Bourbon vanilla bean hot coffee and a maple syrup coffee with a pumpkin walnut muffin . Each coffee definitely has their own unique flavor notes along with their house made syrups. Couldn't resist a chocolate chip cookie with sea salt . The ambiance is very chill and aid back with access to the bar (when open) AND is dog friendly I got a blend of two coffees with a flavor syrup, so the flavors were a bit everywhere on my palate. Next time I will try no flavor syrups to get the full coffee flavor

A friend of mine had been on a coffee tour as of late and I came across this place because I was searching for a place nearby where she was gonna be at. I also heard from another friend that she had been recently and she said nothing but good things so it was worth checking out! They had various selections from their specials, hot drinks and cold drinks. They also have pastries to accompany your coffee or other beverage. Couldn't have asked for more. The person at the register was very patient with us cause we couldn't decide what to get. She was also sweet and told us we could dine at the brewing side too. I'm in love with the decor! It's really cute. I could tell they put a lot of thought into it the details. I had their hot chocolate, a peach banana smoothie with all spice and a donut. Yum!! While my friends tried their coffee, some with lavender honey and accompanied with muffins and banana bread. Every sip & bite was savored! Thank you for having us!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. The brewery side is awesome, so I had high hopes for the coffee side. Not a great first impression, but there's a couple of items that caught my eye for a future visit. The first thing I always try at any new place I visit, is their mocha. It was a no from me. If I were to have tried this blindfolded, I wouldn't have guessed it was a mocha. It was like they forgot to add the chocolate element. I had the small, and it was bitter. My son, however, got the large, and it was actually alright. They don't make their own baked goods, and it's good to know that when I'm craving a Neil's donut, I can drive 5 minutes to get me in. A huge plus! We also got the blueberry muffin, which is from Small State Provisions. OMG! Probably the best muffins I've had in a long time! Overall, it's a great vibe, not much indoor seating. We've only interacted with one barista. Not a great first impression, but she warmed up as we grabbed another muffin for the road. We will be back to try their Chaider!

Cool coffee shop next to it's own beer brewery which makes this place twice as cool having all the brews, coffee was good and the service was friendly, coffee shop was small with few tables but the restaurant/beer brewery side looked much bigger, ambiance was laid back would come again

I finally made my way to Alvarium Roasting Company this weekend. I've been to their brewery many times, but any time I tried going to the coffee part of it, it was closed. This is such a cute space, it's very small, with only about two tables, but they have some picnic style tables if you prefer to be outside. I noticed they have the honey comb pattern that's mirroring the one in the brewery. Who ever designed this is a genious! They currently have a menu of their summer coffee drinks. I went with Pawsh Spice. The girl blended and crafted it as if it's an alcoholic cocktail. Pawsh Spice was absolutely delicious! It had cinnamon and brown sugar and espresso. I can only imagine how delightful it would be hot, on a cold day. I typically don't do espresso, but this one felt like a coffee, not an espresso. I'm so happy I finally got to try Alvarium's coffee. I wasn't expecting anything less than great, after having tried several of their beers. Alvarium Roasting is also at Gastro Park.

I haven't been to the Alvarium Brewery in a while. I assume that's why I wasn't aware they were starting a sister coffee company -- Alvarium Roasting Co. I found an Instagram announcement concerning Alvarium Roasting's Grand Opening on a different business's web page. Since I live nearby, I knew where I was getting my iced coffee Friday morning. The coffee shop is in the same building as the brewery, but it has separate space. You can drink your coffee on "the B-Side", which has plenty of cafe style seating. It might be a quiet place to work for a while. Alvarium sells bags of beans that it roasts. On their website, I noticed Blend Names like Apiary (a Dark Blend with a mix of a Brazilian Nautral and a Papua New Guinea), Arctos Blend (a Medium Roast Blend with Mexican and Guatemalan beans), and Phresh Spro (an Espresso Blend). I did not notice Single Origins referenced on the Website. I'll give Alvarium a pass on that since they're early in their run. If they don't have interesting Single Origins 6 months from now, that would be a negative for me. Alvarium also sells various hot and cold coffee and other beverages on site, where it opened at 6 a.m. on the Friday I visited. The website says that they make syrups such as caramel, cinnamon and spiced ginger in house. I am a cold coffee drinker #teamcoldcoffee . I ordered a large Black Iced Coffee. Alvarium uses its Stinger Cold Brew Blend, which is a mix of Honduran and Guatemalan beans. The Website suggested that the Blend is strong ("packs a serious punch", "keep you going all day and long into the evening"). The website lists toffee, brown sugar and clementine as tasting notes. I didn't pick up those notes, but it was a smooth, balanced cup with a medium roast profile. I also ordered a specialty iced coffee drink they call Pawsh. It had espresso, my choice of almond milk, cinnamon and sweet flavors and it was topped with chocolate. It had good balanced flavor and I would order it again. Alvarium is off to a good start and is worth checking out. Four Stars

I really like this tiny coffee shop in the area!Much needed in this part of town!My hot decaffeinated cup was perfect and I can't wait to try some donuts next time.Service is always great and the ambiance is always very friendly.Love when they have the food trucks coming for lunch. My only suggestion was a couple egg sandwiches for breakfast and I know they are working on that.

Upgrading to 5 stars because Alvarium Roasting is clearly doing something special. They treat their coffee like craft cocktails, experimenting with flavors to give you a truly incredible experience. All their syrups are housemade and you can tell the care and precision that goes into each cup. Truly magical! There are very few coffee shops in CT that are making their own syrups and doing things the way Alvarium does and it's now what sets them apart! They have easily become part of my top 3 coffee shops. Get here if you haven't already!!

(Get there early cuz they go fast) The coffee roll!!... just get it!!! You'll be happy you did, but, now you're addicted to Alvarium coffee with a Neil's coffee roll. Bring friends to share this awesome coffee and treats!!

They have plenty of seating, some upholstered furniture and we saw a few Friday morning telecommuters working on their laptops and sipping their coffees. Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. So the next time we're looking for a midday break or afternoon pick-me-up..... I know a guy!

He can be currently found at the very unique space combining dance and drinking coffee, Garage Dance Studio & Coffee Lounge. While the dance studio and the coffee lounge share the same space, they don't share the same hours of operation. I was here a few months ago, to find the coffee portion in the dark and the dance floor in full bloom! I came again yesterday afternoon, to find the opposite. This time the coffee lounge was open, and no one was on the dance floor. The inside is set to look like you're in somewhere in Madrid amongst the colorful buildings, where the tables are all adorned with red tablecloths. Of course, the barista working was Taki Tanaka. We chatted briefly and he made me the most delightful Honey Fig Latte. It was creamy, foamy, with a beautiful rose art design he hand poured himself. This was mildly sweet, rich in coffee, utterly satisfying with each sip. I just wish there was dance to see.

The barista then came into the lobby, closed the door, and smiled directly at me, which made me think she was returning to prepare my drinks. Instead, she picked up both tickets, looked at them, and threw them away without starting my order. She then began cleaning the machines and eventually went to the back, leaving me waiting for about 20 minutes with no update. When she returned, I asked for a refund since I needed to leave. Rather than processing it, she repeatedly insisted on making the drink, even after I clearly said I preferred a refund. She told me she would process my refund. Two days later the charge went through. The interaction felt confusing and poorly handled. I completed their survey, submitted a comment via their website, and sent them a Yelp message. Well, the website said they were New York bagels(from my ancestral home, The Bronx), so I thought they might be exceptionally good. Nope. First the good--the decaf Cappuccino was exceptional. Good espresso base, nice foam. It couldn't have been better. Now, about the bagel. Not much variety; only plain or everything. They asked if I wanted it "warmed." I suspected that meant "in a microwave" so I said if it was fresh, I didn't need it warmed. When the bagel arrived, it was ice cold. Must have been kept in a fridge, which doesn't help the taste or texture of baked goods. Because of that, it did not seem particularly fresh. It was certainly not like the New York bagels of my childhood, unless you compare it to prepackaged commercial bagels (like Lenders). The staff was professional and helpful, and was glad to explain what was or wasn't available. Service was prompt. I'm sure I'll go back another time and try the beignets.

Hot tramp, I love you so" (David Bowie) After a morning appointment in Farmington, we were both in the mood to stop somewhere for breakfast. That gave us the perfect opportunity to stop at a place we've driven by a zillion times. Rebel Dog Coffee's area shops have been on our radar for years, and yesterday we finally checked their Farmington location. It's in a strip mall shopping plaza right next to a Nardelli's more or less where Route 6 crosses Fienneman Road/Birdseye Road. Their Dog Pack has four Rebel Dog members spread out around the Greater Hartford area and some of their coffees can be found in local supermarkets. Their Farmington store is very large and comfortable, with plenty of space between the customer tables. The dining room was fairly crowded when we arrived, with people socializing and banging away on their laptops. Rebel Dog has a very deep offering of coffee drinks and food choices, Want a coffee? Well, you best be ready to choose among single or double espressos (with or without foam of whipped cream or steamed milk, lattes. Cappuccinos, mochas, and Americanos, light-dark-or decaf drip coffees, French Press, Pour Overs, teas, jot chocolates and a ton more. You can even get a growler of coffee, tea, or kombucha. I never saw that before. Now, what good is a morning coffee without something to munch alongside it? No worries, because the Dog has you covered with everything from "Build Your Own" breakfast sandwiches, six egg Benedicts, oatmeal, yogurt & granola, fruit cups, and pastries. If you arrive later in the day, your options might include soups, salads, sandwiches, grilled cheese and burgers. Our breakfast order was a cup of their Steady Habits light house blend (a medium-light roast, smooth and sweet with notes of roasted nuts, fig, and caramel), a cup of their Big Red Truck Dark Roast (a blend of both washed process and natural process Colombian coffees for a rich and layered coffee with notes of dark chocolate, crème brûlée, and warm spices), a "build Your Own" Breakfast Bagel Sandwich and an order of Avocado Toast. With tax and tip, everything totaled under $25. The sandwich we built contained ham and an egg on an Everything Bagel and we had zero complaints about it. My Avocado Toast (no added egg or protein) was wonderful. It was a thick slice of homemade multigrain bread topped with a very generous blanket of smashed avocado. We could not have been happier with our first encounter with a Rebel Dog.
