I had not even been notified the generator was in and haven't heard from them in months. I get an email (no phone call) one morning that the technician is on the way. I had to immediately call them and tell them I am not home. Their response was the technician forgotten to call At a set appointment after salesman had been out, the technician came out without plans and I asked him about a different placement which he drew up. Then I get a call from the salesman that it would be $ 1,000 extra. I asked why the technician didn't tell me at the time rather than wasting my time and he said he should have brought my paperwork. Operations Mgr. gets involved and says I do not believe your new location will work, but she has asked my salesman to reach out to me. Also stated, if the permit was approved with a specific location, they will be unable to change that location without amending the permit and going through another approval process with the municipality. My salesman called and said that information was incorrect. However, said had some customers had issues with carbon monoxide detectors going off because of some of the exhausts. I had them position in a different direction. This was not brought up on the initial consultation. I asked for a particular part and was told "typically they have that on the truck, but he would let them know." When they arrived - no part. Salesmen said he told them. I believe him but their communication is poor. I was told it would be a 1 long day installation, it was 2. After generator delivered and wiring done, technician left on May 26 and said he would call May 31 to set next appointment. I heard from them on June 9. They offered one appointment which I assume was a cancellation because all other appoinrmtnent were almost two weeks out. In my opinion they have very poor communication from the office and from too many different people telling me different things. They need one point of communication. Sent automated emails about appointments which would not work so I asked them to confirm verbally first then send their automated email. Very frustrating since I had gotten less expensive quotes. They are, however, prompt with billing and hand delivered the second payment due before the generator was off the truck. Before Technician came out for final set up, I requested the following: Sent: Monday, June 20, 2022 8:51 AM Subject: Fw: Perkins Generator When technician is here tomorrow could he check on a few things? 1. light downstairs crooked after rehung over washer/dryer 2. Debris in between washer/dryer from install that I can't reach and don't have tools to remove 3. 2 sets floodlights on timer have not been coming on since last work. Sent: Monday, June 20, 2022 9:02 AM Subject: RE: Perkins Generator Will do, I will let him know. thank you. Technician comes out and asked if I had called electrician (3rd party work). I told him and played voicemail where office told me the electrician would be there at the same time as he was. Office was incorrect. No electrician showed up. This email sent and no word from Perkins Sent: Monday, July 11, 2022 4:40 PM Subject: Re: Perkins Generator After the previous email electrician called and left a message, but Perkins office also left one after electrician saying that he would be here the same day as technician. Technician was out and finished the install. He asked if I had called the electrician and I told him no. I played Tasha's message for him, and he told me to call the electrician. I called the electrician on June 27. He said that week was difficult. It was a short week, and they had a company fishing trip for the 4th of July. I told him week after the 4th would be fine and said he would get back with me with a date/time. Didn't hear from him that week so I left a message on July 8. If you could help in getting someone out here, I would appreciate it. My alarm company has been on hold, and I am starting to set other appointments. I need to get this generator project completed and things in working order like they were before the install. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. HAD LESS EXPENNNSIVE QUOTES BIT LISTENED TO SOMEONE WHO SAID PERKINS HAD GOOD SERVICE. DO NOT PAY IN CASH SO YOU HAVE OPTION OF DISPUTING THROUGH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. read more

Called Perkins after our generator didn't come on last week and we couldn't fix trouble shooting it. Knowing it needed an oil change etc they sent Thomas out today. First of all, what an honest man/company! He said right away the reason was because the knob for propane /natural gas was somehow in the middle. Again knowing we needed yearly maintenance he finished. It runs great again and we will be calling them in the future. read more

Because Georgia Power is constantly going down in my neighborhood I called these guys to install a new house backup generator to run my child's ventilator, and other various medical devices. I can honestly say I wish my child's doctors were as coordinated and efficient as these guys were. Perkins handled everything: laying out the concrete pad for the generator, coordinating with GNG for a new gas meter, coordinating with GP when installing the transfer switch; and on top of it all making sure I understood what they were doing, when they were doing it and how it all worked. They even treated me like they appreciated my business, imagine that! Since the installation, this thing has worked like a dream and I've had no issues with the product or the company. This is the kind of business that anyone would love to work with. They really understand what they do, appreciate their customers, and just do their job right. read more
