively refusing service and extorting money far above the standard rate for a police-dispatched tow. Avoid this company. I am filing a formal complaint with the State Police regarding Jacob's conduct and his refusal to honor the authorized tow.

My son had already called AAA and engaged with local police but this company pulled up when he stepped away for 15 minutes and loaded the vehicle on the flatbed. When my son arrived and demanded they release his vehicle, they charged him $400 and took off, wheels spinning. Mind you this was in Syracuse. 40 minutes from Weedsport. They were preparing to bill him $800 to tow the vehicle to Weedsport when he only lives 1 mile down the road from the ditch that he ended up in. They are total scammers! Don't trust this company. They only have 3 stars anyway.

I told the dispatcher I had a sound check for a show, the parking garage nearby is closed, businesses were mostly closed and no one was in the lot, and had returned to check on it it -- he initially felt bad but then became rude, stating it was $425 and wouldn't budge on price. Keep in mind, city tows are $275. I got there after my show at 12:30am -- just a truck sitting at the gate, no light, no office. The kid there said he was just about to leave. I asked for a receipt by text and never received a response. I also asked for the contract between the property management co and Kosiken's, no response. They could have written a ticket or put a boot on. This is legal theft & coercion.

Story: The car broke down Thursday on the way home from work. We call this company who says no worries they can be there in an hour and that we don't have to stay with the car, just leave the key in it. I thought it was unusual to leave the keys but they assured us that they will be there ASAP to pick it up so we leave. This company "didn't feel like" picking up the car anymore so they call a second company to pick it up on their behalf. The second company gets a flat on the way there, so they cant pick it up, they call Epolitos back and tell them this and THEY DONT BOTHER TO GIVE US A CALL. The car sits on 81 overnight with the keys in it unbeknownst to us. We could have called another company? The next morning the second company tries to do the right thing and takes a new truck out to pick up the car, IT IS NOT THERE. The company calls Epolitos back again to tell them this, THEY DONT BOTHER TO GIVE US A CALL, AGAIN!. We go to call the mechanic the next day around lunch time for an update and that's how we find out the car never made it there. For the next 12 hours we had no idea where the car was, no one did. What we know now is that the Syracuse police department impounded the car sometime in the early morning. We found out about that after 5pm Friday night, when the impound lot was already closed for Labor Day Weekend. We called Epolitos back so many times to give them the chance to make this right and go pick up the car from the impound lot on Tuesday but EPOLITOS HAS NEVER CALLED US BACK. Now we are stuck with the ~$500 impound lot fee for the tow truck and daily rate over the holiday weekend. Plus the new tow truck company fee of ~$140 to pick the car up and actually bring it to the mechanic. Plus the cost of a rental car during all this ~$300 MORAL OF THE STORY: NEVER EVER use this company. EVER. I am leaving out the parts of Epolitos pretending his phone is broken, blocking our numbers, texting us instead of his friends ABOUT US. Not to mention refusing to pay anything from the impound lot or even trying to make it situation right by picking the car up from the impound lot.
