Gary is AWESOME!! If you need a muffler or exhaust work on your vehicle, GO SEE GARY at Performance Muffler, he will not disappoint! He installed a new, heavy duty muffler on my pick up truck. He fixed the mounts/hangers that were no longer attached. He reshaped the mouth of the tailpipe (it was a little bent out-of-shape). He bent the exhaust pipe back into the correct shape. He re-positioned the tailpipe back into the correct position. The previous owner of my truck had apparently backed into a high curb or some object and that caused all the damage. But Gary fixed everything! And he was fast, friendly, professional and did it for a good, fair price! I stood by and watched everything everything he did. He is a Master of his craft, obviously, after watching everything he did. Totally happy with his work. This is probably the best muffler shop in the North Hollywood / Los Angeles area. read more

I had recently bought a car that wasn't passing emissions due to a clogged catalytic converter. I purchased a cat from autozone and brought it over to get it installed. As I arrived, a kind gentleman greeted me and observed the cat I had bought from autozone. Before even lifting my car on the jacks, he realized the cat I had brought over was in fact the wrong one for the car. Luckily he had the one I needed in stock for cheaper than the ones parts stores had. He replaced the cat and did a great job. Very clean and organized shop. Will recommend to anyone. read more

My experience wasn't the greatest one. I had to come back several times to fix the alignment of my mufflers (one was sitting lower then the other one). I originally went there because they are highly rated. Being a car guy I know a lot about exhaust systems. I am happy now (they almost got a 1 star), only because one side settled at the same height after time (writing this review 1 year later). Gary is the cheapest option for exhaust mods in SFV and he does a great job. He didn't try charging me extra for his mistake (see King mufflers review). read more

Being a female I am always nervous to take my car in for any type of repair or service but with Performance Muffler I had no reason to be nervous. They didn't try to upsell me or sell me any unneeded services. Gary greeted me offered me coffee and gave me his honest advise about the services my car needed. Okay so this is my second review I think. I really don't take the time to do this but I had to leave a review for Gary and Performance Mufflers. First off, I ordered Headers for my 2015 Subaru BRZ and was very skeptical about where to get them installed because it's a high performance sports car. I found Gary's shop online and took a chance. I went to his place and he was so nice and very professional. He let me assist him in the installation of my header because I wanted to learn how to work on my car so I became his assistant and he was so nice in explaining what goes where and why this part belongs here and such. Anyway I'm not sure if this post is making any sense but I would recommend anyone that has muffler needs to go to him! He is so polite and kind and very knowledgable - once starting my car it sounded very bad and he assessed the situation and found there was a slight air leak and fixed it in seconds. My car sounds so good and is so deep and throaty and sounds better than a Ferrari 430, compliments of my amazing boxer engine! Price was very fair and half of what a tuning shop wanted to install my headers. Very blessed to have met Gary and very happy I Took a chance with Gary. Riley pulls so much harder now and feels amazing! read more
