Bought a car on Thursday, told me it would be ready by Saturday at the latest so i would have it for easter, Saturday they say no it won't be ready and maybe Monday, Monday morning I call and they say they don't know yet and they will let me know later, 4 pm they call and say it will be ready at 5:30. I show up at 5:30 to see the car had 7 miles added to the odometer and a damaged rim that was confirmed to not be there in the pictures of the car on their website. The closest gas station was 0.5 miles away... why was a sold car driven around downtown chicago for 7 miles and was the damaged rim the reason it wasn't ready Saturday? They said they would have the rim refinished but they are busy so they think maybe by Friday I will get the car. This means the best I can hope for is to get a vehicle 8 days after buying it and paying to have it insured... if the roles were reversed you can bet they would not be waiting 8 days for me to pay them for the car because they sure didn't wait 8 days to cash my check. read more

I purchased my used BMW X3 used in August of 2019 (my first luxury car). At the time, it had 11k miles. At 20k miles, it was due for an oil change. I took it to the dealer to have the oil change completed. By the end of my oil change visit I was charged $1,545 This included a 10% discount because I was surprised that a car with 20K miles would need so much work. The repairman indicated I needed 2 new tires. When I asked if I could take the car to Costco, he said I couldn't drive the vehicle due to it being unsafe to drive with the current tires. Needless to say, I was sold 2 "new" front tires. Unfortunately, one of the two tires was in fact not new and had a previous hole and plug in the tire. Sadly, I was sold a used tire. I have made multiple attempts to reach BMW and even attempted to contact the sales rep. No one from BMW has responded to my calls. If I get resolution, I will post an update on this review. Please use caution when working with these people to make sure the parts they install are new! The thing that scares me most is that I could have been in an accident because of the 'new' tire. This could have ended much worse. Likely, I will not be returning. I bought a certified car but as soon as I got in express way The car started shaking they had to replace 3 rims and tires which was a huge convenience. We asked for service report several times and they kept making excuses. We spoke to sales manager Sean Cuevas who was crass and cold he accused us of doing something to the car and when we asked for some type of consideration as we were limited with the loaner he was abrupt and made more accusations. We bought a new X7 from this location and, sadly, after just 6000 miles, we had to bring it in for service due to multiple errors popping up. Their service department made it easy and quick to get in, get a loaner and get out. Once they had the car they quickly diagnosed, addressed and fixed the issues. Car won't start. Called them just now (the Chicago Perillo facility) to send someone to jumpstart and assess if battery is revivable or dead. Am being told I need to get it to the facility myself - contact a towing service! I am leasing a 2020 X3 that is still under warranty. Perillo BMW refused to replace a defective key fob that had failed THREE times leaving my wife stranded each time. I took the vehicle to the service department twice, the battery was replaced, and I was told that it passed diagnostics. So I am just waiting for it to fail again. At least the service manager showed me how to access the vehicle with a dead key fob. I will not be doing business with Perillo BMW again. read more

I am a six time BMW owner but first time dealing with this dealership. During the purchase I was promised two key fob's on a used car. After the purchase the same evening when I returned to pick up the car I was told by the salesman that the car only has one key fob. After a brief conversation with him and a confirmation with his manager I was assured I would receive the second fob by way of them ordering one from BMW. After one month and numerous calls and an email to the manager about the status of the FOB, I was told..."we forgot to order", "it was ordered late from parts", "please confirm your address ", etc I still don't have the FOB. The manager never even had the decency to call me back. I guess he was too busy for me after all the check now cleared. I have contacted BMW of North America for help. The worst dealership I have dealt with ever, we are military service family and we are deployed in Guam, USA which unfortunately one of the many struggles that we face while here, a part from food, shortage in supplies, struggles in shipping, among others, we don't have many car options here, we saw the ad for a car we liked on Autotrader and sent an inquiry and then due to no response we called the dealership, from the first moment we called the agent was not nice , had a horrible attitude but we still made an offer to their used car, this was around 2am my time we suppose to get a call back and we had intermittent sleep through the night just waiting if the offer was accepted or not, in the meantime the internet sales rep sent a message so I called him back after hours spent waiting and told me his coworker was working on it , around 4 hours had passed to get an answer, I called the pre owned sales manager Sean Cueva directly at this point was after 5 hours of my offer, explained the situation, the bad responsiveness of their sales team and what we were struggling since we tried to buy a vehicle here but there was a recall on the braking system making the 2024 BMW X6 and X7 models not safe to drive so they couldn't deliver it until they figure out the solution. Sean Cuevas said he had spoken with the General manager and they said they want to keep the car local and they were not selling state side which was odd because they advertised they could ship the car and the amazing service they have to help customers like us that are out of state, a part of doing false advertising (which I'm going to report them for this) as well as reporting them with headquarters for the bad reputation they are putting on the BMW brand, they also LIED to us ... we asked some people to call from other states to see if they were able to sell the vehicle to them and they didn't had a problem in shipping the vehicle and sealing the deal. I will say one thing here. You're screwed right off the bat if your needed a new, certified or especially any used vehicle to purchase during the pandemic! Prices are absurd with less than stellar inventory selections. I know I over paid but had little choice in replacing my totaled BMW X5, thanks to inattentive high risk behavior in drivers! So, I bought a CPO 2019 BMW X5 here returned in from a lease. While a nicely equipped one, I'm happy with it. One word of caution here. Do NOT believe Perillo if any sales person or otherwise tells you that you'll get ANYTHING added on to the contract or NOT! I was wanting a BMW cargo mat for an agreed discount off the $214.00, and you can't get one anyway for perhaps months! Pandemic. Otherwise, I spend several hours on a Saturday trying and buying this X5. Eh... The customer service while nice to your face, it is so so here. Brought my X3 in because some warning codes on the dash. It ended up being wheel speed sensors. They quoted me about $1500 to fix. I declined but they still charged me over $200 just to read the codes. I have never had a dealer charge to read the codes before. read more

I really wish I could be writing a better review, however I simply cannot after the way I've been treated as a Perillo customer. I was in the market for my first brand new BMW - and Perillo had a vehicle that was optioned appropriately. After a little back and forth, we worked out a deal via email and I came in to buy the car. The buying process was pretty hassle free up to this point - until after we had signed all the paperwork and discovered that the new car I was sold had a couple of dents, touch up paint, and a scratch on it. To make a long story short - they offered to get the car fixed without offering any concession on their end, which ultimately takes time and a lot of unnecessary mileage on my new car as I live about 50 miles away. Once we were finally able to agree on a time, they had the car for a few days and fixed the blemishes on the car, albeit in a quick and less than perfect manner. They didn't even get the badging put back on the car correctly. I also emailed asking them to send me a breakdown of the financials on the deal, and essentially was told that "I'll never be able to compute the numbers, just enjoy your new car." I emailed one of the managers at Perillo BMW and have gotten Zero response in about a week. I guess they just don't care now that they've made the sale. For someone purchasing a new 5 series, they sure know how to make you feel like "Hey, we made a sale, now you're on your own." I've had better treatment from "run of the mill" vehicle brands. This is most certainly not the experience I expected to have when buying a luxury brand. read more

Went in to check out some CPO BMW's and to also get a remote programmed for the Saab I was planning on trading in. I pull into the parking lot and am quickly greeted by an acerbic man "no you can't park here for service, the Saab service is a block north!". I have to back up into Clark St traffic and drive a half a block. There are no doors or signs for the service department. I go into the VW dealer and they are nice enough to tell me where it is. I cross the street and still cannot find an entrance. Ask a couple guys working on windows and they tell me in broken English how to get in. Garage opens and an again greeted by a surly older man. "No, we can't program the remote, you must come back tomorrow and it's $90 even if we can't make it work". Ok then! I drive back to the lot and again am greeted by Mr. Friendly - this time I have to explain that I also wanted to look at purchasing a BMW, now he's more accommodating. Walk into the showroom and ask the first sales guy if he has time to show me a few cars that I'm interested in. He doesn't have time for me but finds a very nice older man that the first sales guy demeans. So douchey. Older sales guy is a real pro, shows me what's in stock and we test drive one that I liked (this is why I gave extra stars, for him, not the dealership). I had to run to get my kids and left him my info. No one followed up with me, which is odd from a car dealer. This was two weeks ago and still no contact. Well, they must have thought I was a tire kicker, which was their mistake as I purchased a comparable car yesterday from a dealer who took me seriously and worked with me. read more

The sales process was great. Alan educated us on the benefits of plug-in hybrids and we ended up going with the X5 45e. Alan was very fair during negotiations and walked us through the various options (financing, buying it outright, BMW owner-s choice). The sales process and the test drives were very nice. The car had to be ordered and took about 8ish weeks to deliver, upon delivery, we rearranged our schedules/plans with family to pick up the car before month-end as a favor to Alan. Sebastian was great and did all the financial transaction, advised us on which warrantees to buy without upselling. The experience went sour after the delivery of the car. - I had ordered roof rack with the car. On the date of delivery, the rack was not provided to us. I had to come back to Perillo during work hours only to find out the rack was sold to someone else. they had to re-order it and I have to come back another time to pick it up. - after buying it, we did a thorough check on the car after driving it home and noticed there were scratches on the bottom lip of the cargo door. someone (either during transport from factory to dealership or at the dealership) had dinged up the door and let customers (us) drive it home - for the cargo door, Alan arranged for the car to get worked on at the bodyshop, got us a courtesy car, and it would take 2-3 days. took the car in on a tuesday and got the car back on a Friday, and found out a part (car emblem) was not able to be delivered to the bodyshop. so we will have to bring the car back another time. - within 1 month of buying this new car, i have had to take time from my work day to go back to the dealership 4 time already. number 5 will be when the delivered part is available at the body shop. I asked Alan if there was anything the dealership could do for me for the inconvenience and trouble, and even mentioned we're looking to buy a cargo mat for the trunk. the response I received was that management approved 15% discount for the cargo mat, which equates to $30. I don't think I was being entitled when I felt very disrespected that I just spent almost $80K on a car, and had to spend my personal time on errors/problems that were/are no fault of my own, and am not experiencing the "BMW experience" that I had hoped for, especially at Perillo's in downtown Chicago. Especially surprising when compared to other customer experiences. For example, we spent a little over $3,000 on a travel package through Costco, there was a hiccup during our trip, and Costco proactively sent us a $200 Costco shop card. I just spent more than 20X that amount at Perillo, and their attempt at customer service was $30 and i had to ask. At this point, I just want to get past all of this and move on. Will be looking if I can get the X5 serviced at a diff BMW dealership in hopes of being treated like a valued BMW customer. read more

BEWARE IF YOU BUY A USED CAR HERE!!! You're not going to believe what MARK SCHNEIDER, Perillo's General Sales Manager told me. I purchased a used 2015 BMW w/ 57k miles. Within 2 weeks it started acting up. I scheduled a service call to find out what's wrong. Before the service appointment the car broke down leaving my son stranded on the highway in the middle of the night. I'm told the battery was dead and needed replaced, and the alternator also needed to be replaced to a sum of just under $3,000. The tow truck cost over $100. I PAID OVER 20k for this car for my 2 children. I asked that Perillo pay the cost of my battery and tow since I had owned the car for less than 1 month. I was told NO! Perillo's not going to cover the charge. I told Mark about the Consumer Fraud Act which protects consumers like us and the U.C.C. laws which also protect us from bad businesses. MARK SCHNEIDER told me this was my fault and I should talk to my lawyer. I told him I AM a lawyer. Not only did they lose what could have been a few years of service but lost me as a first time customer. Guess I'll call my attorney as he recommended. read more

A lot of the reviews below are highly emotional. I much prefer to simply share the facts and let you decide if it is worth buying your next vehicle at Perillo. First and foremost I purchased a used vehicle. It was a 2007 BMW with just over 88,000 miles on it. The buying process was as smooth as could be expected. I saw the car, test drove it, it was beautifully detailed and had it's obvious character marks from the years it been driven by it's one previous owner. We opened up the engine compartment, listened to it roar and the obvious next step was to talk about the car's history. Things during the sale were pretty easy, but pay attention to the next analysis of the car because this is where things got interesting a month later. I have an inspection report that is branded Perillo. There are three grades. A number 1 is good, 2 is acceptable and a 3 is service. The report runs over just about anything you could think of. The bumpers showed a 2 as they had quite a few dings on them (those character marks I talked about earlier) but nothing else was alarming. Specifically all leaks passed with a 1. As we talked about previous maintenance, we talked about 3 things that had been done to the car. When Perillo received the car, they had the leak in the oil housing "repaired." With this wealth of misinformation I purchased the car. I didn't haggle much. I didn't care to. I just wanted the car. It was beautiful as far I could see, it had been inspected at the dealerships request and I had paperwork documenting a repair. So I went home the proud owner of my first car since moving back to the city. A month later I took the BMW in for a brake fluid change as per the on board computer. I dropped it off in the morning and received a call in the afternoon. I was informed that the engine had several leaks which subsequently failed the car's inspection during the maintenance, one of which was the oil housing. Alarmed I informed the young man on the phone that I had purchased the car a month prior and that the salesmen told me that repair was taken care of. He didn't say much of anything and I asked if I'd get a copy of the report when picking up the car. When I picked up the car I did have to ask for the report again and the young man came out. Again I stressed to him that the repair was done prior to purchase from his own dealership. And again he didn't have much of anything to say and let me go on my way. Incredibly alarmed at this stage that I may be driving a bad car, I quickly requested the inspection of the car by an independent mechanic and another BMW dealership. Both verified two things: 1.) The oil housing gasket was indeed leaking. 2.) The oil housing gasket "repair" was not performed properly according to BMW spec. One of the inspections noted that the repair probably hadn't been done by a BMW mechanic. I settled on getting about $3,300 worth of work done at another BMW dealership whose inspection of the car yielded the following assessment: This BMW dealership said that given the engine oil leaks, they would've never even perused selling the car on their own lot. The car simply wouldn't have been worth the money given what they would've paid for the trade that the previous owner made and they would've been forced to send the car to auction. Each dealership, however, operates differently and BMW has no set standard by which they recommend selling used cars as dealerships are independent businesses. Armed with information I confronted Perillo on the issue. This is where things started to get interesting. I very quickly found out that Perillo does not perform inspections or repairs on low dollar, low margin cars. Instead they seek the services of a third party mechanic that inspects the vehicle and makes repairs. Up to this point, I had though Perillo BMW looked at the car and made the repair given all of the documentation was branded by them and I was never informed to the contrary. Furthermore, I never thought to ask as I was purchasing a BMW from a BMW dealership for a reason. They investigated my case and my request for them to kindly cover the cost of the seven hundred or so dollar repair for the documented leak that they claimed was fixed at their request prior to service. It is unfortunate that they denied my request and instead I was offered a detail by one gentlemen and a $200 service credit by another. They did say they intended to offer to buy back the car, but this was after I had already said I wasn't willing to give the car up. I'm simply sharing this experience so that hopefully in the future purchasers of what Perillo considers low dollar, low margin cars can ask all of the proper questions and have the car properly inspected to accurately identify the true condition of the car. It is unfortunate that these are questions that you even have to think of asking in the sales process of purchasing a BMW at a BMW dealership. But I guess that is simply the sad reality. read more

The inventory was large and we were treated nicely. Eddy helped us and he did a fantastic job! We found a car that we like but since it was pre-owned, there was a small dent in the back seat from a car seat or something. There were also very minor scratches. Eddy got the back car seat fixed, all scratches removed, and the car was nicely clean. The purchase process was an easy and smooth process. I Wish there was a Zero star! I went there in june 2015 for a brake fluid change. Thats it, nothing special. They quoted me $150, but charged me extra during checkout for actual parts and fluids ($150 was only labor) - should have just told me total amount before hand. BUT I was to drive across the country (chicago to san francisco) after the repair was done (and I made that clear to the bmw guys). And when I took back my car on saturday (only pickup available no repairs) then my car immediately showed me a red light saying stop the car immediately because 'brake fluid is extremely low' I contacted bmw they said they din't have technician in today (saturday) which I understand, but the fact was I only went there for fluid change and they messed that up! I was asked to bring back the vehicle on monday but not to drive back to the dealership - instead bmw Roadside assistance told me when there is a red warning light means you can't drive, so they got my vehicle towed back to the same place! When I went there i was very displeased. they fixed the issue (apparently only the sensor was disconnected - still not safe to drive without sensors!) and I got my full money refunded. I own a 2011 BMW 335i Coupe with 50,000 miles on the engine. I am the second owner having purchased the vehicle off-lease from the first owner with 14,000 miles after 3 years. The vehicle has been well-maintained with all regularly-scheduled maintenance complete and done on time by BMW dealerships. The car is in excellent shape and looks great. It has been gently driven, mostly highway - so much so that I am still on the original brakes. I love the car! So I was astonished when the car engine seized up while driving down a city street on a weekend afternoon in Chicago going about 35 mph. No warning lights of any sort. Just BAM! I had the car towed to Perillo BMW, who had been doing my service while I have been living in Chicago. After about 10 days of back and forth, BMW USA and Perillo agreed to replace the engine with just a small co-pay from me. Nobody can explain why the engine blew, but the maintenance records were complete (all BMW-certfied service and parts) and the vehicle looked to be extremely well-maintained. Also, I am of an age where it is unlikely that I had been driving the vehicle like a race car. BMW and Perillo really stepped up to the plate and proved the value of premium brands. The situation could have become unpleasant but they were consummate professionals - courteous and helpful at every turn. Israel Rodriguez (Perillo Service Director) and Angelo Montalbano (Perillo Service Consultant) at Perillo were particularly helpful. A loaner car was provided. Kudos to BMW USA and Perillo BMW for doing the right thing and delighting a longstanding BMW client. I am now more loyal to the brand than ever. read more

I recently purchased a 00 BMW M Roadster. The Radio needed a code to work. I contacted Perillo BMW and spoke to Angelo in the service department. I wasn't sure about the service because it was such an old car, but he scheduled an appointment for me to come in and got to work on the car himself. He came back 20 minutes later and said "no charge" and provided me with the code in case the car lost power again. Great experience and customer service. Service prices not reasonable compared to other BMW dealership prices. Under the guise of providing good service, they recommend all sorts of things that are not needed - when questioned, service managers agree that they are not needed. Example: your battery is 5yrs old and we recommend replacing - $595(!). Question: is there anything wrong with the battery. Answer: no. This is the second time I've left this dealership feeling nickel-and-dimed. I am not frugal by nature and happy to pay for good service and work. Where they really lost me though is when I got home and realised that they had branded my X5 with cheap plastic "Joe Perillo" license plate frames, suggesting that somehow I am interested in providing this dealership with free advertising everywhere I go. Can't say enough about how great my experience was here. I had my search narrowed down to a few vehicles and after going to a couple other dealers, I set up an appointment with Vanessa. When I walked in she was quick to greet me and had a car ready for a test drive. She was extremely knowledgeable and was quick to answer all of my questions. I had a tight window in order to get a car before having to leave on an extended trip. Sitting down after the test drive, Vanessa found the exact car that I wanted at another location and had it ready for me within a matter of days. Even after acquiring the vehicle, Vanessa continues to check in to make sure everything is going okay and see if I have any questions. Similarly, Sebastian made the leasing process a breeze. I came into Perillo BMW 1035 N Clark St with a flat tire on my 2021 X7 at 5pm on my way to the airport the EXCELLENT GUY ALEX PADALKO went the extra mile & showed care for me got my tire replaced & also approved for replacement under my warranty so I wouldn't have to pay because I was under such a slim timeframe!! GREAT GUY!! I'm sure to look for him ANY time I have to visit in the future!! That was VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! read more
