    Work Order showing alignment check that was never done.

    I HAVE COMPLETELY LOST FAITH - see why below. Work Order RO Number 849553 Went to Performance Toyota on 9/14/2022 for a 10k mile free service maintenance for my wife's new Camry Hybrid. While waiting for service, her car still sitting in the parking lot and not yet having been reviewed by a technician, the service team said her car needed an alignment ($129.99). When pressed they stated this was a 'recommended Maintenance item'. As you can see from the attached image, the work order states an alignment check was done but refused. My first issue is - why they would recommend an alignment without bothering to check if the car actually needed this? My second issue is - why it was stated a four wheel alignment was performed when clearly they never checked prior to intake. Did they actually do this after the fact? Or are they just saying so, so when we declined it, some kind of 'gotcha' moment can be had in the future? This presents a serious issue - The Service Dept. trying to drum up business on unnecessary items and taking advantage of unknowing or uneducated consumers. I could understand if an alignment check was actually done but we were sitting in the waiting room and could see our car never left the parking spot we left it in prior to them trying to pump us for more money. I used to think the Performance Auto Group (Performance Toyota and Honda) were better than the other nightmare dealerships I have heard stories about or had direct experience with. My family, over the decades, have bought countless cars from them. This seriously disappointing, and is the reason I have and will continue to do everything I can myself. Performance - you have lost my trust, and I no longer see how you are any different. I never experience this kind of BS when I deal with service people, but the first time I encourage my wife to take charge in her auto care this is what happens. F- for absolute failure.

When we returned to the dealership to address this issue, the sales manager claimed that while most vehicles qualify for 1.9%, this particular vehicle is 2.9%. This was never disclosed to us during the purchase process. What makes this situation worse is that my uncle, who was involved in the purchase and has limited ability to read English, relied entirely on the verbal explanation provided by the dealership. It is unacceptable to give one set of information verbally and then present different terms in the written contract. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. If you do consider purchasing from them, make sure to carefully review all documents and confirm every detail in writing before leaving with the vehicle. Otherwise, you may face similar issues.
