Looking for coffee and found this place. Came in on a Thursday around 9am. Store is very classy looking and clean. Our order taker was friendly. Ordered the nitro cold brew-yum, iced americano-good, rose cardamom latte-fantastic! Exactly as imagined! (had to try the syrups as they are listed as homemade!) Coffees were good. This is the cutest café I've seen in a bit! From my understanding, they just completed a remodel and it is absolutely gorgeous inside. The space is also very big and has plenty of outlets, which is perfect for people looking to work from a device. We got inside when the line was pretty short, so everything was quick. by the time we sat down, there was a line to order for sure but the staff moved it pretty quickly! I immediately needed their mango sticky rice latte once I saw it on TikTok. I love a sweet coffee, but this was just the right amount of sweet, light, and caffeinated. Their coffee is really really good and you could taste that through the cold foam and syrup. I also grabbed their carrot cake, which is definitely huge and good to split between two people... but no judgment if you need a private moment alone with it and a fork. This place has always been stellar from the day they opened. The owner is so warm and welcoming and he uses the best beans (his family has run coffee shops in New York for years). They offer Christmas/winter specials and even had pumpkin spice latte still available ( which I love !!! ) However I opted for the s'mores latte ( the only thing I love more than pumpkin spice ) And it was AMAZING ! highly recommend ! Great pit stop right off the highway. Got the seasonal lavender latte (house made!) and an egg and cheese sandwich on a roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. The iced coffee with caramel was also super fresh. Will definitely stop here again next time we pass through. read more

I come to this location from time to time, and I find their coffee and bakery items very good. Service is always friendly and coffee is well balanced. They have taken great strides from the first time I've reviewed them, and it's good to see a local business thriving. The only issue I've had at this location is I have yet to find that coffee roast that's my go-to. The cafe is great, the service and owner are very nice, but there isn't a specific style of roast that's too good to not have. Their coffee is good, strong and mellow for their medium roasts, fruity and acidic for their light brew, but none hit those deep chocolate notes I aim for. A coffee flight option would be handy, so I could sample more of their new offerings besides getting full pounds. Then once I find that winner then I can start getting stocked up. This was the perfect spot to stop for a coffee! Located not far from the highway so we could stop without adding much time to our travel. The amount of special/seasonal drinks is what caught our eye. So many in fact it was difficult for my wife to pick just one. We needed an early afternoon pick me up due to the fact we skipped morning coffee and had been on the road. The staff greeted us right away which was nice. They have some tables and a window bar style of seating as well. The wall was full of I assume local artists work which is a great way for a business to support others. Both their Girl Scout Cookie and Honey Bomb iced drinks were phenomenal especially with the addition of flavored cold foams. The place was small but I always stop for a coffee roasters. I got the breakfast bundle so a turkey, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and a drip coffee. There was no cream out for the coffee so I had to ask and the service was slow. The food was not great and the coffee was not good. I would avoid going here for anything. read more

Coffee was good and I stopped by today to dine and chat with a friend. Note that the establishment is pretty cold and when I left, I noticed that my stuff all smelled pretty strongly of coffee! The coffee smell is worth considering if you have someplace important to be... and plan to hang here or a bit! (It's clear they really do roast on-site!) The staff talked for a long time about how their tips were stolen and I couldn't help listening in. Not sure if this is a regular occurrence or a one-time thing for this place. I also overheard enough to know the baked goods are fresh and made in house. Music was a bit loud... but pleasant experience and I would definitely come back. The Vernon Coffee Roasters is the only coffee shop in Vernon. I went here last week for a coffee. The space inside is very cute, they have some artwork on the walls, and a variety of seasonal drinks on a colorful menu. The girl working seemed to be the only one. She was making sandwiches, making coffee and taking payment. She had to change her gloves a few times. I got the chocolate chip hot latte. I waited a few minutes, then it was ready. This was a really good flavor, it was very chocolatey and also very strong coffee. I was thinking of getting one of the pastries, but I didn't since the coffee did it for me. My only complaints are 1) I get an iced chai and they put in the tiniest amount of ice unless I ask for extra (which sometimes I forget in the morning!) 2) the baked goods are pricey and 3) the AI art is terrible. Meh at best. I was hopeful to enjoy a local coffee shop around town, but nothing spectacular was experienced. We stopped in for two quick breakfast sandwiches and saw that aside from the bread, we witnessed that everything was cooked in the microwave, even the egg. We were supposed to have two sausage egg and cheese on a roll but somehow one came out as ham. Both sandwiches were a little over $6 but for one slice of ham (which was the wrong order anyways) and 1 tiny sausage patty that barely came out to be half of the size of the roll, Dunkin could've done better. Along with an orange juice, our order came out to be $15. I don't think we will come back. read more

I travel to Vernon on business frequently and happened to hear about the newly opened Vernon Coffee Roasters, finally some competition for the over-whelming number of DD's and the SB that opened a few years ago. On this morning I decided to detour from my normal route to try them out, I arrived about 6:50 AM and noticed they open at 7:00 AM and trust me not a minute before which seems odd to me being there are so many other options, I guess they don't need the early morning business which is okay but it seems like a lost opportunity especially for a new business. The owner greeted me as he removed the key from the door lock while a young lady started to take the chairs off the tables in anticipation of the morning rush I guess. Being I was the first customer of the day they was no wait time - I decided to try a large Americano and requested that he allow room for cream, so it was a short pour, unfortunately I noticed the condiments bar was bare except for powder non-dairy creamer and some sweeteners. I assumed that maybe they hadn't gotten around to putting the half & half out being I was the first customer. Well it was a little disappointing to find our that a "coffee shop" doesn't offer a full range of additives so I asked the owner and he referred me to the bare condiments bar, when I ask for the real stuff he hesitated and then got a quart from the refrigerator behind the counter and made a very conservative pour without offering me to pour my own - so I asked for more being the $4.50 short pour could accommodate at least a quarter cup or more but he only dribbled a few more drops in and returned the creamer to the fridge without asking if I had enough which I didn't but wasn't going to beg. Listen, I understand business margins but I also understand the importance of customer service and being frugal with the product is not the formula for success in my opinion. I want to like this place and love supporting the local community but honestly the coffee was very bitter and the fact I wasn't allowed to prepare my first cup of coffee of the day my way was very frustrating and disappointing and likely a deal breaker for me. I may try them again but then again my morning coffee is important to me and gambling on my first cup especially after going out of my way to get here is pretty risky - but I do wish them success... read more

The coffee is also excellent, by far the best in the eastern Connecticut region, you can buy by the pound whole bean as well, and the coffee is roasted in house daily! The best coffee around! I had an iced latte with unsweetened almond milk and a shot of unsweetened chocolate chip cookie flavor. It was delicious! However, I was surprised that I was charged $1.00 extra for the almond milk and $1.00 extra for the flavor shot. The flavor shot flavors are all listed on a chalk board, but it does not have any price listed. I can possibly see paying extra for a flavor shot, but I don't think you should charge $1.00 extra for almond milk. So many people don't drink cow's milk nowadays, but drink plant milk instead, that it is commonplace and should not cost more. Just my opinion. The staff is always extremely nice. read more

One of the best coffee shops I have been to in a while. The beans are harvested all over the world and freshly roasted IN THE CAFE. Not many cafes freshly roast their beans which I appreciate hence why they tend to be burnt. The service is incredible, the waiter was very patient and took all our considerations. OMG - Matt is the best barista ever! They have the freshest, best tasting coffee with such an immense menu of combinations that delight the most discerning palate. Matt is now my go-to barista.
