Atlantic Transmission is the WORST mechanic I ever used in my entire life. The transmission on my…read moreMercedes Benz died after 168,000 miles, so I called Atlantic Transmission, and Becky answered. She told me to bring the car in for a "free estimate." I took it in and asked Mark, the owner, to assess the transmission and give me his honest opinion on whether the car was worth fixing. I explained that I was debating whether to fix the transmission or buy a new car. I then asked him for a ballpark estimate of the cost to fix my transmission, both the best-case and worst-case scenarios. Mark's initial quote was "between $1,800 and $3,500." I left the car with them, and a few days later, I got a call from Mark saying I needed a rebuilt transmission, and it would cost $4,500, plus fluids. I asked him again if it was worth fixing, and he assured me it was the right decision. Trusting Mark's advice, I gave the go-ahead to fix it.(HUGE MISTAKE TRUSTING MARK). Several weeks later, Becky called to inform me that the rebuilt transmission had been installed, but the car now needed a "conductor plate," which she explained is the computer that tells the transmission when to shift. She said but first, Mark required payment of the initial $4,700 (including $200 for Fluids) because the rebuild was done. However if I wanted the car to actually shift, I would need to buy this "plate." I asked if the car worked, and she said, "No." She reiterated that I needed to come in and pay because they had installed the rebuilt transmission. When I went to pay, I found out they don't accept credit cards--only cash or debit, which I later realized was intentional so you can't dispute the charge. We discussed the new "plate" further, and Becky mentioned it was very expensive, around $3,500 from Mercedes, but she could get one from China for $1,000, though it would take three weeks to arrive. By this point, I had already been without a car for a month and was now being told it would take another month plus $1,000 to complete the process. Having already invested $4,700, I decided to spend the extra $1,000 in hopes of getting a working car, even if just for another year. I signed an estimate for the $1,000 to approve the "plate." A few days later, Mark called, saying, "Becky doesn't know what she's talking about." He explained the plate alone was $1,000, but with labor, it would actually cost around $1,800, peppering the conversation with F-Bombs. He said he'd call when the car was ready. The next call came sooner than expected, and Mark told me the transmission was fixed and shifting properly, but the engine was now misfiring, showing numerous codes, and they couldn't clear them or get the engine to run properly. I told him there were no engine codes before the transmission failed. Mark then raised his voice, shouting that he fixed the transmission and that he's a transmission repairman, not an engine mechanic. He claimed the car had all those misfire codes when it came in. I asked him why, if he knew about the engine misfires when I first inquired if the transmission was worth fixing, he didn't mention them? I would never have spent money fixing a car with a blown transmission and multiple engine codes. Mark suggested the misfires would be an "easy fix," but the bill for the plate was now $2,700! At this point, I was beyond furious. I went to the shop in person, and I negotiated the plate payment down to $2,100 in cash, bringing the total cost for the transmission repair to $6,800. I left the shop with a poorly running car and immediately took it to a local mechanic to address the engine misfires. That mechanic had the car for two weeks but couldn't clear the codes or identify the source of the misfires. I paid $360 for diagnostic time and took it to a second mechanic, who told me the car WAS NOT worth fixing even with the new transmission. I ended up trading in the car and got just $1,000 for it. Mark is unethical, dishonest and delivered the worst car mechanic experience in 40 years of owning cars! RUN AWAY FROM ATLANTIC TRANSMISSION, MARK & BECKY!

I didn't want to take the tire off due to being a right leg amputee and I really wasn't feeling up to doing all that, although I am able to (lazy). I spoke to the receptionist girl in the office and the owner Dave walked in and asked me where the car was located. I had it right out front of the shop and he jumped right on it and plugged the tire for me. Great service and great attitude there, I will be taking my business going forward. Dave is a really nice guy and when you go there make sure to check out all the family photos they have posted in the office lobby.

Had me out in about 30 minutes and $32 including tax for a patch and fluid top off. 2 of the 4 places I first tires said they don't do patches(it's a scam to sell you a new tire as patches are perfectly fine and been used over 100 years) I've sent a few other people there with positive experiences.

The AC wasn't cooling at all. He put in a little bit of freon and it became chilly. Because he spent only 15 minutes and used only a little freon he charged almost nothing!. I'm kind of pissed off because I know the owner of the shop for over 25 years and I've been going…read morethere for at least that long they repaired a water pump on my explorer which is a huge job $2,500 to be exact and when I found my axle nut loose I called to let Mike know right away he said his guys didn't do it without even asking because he says we don't have to loosen those to do that job now I'm no Ace mechanic but every video everything I research part of doing this job is to loosen the axle nuts to get a little bit of slack when doing this job and even if it wasn't he handled it wrong he could have said it wasn't us or it could have been us bring it in I'll tighten them. Instead he kept a grudge and here we are two years later where I have another huge job and denies working on my vehicle. Did I forget to mention that I used to work on cars so I kind of know what I'm talking about. So just a heads up if you still want to go back to the shop don't confront him on something that he's done wrong you'll be black balled
