I saw the Macbeth Photography station at Florida Blog Con and since I'd heard great things about them and seen their headshots around town I decided to take a turn. Let's be honest- the fact that I had taken the time to doll myself up for the conference was also a deciding factor... It was a quick shoot but as soon as I sat down that familiar, awkward sensation filled my body. Oh boy- I was going to waste some money on these because I look like a mouse caught in headlights (a mouse seems more appropriate than a deer...). Luckily Jim started giving me some direction right away and before I knew it he had captured a great set of images. The image I chose looked effortless, but what you don't see in that picture is the lighting set-up as well as the hostage negotiation it took to get me to look relaxed and natural. A lot of work goes in to those great shots you see on everyone's websites and LinkedIn profiles around town and if you find yourself thinking "Dang, that's a great picture!" there's a great chance Macbeth Photography is behind it. Pro-tip: Macbeth Photography hosts a First Friday photo experience every month with different themed backdrops every time. I've had the chance to go and not only are the backdrops FABULOUS, but his team is also incredibly warm and immediately puts you at ease. Plus- their downtown location (in the Kres building off Orange Ave) is pretty perfect and even boasts some life-sized Star Wars figures.

I found Melissa through online searching and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she responded to my inquiry for engagement photos. We met in person, checking out her portfolio and my husband and I agreed she was the style we were looking for. Getting our actual engagement shoot done was a bit of an adventure due to schedule conflicts and weather (yaaay, Texas!), but we got them done in the end and they turned out awesomely. Melissa was very sweet and professional throughout all of our communication. I had been using pinterest for ideas on poses for the wedding day and she was very open minded and flexible to the ideas I had. She even did a few of the ones I had on my pinterest page! :) Our photos were done within about 2 weeks from the wedding (some of my friends were waiting months for theirs, yuck!), and they were exactly what we hoped they'd be. They offer full packages that include exterior drone as well as interior and exterior photography. All of the photos were great. Unfortunately due to the weather and the nature of my listings I actually needed a reshoot. They were more than happy to accommodate at a reasonable rate. Then I realized they did portrait and brand photography as well! They offer both outdoor and indoor options and their studio setup is amazing! Located in creative village (so apropos), RTW has a guarded camera door so while in session you don't have to worry about the next customer walking into your session. I was thrilled that I was able to knock out both my families holiday photos and beginning of the year social photography all in one day. With my business still in its infant stages I don't have much time to put into Digital marketing especially during the holidays. E ended up wrapping up under an hour and a half. We live in Houston now, but when we got engaged last December, we immediately thought it would be romantic to have our engagement photos taken in Florida where we first met. We hired Rachel to do the job and could not be more pleased with the results! Our photoshoot with Rachel at Disney's Boardwalk captured the essence of both our past and our present perfectly. The images she took provide a feel for what it was like when my fiancé and I first met, while dually illustrating our love in the present. You can look at the images and see an element of who we are as a couple even if you have never met us. We could not be more pleased with the results, and feel that we have purchased a romantic piece of history to share with future generations.
