I love the vibe in this café, and I can't believe it's taken me so long to finally visit a Perkatory location. The staff was so nice and friendly, and we even laughed for a bit which was refreshing. I'm a sucker for seasonal or specialty drinks so the chocolate covered cherry latte immediately caught my eye. I got a large iced with regular milk. I can appreciate all of their different milk variations! The pistachio milk was suggested for me to try, but as a big hater of dates, I had to skip it. The latte was rich and a good quality coffee, so the drink went down very smooth. The maraschino cherries on top were a nice touch too. I love Perkatory period, but this location is great. It's smaller than some of the others, and the baked goods selection is less consistent, but those aren't even really negatives, just observations. Very friendly and the coffee is great. They make an excellent iced americano, so I'm happy (my fav). It's a welcoming and inclusive space. I always feel comfortable. Waking into Perkatory, my senses were immediately overwhelmed with the spicy, yet cinnamon-y, sweet aroma of something brewing in the air! Whatever it was, I wanted it!! Had a great time trying Perkatory for the first time! I went to their southington location and was immediately greeted by the staff, they're so lovely! I ordered myself a blueberry strawberry matcha (homemade syrup) and I was slightly underwhelmed by it. I felt like the fruit flavors weren't coming through as much as I'd hope but that's okay! I also got their summer tea special (blanking on the name) but it was hibiscus tea with coconut mango lemonade and i thought this drink was incredibly fun and creative! I'm a fan of spooky vibes, Halloween, skulls, and all things punk rock; this coffee shop showcases it in their decor and ambiance. They roast the coffee beans and have bags and merchandise to purchase in the shop. There were some seats inside, I'm sure it can get full during peak hours. This location was in a convenient location in a plaza with ample parking. When I went, there were a couple of people ahead of me. This gave me some time to look at their menu and specials. The customer service was friendly. I decided to get a medium iced blueberry pie latte; it tasted like blueberry and it was the perfect level of sweetness and blueberries. They've got some pretty solid baked goods; the oatmeal raisin vegan cookie is one of my favorite treats in town. What sets it apart for me are the staff, who are always pleasant, and the hours. Many local spots that are comparable close at 2pm, and sometimes you want something a little later! Also, for value, they're the only spot that offers punch cards for drinks and for bags of beans. More than once, that's gotten me to stop here over another location. Also, I love the vibe. I didn't know until today that Perkatory were in WeHa. I had told my boxing coach I needed a coffee after our earlier morning session and had mentioned driving down to Middletown because I wanted the Harry Potter drinks and he was like, why not go to the one a quarter of a mile down the road? So I did. Parking is a bit limited, but luckily I was able to snag a spot and head inside. It was a short 5 min wait to order and then another 5 mins til I got my coffee. Overall I'm giving 4/5 stars because I didn't really get what I ordered. The chocolate frog drink: good but needed a bit more flavor, and I had ordered it with whipped cream, so 7/10. The golden snitch, while it had good flavor, didn't have the edible glitter in it as advertised and I wouldn't have spent over $5 on it if I had known it wasn't coming with the glitter. Taste wise, 10/10. Overall experience with it, 0/10. (I take my double glitter seriously). The butter was delish but needed just a bit more butterscotch and whipped cream. 9 3/4 rating / 10. read more

It seemed like a good morning to visit Gastropark because the Small State Provision folks are back from vacation and selling their beautiful sourdough, cookies, scones, etc. right next to Perkatory. Also, Hot Taco Street Kitchen was there with some breakfast offerings. They seem to be there on a semi-regular basis for breakfast starting around 8 am, but check the schedule to be sure. I love to bundle visits. Perkatory just switched their seasonal Cold Brew to a dark roast Colombian. I'm not the biggest dark roast fan, but this one really hit me. It tasted like the high quality cocoa that tops some of the best tiramisu. Seriously - good stuff. Let me the pull the lever here. Ding! Five Star Upgrade! read more

I love Gastro Park, particularly on sunny days where it's pleasant to sit outside. I also love Perkatory Coffee, which is located at Gastro Park. It was a rainy day, so I couldn't enjoy my coffee outside as I'd normally prefer to do. Inside is pretty cool with all wood interior. The chairs aren't the comfiest, if you had to spend some time here. I've been to probably all locations of Perkatory Coffee, they make really tasty coffee, including the West Hartford location where I was today. Unfortunately it was pretty bad today. I got the Peppermint White Mocha, that they had advertised. It was super, super sweet, undrinkable sweet. All I could taste was 50 spoons of sugar. I know this was a fluke today, as I've always had delighfuly delicious coffee at Perkatory. So I'll give them 4 stars, one off for today's unfortunate case of Peppermint White Mocha. Oh the pumpkin king latte, a combination of pumpkin spice, maple syrup, cinnamon brown sugar, and your choice of milk was possibly the best version of the pumpkin spice latte I have ever had! I chose to get a decaf version with oat milk served hot. The drink was not sickeningly sweet, but instead perfectly balanced between the different flavors and very smooth. Paired with a baked good from the shop next-door, this drink was a nice fall treat! The barista was super friendly and patient, as they explained the nuances of every drink, and the deep discount for bringing your own cup is very much appreciated! I enjoyed my drink outside at one of the picnic tables in the Gastro park. There were lots of wasps around, however I was able to avoid these by staying in the shade. Lately I've been mentally checking for if Perkatory is open if I'm heading to this side of the river. It's because I've been consistently craving their coffee. Once I tried Perkatory Roasters at Gastropark, I knew I needed to come back and get more. They are truly my caffeine dealers (as the sign outside states). My go to coffee is an iced latte with sugar free vanilla, mocha, and oat milk. I can trust that everything is high quality in their handcraft artisan roasted coffee. For non-coffee options, I really enjoyed the dragon berry sparkler at the west hartford location only, and the hibiscus berry iced tea. I'll walk out of here with multiple drinks in hand as a result. With monthly specials to look forward to (which spread across all their locations) I'll always have something new to try! I love the punk rock vibe and art of the Perkatory brand. The staff is also friendly and accommodating. My dad usually likes his drip coffee in a very specific way and they were able to meet his needs. When I forgot my coffee order at one point they were able to help me remember it always going forward. I'll keep looking for more excuses to get Perkatory coffee! read more

Yoooooo, this is THE PLACE for insanely amazing coffee. I also dig the vibe, style and logo for the company. Everything I've had here- lattes, cold brews, chai teas, specialty drinks- has been super delicious. Their most recent drink- the cold brew one with the blackberry foam- is what made me think "You should drop that place a review." It is out of this world good. I actually crave it. Besides the fact that the drinks are the shiiiiit, the baristas at the West Hartford one are so freaking nice, too. Shout out to the dude that's always there and always in a good mood, and the woman who is usually on shift with him- they are super kind...a great duo. The only downside is that it is not the cheapest coffee, but then again, all speciality coffee isn't, and you truly get what you pay for here. It's worth it. The tip jars are also fun and funny. We went on a Saturday afternoon was it was BUSY - but nonetheless the staff did a marvelous job navigating orders and somehow making drinks super quickly! We were in Hartford moving our daughter into college. My husband needed a pick me up and kill a little time before going back to meet our daughter for dinner and found Perkatory. I had an iced cold brew with vanilla and it was not sweet but I could taste the vanilla and I loved that the barista asked if he had poured enough half/half into my cup. He did and it was perfectly smooth sip of cold brew. My husband got the an espresso soda that he said the espresso was made well and it was very refreshing. There is seating inside if you wanted to keep that coffee shop vibe and get some work done or meet a friend for coffee. They have short hours, as most coffee shops do, but an iced latte was the perfect ending to an afternoon of drinks and food. On weekends, they are open until 4 which is perfect for that midday pick-me-up after you've binged on food truck grub. Almost the same menu as all the other locations and staff is just as friendly!
